Hopefully they release the online patch soon. I still haven't found any soapstones or anything like that yet. Would suck if they are only found when the game is online, but I doubt it.

They are available offline. Make sure you're "embered" (plague next to health bars will look like it's on fire and you'll kinda glow).

Was this posted? I think this confirms that Namco don't care, they just warn you that it's unpatched.

Optimizations are good and all, but not 3 weeks waiting good lol

What do you mean by available? I know the embered part, but haven't found any message items or things like that. I don't do coop for first playthrough anyways, but do like having all the items. Oh well, I'll figure it out eventually lol.

I also read that the difficulty is nerfed for reviewers and damage output is affected until patched. Don't know how true that is though.

I can confirm the difficulty is not nerfed, but then again I haven't leveled up yet and don't use shield. Any enemy can easily kill, though.

Difficulty seems really easy. First boss went down very very easy compared to the PC previews I have seen. I might try and get a refund.

Why would they intentionally nerf the difficulty for reviewers?

Just sounds like damage control from some of the Souls base because the early hours are as easy as the previews suggested.

They probably learned from Bloodborne that has the hardest entry of all Souls games.

Someone mentioned that the early parts are easy but then the later parts will kick you in the balls. Miyazaki letting the difficulty ramp up.

I've read too many impressions where reviewers are saying it's tough.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform Dark Souls III fans that any gameplay they may experience prior to the official April 12th release date for the game will not be complete.

The international version of the game currently does not have its multiplayer capabilities activated, nor does it include the contents of a planned day-one patch that will deliver further optimization of the game. Players will be able to download the day-one patch on April 12th, the official international release date for Dark Souls III.

Does this mean the Xbox frame rate might not be absolute shit in the April 12th version? :p

Sadly FROM games always suffer from performance issues. Unless the patch it or remaster it (Scholar of First Sin)

Not usually this bad, one of the later bosses and stutters that were really annoying.
What theyre putting out consistently throughtout the game was large in scale though.

edit : got this working, was harder than the toughest boss in the game :O

Let's say I bought the codes, but it didn't appear on my Web browser and I didn't get an email. How would I go about getting my codes visible on a screen?

Really? I never thought that. Due to how fast BB plays I found it easier.
We were used to the souls formula though. And just compare the first 3 bosses of every game. I think DS2 and Demons were rather mamagable, DS1 were challenging and BB bosses were aggressive as hell and forced you to swallow the gun riposte. For beginners I think BB had the highest learning curve.

They should be emailed to your PayPal email address. Mine were sent instantly.

It's insane to play a Dark Souls game without any reviews, impressions, or idea about what the game may or may not be like. Really cool and something special. :)

Yup this was like the one game that did not need to be sent to a ton of streamers weeks before release.

I didn't really notice anything until I got to the big forest area. Game started hitching bad at points there.
Blighttown levels of bad? I don't see why anyone would expect From to make a technically proficient game on consoles, it's not their strong point ;). All of them have been kinda spotty.

I'd have to agree with this comment. Playing through Dark Souls 3 right now without any guides or other players to help, and it feels absolutely amazing. Had a hitch with a couple of bosses and finally beat after multiple times after I "GOT GUD" :)

Plus, hunting for secrets and coming across the occasional bad ass ring, armor, etc. has been pure joy. This is exactly how I felt the first time I played my import version of Demon's Souls way back in the day. The intrepid explorer, and it's back in spades lol

I'm finding this game harder than Bloodborne so far... But, im running a pyro guy for the first time and I somehow killed the first 3 bosses in BB on the first try which obviously helps.

I just bought an Xbox One. Mainly for this but getting both consoles was going to happen for me at some point. Can I do the purchase online in advance of it being delivered or do I have to wait for the console?

I downloaded this and have put a few hours in and it's great and all, but... it's just not the same without online interactions. I never get co-op help on my first run through, but I do generally help others with bosses I've already beaten, and then there are the messages which can add so much to a first playthrough.

At this point I'm considering just waiting until release day, difficult as that might prove.

What's the best guide? I do have an old Live account from the 360 days.

Use this:
Haha I wouldn't say expert at all but this is how I would do it

Use this to change the region of the Microsoft store - http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk/en_GB/DisplayWorldWidePage/

From here change to Japan and buy 1x 5000 yen and 1x 3000 yen digital credit using PayPal and an address found on google.

Then use this to change the region of the Xbox store - https://live.xbox.com/Shell/ChangeLocale

From here redeem the 2 digital codes you purchased on the microsoft store and then purchase Dark Souls 3.

You're now done and ready to download from your console without switching regions on it at all.
