Question regarding how far I am, for those who beaten the game?
just arrived at profaned capital (the bonfire) and have yet to beat pontiff at Irithyll. I also have frigid dancer left, he's impossible :) have I passed the midpoint?

You're getting there. I won't say too much but probably a good 2-3 decently sized areas left.

So thats why they kept coming back up. So it's just like the first game.

It isn't as bad as i'm making it out to be. I just feel lazy and don't want to go through it. I go though like half of it and im like eeeeehhhhhhhhhhh

You don't need a divine weapon to make things stay down, and not everything gets back up.

Hint: Pay attention to their e
ye colors.

More specific hint:
White eyes means they will get up exactly once. Just kill them again and it's over for that enemy.

My first souls game. Beat it now,
got the first flame ending
no idea what anything in the story or the ending meant but damn that was some cool gameplay.

There's no downside to keeping it other than if you have a serious issue with looking hollowed. I don't want to spoil too much, but the dark ending involves following Anri of Astora's questline. The woman you see with Horace. As long as you follow her dialogue as well as the woman who eventually replaces the pilgrim who made you hollow you'll unlock the dark ending.

Alright then,
as long as it just makes me ugly, i'll keep it. thanks!

Can someone tell me what I'm missing? I think I read that infusing the dark soul with heavy makes it really good. The blacksmith won't give the option though. Only sharp, raw or refined. I have two heavy gems too.

I'm playing through this - made it to the Crystal Sage (will beat tonight) and loving every second of it.

However regarding NPCs; i feel like i'm missing a TON. I'm finding them in my wanderings and they're going back to Firelink but I have zero clue what I'm meant to be doing with them...

Double handed +4 greatsword with charge r2 vs the D
eacons
of the D
eep
was hilariously easy. I could take take out half of them with one swipe.

You need Farron Coal.

Edit: oops you said sharp was there, so you should already have it...got nothing.

That was the boss fight I was just like

There aren't many boss fights made for us giant sword wielders, but that was one of them.

this netcode sucks. had some dude invade me, fine. blue phantom got summoned too. now this red guy runs down the stairs. i swing at him, he swings around too but nothing happens. after 5 seconds there is a sound and he is gone. i think blue and red had a phantom fight and blue won. looked cheap. netcode in Demon's and DS2 was better. this is not fun and no, i have a good wired connection. i hate when some dude summons me and just slides around the level for the rest of the game.

meh.

The only thibg that disappointed me was
Aldrich. Was hyped up for a lovecraftian oceanic squid ectoplasm creature connected to the slimes you encounter in the game based on the trailer. It was just a worm lady, and my favorite boss remains Wolnir sadly. Oh well, can't have it all.

Just beat Y
horm
with the
help of Siegward
.
Man, why'd he die afterwards despite surviving the fight? :( He was a total badass though. Makes me want to know the lore behind him and Yhorm.

I need some honest opinions from people who don't like Dark Souls 2, do you like this?

I remembe no more than like...5 minutes as I started messing with the mechanics I said to myself, "this feels like Dark Souls is supposed to". Have been enjoying myself constantly ever since.

So in short, yes.

That doll is in an area connected to a place you passed long before where you are now. You need to take another look around in C
rucifixion
W
oods
.

Also, I didn't find the place you're talking about that bad, but yes, it is optional.

Ah man, I thought that boss was optional since the other path lead to one of the big bosses. God dammit. Thanks. Now I can stop being pissed at Tierge or whatever his name is.

Wow, W
olnir
was a bit of a joke really. Only used one Estus and had it down in probably just over a minute.

Is there any point in doing
Smouldering Lake
now? It seems ridiculously difficult and not a whole lot of fun.

Got my ass kicked in the s
wamp
. A bunch of strong enemies and the terrain is just awful to fight on.
Poison
doesn't help either.

If you're into pyromancy, it's a must.
