RUINER, a stylish dystopian cyberpunk isometric shooter published by Devolver

I certainly appreciate the interest in cyberpunk games as of late. While I would certainly prefer more RPGs, it does look really good, and the action appears nuanced enough to set it apart.

Take my SIN away.

Nom nom nom. Really happy there's quite some (indie) studios out there bringing the cyberpunk setting back a bit. Of course there's the big budget projects like Cyberpunk and Deus Ex, but stuff like this ticks all the right boxes. Reminds me to get back into Satellite Reigns too.

Wow i dont like isometric games but i like the look of this, i want to play a awesome 3rd person cyberpunk game and it looks like cyberpunk 2077 will be for me, and from the guys that made witcher.

What are everybodys favourote cyberpunk movies, OTHER than Blade Runner (cos Blade Runner is the obvious answer)

Nice, had heard of this game last year, but the devs only had concept art and some info. The gameplay screenshots looks awesome

Oh yes I'm hyped.

So, Susumu Hirasawa is one of the artists that's providing music for this game?
That's unexpected.

*Breathing intensifies* Didn't realize he was involved. That alone makes it an insta-buy. His work on Paprika is among my most played stuff.

Nine Inch Nails, references, anyone?

You had all of them on your side, didn't you?
You believed in all your lies, didn't you?

The Ruiner's got a lot to prove he's got nothing to lose and now he made you believe
The Ruiner's your only friend well he's the living end to the cattle he deceives
The raping of the innocent you know the Ruiner ruins everything he sees
Now the only pure thing left in my fucking world is wearing your disease

The Ruiner's a collector he's an infector serving his shit to his flies
Maybe there will come a day when those that you keep blind will suddenly realize
Maybe it's a part of me you took to a place I hoped it would never go
And maybe that fucked me up much more than you'll ever know

The art style is by creative director, Benedykt Szneider. Made by 4 devs.

There's a tourist mode for people who can't handle the hard combat but there's no easier difficulty as that's how they've designed the game to be played:

The game is so stunning to look at and so hard to play, the team created a second mode for people more interested in exploration than they are difficult combat.

"We will have a tourist mode for the people who don't care about the combat but want to explore the city and the story," Stylinski said.

That will be the only way players can adjust difficulty: Either you play the game as is, or you're a tourist.

Gameplay looks hot.

No RPG-like progression, right? Just weapon/health pickups.

The City also looks incredible. I imagine Shadowrun Dragonfall in this engine would be a dream game.

That 15 minute gameplay demo looked astoundingly good and authentic - like they definitely have something to show. Hopefully this pulls of a surprise release pretty soon, because it looks great.

Looks great, concept art is great and I love me some NIN references. The screen-faces kinda remind me of the robots from in Saga which I love. Most likely a purchase for me!

Sidewalk and Skeletons (best darkwave/witch house artist out there, imo) has also just announced on Facebook he is providing music for this game as well. Between Susumu Hirasawa (OMG), synthwave music and now Sidewalks and Skeletons, this game may be soundtrack of the decade for me. For anyone interested in what Sidewalks and Skeletons music sounds like, here's his latest album (incredible stuff):
