I really doubt Amazon will ship a copy an entire week before the game launches. It would be the coolest thing ever, but I doubt they'd let that slip through the cracks.

Oh wait, is the bonus question "The Graveyard" by Tale of Tales? I remember that being brought up by a friend once in a game design conversation.

Edit: I would have guessed Ico as well. Lol

Yep! Wow, didn't think anyone would have guessed it! I would never have guessed this myself.

Yes! It was Greek, related to The Odyssey/Odysseus and translated to:
"Much enduring devine Nathan".

Bonus one is sadly incorrect, I didn't even know this one and had to research it!

Edit: I did think ICO as well but it isn't that apparently...

Ah thought it was about the Tenzin part for some weird reason. Total brainfart on my part. The village part.... dunno, kinda gives a Shenmue 2 vibe. Probably not that.

OK because you mention Tenzin...

What Easter egg was found among the dead wolves in the ice cave?

The Tibetan Village still has Ico vibes, its not that far off base. Were the Ice Caves ever cited as being Ico inspired? It wouldn't suprise me, I believe that section helped inspire The Last of Us.

Also, anybody know the answer to question 1?

Do most studios outsource stuff?

Kojima productions had an entire studio outsourced in east europe/india just doing the horse animation work. Just sit through the credits of MGSV - a ton of shit was outsourced.

In fact, most AAA game devs outsource a lot of the work to multiple studios. Its how hollywood productions are done, so it works for HD video games as well.

Yes those games did. I thought we had this conversation already. Both UC3 and TLOU PS3 had people playing the MP a week early.
Well, the Subway beta was open until October 31st 2011, so you could play UC3 MP continuously until you got a retail copy in November 1st 2011.

TLOU MP PS3 didn't have a beta, so...

The online passes were not redeemable before the release date.

Yes they were redeemable. I swear on my life.

I was playing UC3 mp while alot of my friends were still playing the subway beta.

Someone I don't recognize asked to follow me on twitter...

Nope. Wont be checking until I beat the game.

Watch it be a childhood friend or something.

Its crazy the amount of work that studios outsource. It makes sense in the end. But like you said, its true. Japanese developers outsource to India and China since its so darn cheap compared to other countries. They can get so much content for real cheap. This doesn't escape many developers tbh. At least the big ones.

There was nothing but praise from the impressions we got until now.

There is 1 sorta mixed, I mean he loved the game but he found U2 and 3 to be better, couple of things bothered him about this one, I think it's a couple of pages back.

But we have like 8-9 other impressions that are all extremely positive, GOTY level positive :)

I have seen the first chapter and it's very reminiscent of a certain Uncharted 3 chapter.
A bit boring but it's only the tutorial.

Someone that's played it that has critical criticisms. I personally can't believe the early user reviews due to hype.

Well the post from Shinobi saying he's talked to several reviewers and they've had nothing but praise for it doesn't sound mixed.

Why would you actively want to find someone who has critical criticisms for?? It's almost like confirmation bias setting in.

There's no way to pre-order this digitally and get a Prime / GCU style discount anywhere, is there?

I wish. I've been lucking out on PSN bucks between ebay deals ($50 cards for $40) and pricing errors (trading in a couple o' SFV's from Amazon for a nice $30 profit) so I don't totally feel like I'm losing out as much by going Digital.

Why do I keep clicking this topic?! Ugh, so close yet so far.

Really? They had an entire studio doing the horse animations, yet they still couldn't come close to then a 5 year old game - RDR. Then again no one (not even Naughty Dog) has got horses down like Rockstar.

OK I will stop being lazy, a reddit user:

"One of the most major criticisms I can give it is the lack of crazy cinematic moments (like the cargo train/plane) and the fact that right until the end it tries to stick to a more realistic vibe. Not enough combat either littered with (beautiful) cutscenes which I found to disconnect me from the gameplay all too often. These are definitely my biggest gripes. As a plus, the game knows who it's being built for and has an absolute fuckton of fan service. I can't say without spoilers but it's lovely to see such attention to detail (it is naughty dog after all). Without a crappy number review I'll place it comfortably within the same ranks as almost every ND game made to date, though it definitely had less of an effect on me when compared to 2,3, TLOU. While I could play those games again and again, this one I honestly couldn't just pick up and play as and when. This is all subjective to me though, I can't wait to hear what other people think"

Doesn't sound bad to me. Though I couldn't put 3 up there as a game with impact. I'm having a hard time playing it over on teh remaster whereas 2 was a breeze to play since it was so fun. TLOU is another conversation. Either way, this sounds like he had to look hard for something to critique(lack of combat? not enough crazy spectacle?)

Just completed this wonderful game, It's a return to form in my opinion as I thought UC3 was just a good game and nothing more after how unreal UC2 was I can not describe how much I loved that game so maybe I was expecting too much from the 3rd game.

However UC4 is a stunning game, gunfights are miles better than previous entries and there are many ways to plan your attack and in complete stealth too if you want.

Visuals are mightily impressive the PS4 is a beast for a console and ND are just beyond talented in all aspects of game development and it really shows it's honestly just unbelievable for a console game, The game feels a little more mature and more serious than previous entries in my opinion and the settings of the game are also excellent.

The usual action set pieces are back and they are great maybe could of been a little bit better/longer but it's always nice to play them intense moments in between platforming and snappin necks.

I felt that there was a lot more platforming than previous entries in the series which is a good thing there is also some small open environments to explore by vehicle aswell in the game nothing huge but it was a good addition.

As ever the cast are voiced better than any other game that's out there right now there's really nothing more to say about that.

The hidden treasures are back and I would say they are much harder to find than all previous entries I don't know if that's anything to really shout about but I love treasure hunting a lot so I welcomed this.

For me personally I think this is the best game I've played since The last of us was released, people might read my post and think I'm just swallowed up in all the hype and I've played it with my ND glasses on but honestly no I haven't I just think it's a hall of fame level game.

I played quite stealthy and tried to find as many treasures as I could finding 74/109 so this certainly added time to my total completion time on Normal difficulty which came in at 17 hours and 27 mins.

If I am to point out any negatives.... I can't really mention them as they are all spoilers so I'll not post them not even spoiler mark them, but maybe nitpicking the last couple of chapters could of been a little better and the antagonists were pretty lame compared to Lazaravich and Flynn of UC2, Too many slidey parts kinda made it feel cheap after the 20th time.

EDIT- as a Reddit poster stated yes I do agree that there isn't enough of the classic moments like the train from UC2 or plane from UC3 they are in UC4 but like I say earlier in my post they could of been a bit better/longer. There is a lot of fan service but it's good and doesn't feel tacky or face palm worthy at all - EDIT

It's a 9.5/10 game no doubts about it at all, It's worth buying a PS4 for or going out of your way to borrow or rent a console for a weekend or something, but whatever you do if you like any previous Uncharted games you're gonna love this....

No, I don't believe you. I'll wait until a few days so I can get legitimate reviews from professionals and not fanboys wearing Naughty Dog goggles. Give me some critiques man, tell me this game sucks don't tell me it's great.

Haha edited my post as I do agree with the Reddit quote that the action cutscenes were not as good or "wow" moments like the train or plane but they're still good just not long enough tbh.

Another part of the game I could criticise is sometimes the AI is kinda stupid lol it's better than previous games but it could still be better but I am nitpicking with that one, Maybe that's a good sign lol.

Nothing major stood out for me and I will be playing through this game again I've platted UC1-3 so time to add another to the Drake collection!!
