iOS Gaming March 2016 | Your backlog grows in tiny bits

^^ Was that through the Starbucks app? Or on the cards they give out in-store?

I already have the game on Android but wouldn't mind it on my iPhone too. But won't take your code. Someone who doesn't have the game should get it.

Through the app. I'm not sure if the cards in the store align with the app or not since I usually go through the drive through.

Somebody already redeemed it though.

That sucks. Thought GAFers were better than lurking codes.

Honestly not a huge Starbucks drinker. I'll redownload the app and see if I get a message for it. No biggie if I don't.

Surprising for them to give away a fairly recent game. Great game too.

If anything major comes out this week, looks like this thread might hit 20 pages. That hasn't happened since September, and before that since the Jan 2015 thread
Well then we should definitely talk about some good games coming this week and totally not resort to useless filler posts, yes sir indeed.

Oh of course :p

I'll try and go in tomorrow morning. If they have a code, I'll snag one for you.

That looks cool. Kind of a 3D take on Polara with the color switching. Hope it has as much variety as that one. Color switching alone would get old quick even as a twitch runner.
From the trailer, looks like multiple paths, boosting fans, moving platforms, among other obstacles, and moves like double/triple jumps and other tricks according to the press kit

Sounds awesome. I'll have to look at the trailer. Just was looking at the gif.

Edit: And whoa ... That looks fantastic! Know if it's going to be premium?

BTW, Desktop Dungeons is really good. I remember hearing it had a rocky start on mobile, but it's an excellent roguelike with a great sense of humor and noobie friendly tutorials.

Clash Royale sucked me in hook line and sinker.

Yup. It's damned good. Not too bad for F2P...if you can be patient. I dropped $10 on gems and don't feel bad as much enjoyment as I get out of it. No more though....I know what a slippery slope that can become

Sorry to ask but how can I redeem Twofold?
I have an USA account and I downloaded the Starbucks app...but I do not see anything relevant.

?

Yeah, I didn't get it either after redownloading the app. Usually these kind of things come through Messages in it. Sometimes it's a timing thing and you may miss the window when the messages are sent out.

No Twofold codes at my local Starbucks this morning. Just some cards for a free camera app.

Your mileage may vary, though, so it might be worth a stop if you like their coffee.

Thanks for checking. If I get a chance I'll check my local Starbucks. I think a lot of times the cards in stores are different than the freebies in the app.

Oh this thread can hit 20 pages or whatever. I can unleash a TORRENT of pent up questions lol
1. does FF9 have working controller support yet?

2. is Miitomo supposed to come out today? I had heard March and well...

It comes tomorrow (should be late tomorrow in EU).

While I wait for answers, some impressions:

I bought 9th Dawn 2 and played 2-3 hours now. I bought the first one when it released and played 30 mins then stopped no idea why it seemed fine. Thoughts-
--music is symphonic beauty I love everything I have heard.
--graphics are nice enough on my iPhone 6. Old school looking but I like them.I tried on iPad mini retina and it was blurry grainy ugly :(
--controls are just like the first and weird but I have adapted. you move with a left analog (fixed or floating) and the right analog aims and attacks with. weapons/magic. it can sometimes be difficult to hit enemies as they move around a lot but most of the time it works.
--leveling up is simple so far just choosing stat points. there is a skill system but I either have not gotten far enough to unlock them or I haven't figured it out yet lol.
--dungeons are long and meandering with similar graphics (so far). puzzles have consisted of flipping switches then figuring out what you just unlocked. they have added a jump button so there are gaps and moving platforms that have worked ok so far.
--story is generic and some text has seemed...stiff? amateur? not sure but it's alright sometimes and not later.
All in all I have enjoyed my time with it and will play more. the world is MASSIVE so I can see this being a very long game.

the end

cool thanks. while I really don't care about the "game" in general, I want to see what Nintendi has made and j hear you can unlock some kind of reward for using it so I'm in for that!

I can't get into it. I think I'm predisposed to ignore or at least loathe F2P games for something.

I feel the same. Clash Royale is fantastic. You just have to remember it is designed (rather well) to get you to spend money. There is a grind involved, but it is enjoyable. I've spent so much time playing I felt I could justify spending a bit of cash on it.

I love it as well but man, it makes me want to throw my phone sometimes. The waiting times are perfect in my opinion. It's a good way to not get bored of the game by playing it too much

So, who's looking forward to Warbits? It's finally coming and, if the beta is any indication, it's gonna be glorious.

I've been counting down the days for years, but now if I'm being honest, I'm a little more excited for Lost Frontiers to satisfy my Advance Wars itch.

Can't blame you -- it looks great. I will gladly get both at launch. I'm a fan of the genre.

I'm super addicted to Clash Royale too.
I must say they really nailed it down for pacing and the matchmaking is superb.
Everything else is super slick.

So can you recommend it?
It has good reviews, but I really don't know of the concept works for 100 levels.
For what it's worth. I got sucked into the GAF hype around this game when it launched. I played it all of 30 mins before deleting it..

I have been making a small silly game lately about clicking pens. It all started with my own personal pen clicking habits becoming too much. I was constantly *click* *click* *click*.

I thought I couldnt be the only one who has this obsession, so why not make a game out of it. Pen Clicker Fury is the name and basically you touch the screen to click the pen. You can used the gathered "Clicks" to buy new and better pens which give more clicks or have special abilities. Also I made a leaderboard so people can compete and see who is the most obessed pen clicker.

I am submitting Pen Clicker Fury to apple today and it is ready to launch on google. I hope people will find it a fun and silly little game. Here is a couple of pictures. =)

What are your thoughts on this type of small casual clicker games?

I want to try Clash Royale but I am afraid I will end up spending every cent I own on it.
