The Marvel sets are weird to me because I really want the Civil War minifigs but the last thing I need is a bunch of boring vehicles (to me) sitting around.
I feel the same... I don't care for minifigs variations, but I'd like to be able to collect at least one of each. At the same time, buying only the figs on Bricklink feels really expensive, even if most of the pieces in the sets aren't really that useful when you don't MOC small vehicules...

Finally picked this up on Saturday night:

I've been putting it off since it was released. Double VIP points helped push me over the edge. And I figure it'll placate me until Assault on Hoth gets discounted enough that I don't feel too bad to buy such a half-assed set.

Also checked my nearby Target, Barnes & Noble, and drugstore in search of the Disney mini-figs on Sunday, but came up empty handed. I wonder if my area's just slow to receive them. I might try again tonight.

Enjoy! It's probably my favorite SW UCS set i have put together so far, i prefer the finished look even over the Death Star as it's very busy and has a lot going on, plus you can easily set up a bunch of scenes that are visible at first and second glance.

I was between the Ewok Village and the Slave One, but I'm a sucker for ships over play sets.

Congrats! I picked up the Ewok Village and the Sandcrawler on Saturday, I just couldn't pass on them when they are so close to going away.

Ewok Village is the best UCS for Star Wars in years.

And we still haven't sold any Disney figs at my store except to me. Tempted to get the rest of the case and trade them

Kipp

but I am taking tiny steps forward
I'm not even a Star Wars fan, but I've been so tempted to pick up Ewok Village for so long. I just love it.

Nobody likes the UCS Tie do they? lol
Reminds of the UCS B-Wing.

I don't think its like that. I don't know, maybe, I like it. I think its more of a case it's a TIE fighter, its kind of hard for them to mess it up and theres not anything spectacular about it. It's a big Lego Tie Fighter, yup.

The UCS B-Wing is great. I actually didn't like how it looked when I saw it on display at the LEGO store but actually building it changed my mind. I still have mine on the shelf, although it was supposed to be a placeholder for the UCS Slave I.

Kind of wish to had least collected the regular b-wing before it retired.

Anyway I decided to get to my local Lego store this morning rather than later and got 4 Disney figures for now. Feeling for the pieces is a bit tough lol, but I opened one and got Mr Incredible, so that one! I open the other three later. Kind of funny, the store had the box hidden behind the checkout heh heh.

Ewok Village the best UCS Star Wars set in years? Wow, that’s a bold statement. :) I’m more of a vehicle than playset kind of guy when it comes to UCS sets. I think Slave I is the best UCS set out there right now. This is all based on how they looked on display as I have all the current UCS vehicle sets but haven’t had time to build any yet. I was there for the VIP event on Saturday and had it in my hand, but I just couldn’t pull the trigger. I ended up with a second UCS TIE so I could have two chasing my Red 5. Oh man, I have all these grand visions of how I want to display stuff, but I’ve got no time to build and worse yet, not much display space. Do you think I’ll like Ewok Village even though I mainly like vehicles? Is there a lot of functionality and playability that makes it enjoyable? Just curious of your opinion. :)

I was unimpressed when I first saw the UCS TIE, but after deciding to get it and build it, I love it. I don't have Ewok village as I prefer vehicles, but I can see it looks good and looks like a well thought out set, unlike the hoth shambles.

Epic! I agree I'm ship only.

I'm also interested more into ships than places in SW UCS sets. I think Ewoks' Village is nice, but not nice enough to convince me to jump in...

UCS TIE is a better set than Slave 1. The build isn't quite as good, but it looks cooler.
I also think Tie has an edge over Slave 1 on display, but I intend to transform UCS Tie into Tie/In, with 181th colors (so I can turn Red-5 vs Tie into Wedge Antilles vs Soontir Fel), and then the gap will be huge for me...

I wish I could MOD them into Jaina Solo's Twin Suns Leader XWing and Jagged Fel Clawcraft, but Clawcrafts wings are insanely difficult to create in Lego :/

I may try to turn the Tie into Tie/D, though, it's by far my favorite craft in the Tie line (since XWing Alliance)

Y'all are killing me with this UCS talk.

I'm planning on getting the Tie soon as I don't feel it'll be around for much longer, and I need it to offset the Red Five set. I've never been crazy about the Ewok Village but it's getting a lot of love here and is making me curious....

And for the record, the B-Wing is the coolest looking UCS I have. The worst? That lame Obi Wan ship.

My disney figure results from my trip to the lego store this morning:

Mr. Incredible x2
Syndrome
Cheshire Cat

I wanted at least Mr. Incredible, Syndrome, and Stitch from this series, so great that I have obtained the two Incredibles figures from this trip (funny that I even got a second Mr. Incredible). I going to put them alongside my marvel stuff once I get a display going heh heh. Now to obtained Stitch sometime too, and maybe I will spread out a bit more with this series.

Imperial shuttle is my favourite UCS SW model, closely followed by R2D2. X-wing and TIE look great but the smaller models were fantastic too (and much easier to find space to display them)

I had really wanted to get Assault on Hoth, and had such high hopes for it, but it's just too disappointing, especially at its price-point. The Ewok Village was a worthy substitute, especially after watching a couple Youtube reviews. It'll also pair nicely with The Battle of Endor, and maybe an AT-AT and Imperial Shuttle.

But my favorite UCS set (of the ones I own: Death Star, Imperial Shuttle, B-Wing, Sandcrawler, Ewok Village) is still the Death Star. It displays well, recreates most all the iconic scenes, and has excellent playability. I don't know how LEGO will be able to top this one, but I look forward to seeing what they come up with. Now granted, I have yet to actually build any of the other sets, but I'm pretty confident the space station won't be dethroned. =)

I really hope (more like a pipe dream) they get around to releasing another UCS Tantive IV, as I didn't return to LEGO until well after the first release. It's too expensive on the secondary market, and it has room for improvement. But the standard model remains a personal favorite.

I REALLY regret not getting R2-D2. It came out in the months between me graduating college and finding a solid job, and I'd already spent my LEGO budget at that time on the Diagon Alley set. It's probably the only Star Wars UCS set I've really been interested in too.

I was more into MOCs at the time and wanted to save my money for a Mass Effect Normandy set that looked amazing online, but it was huge and would have required a LOT to buy all the pieces. Never ended up doing that one either when I realized just how big it was.

Too many for me to choose a best UCS set (well, other than the Falcon), as a lot of them look great on display, many of them just mentioned. I do like the Y-wing, too. Very long, sleek looking ship and gets bonus pts for not being an all gray ship. A reason why the Tantive IV looks so striking.

I would say the bottom 2 would be the Jedi Starfighter and the Naboo Starfighter. Not that they are badly done or anything, just that they don't look like what you'd expect from a UCS ship. The Naboo one is barely bigger than the system set. The chrome pieces look nice but if they wanted to really make it a UCS ship, it should have been twice the size.

Best looking UCS is the Imperial Shuttle. It is hard to tell it is even LEGO from most distances.

And is anyone interested in trades for Disney figures? I am going to open the rest of the case tonight and see what I got. Should have one to two more complete sets.

My LEGO store got 30 boxes of Disney CMFs. Sold out of them this morning. I got there this afternoon. They said Downtown Disney LEGO store got 60 boxes and they sold out yesterday. My LEGO store had a limit of 18 packs per customer. Not sure what the limit was at the Downtown Disney one.

Congrats on all who got some of the Disney CMFs. They will be hard to come by for awhile.

my store also has the 18 limit, so i would assume it goes for all LEGO store. no hold, and no selling of boxes

can't even buy them until next week as employees tho.

Yeah the Glendale Galleria got I think 50 cases in, opened at 11am, and they were gone by the time I called at 2 to see if one of my old coworkers could feel out an extra Donald and Aladdin for me since I messed those up. Sigh.

I wish I had the ability to get a second set to put in a safe for a rainy day. The fact that they sold out online in less than a day is ridiculous. How could Lego not have foreseen high demand for these?

Went to my Lego store and did the awkward ritual of feeling tiny bags for the first time ever. Was kind of crap at it but once I got used to it I managed to find the Alice I was looking for. Was with a friend and between us we also wanted to find an Ariel, Ursula, and Maleficent, which should've been easy, but even though we simplified the process to "do you feel a leg part? If so, next"... we couldn't find any in the massive pile. :/

Maaaaay try again later at another local store or something, I don't know. Still good to have the Alice without having to ebay or try my luck at random pulls, at least.

Just found out have some large cash coming from previous work. I'm feeling a "screw the world" kind of purchase coming on. If it's not Lego it will probably be a Wii U console. If its Lego i'm thinking Ghostbusters HQ because now being on fixed income means I will never get another chance to get it. I know this is a bad place to ask this but is the GB HQ a good purchase? I could go with something like Tower Bridge like i've been wanting but that would mean my OCD would require me to purchase the Big Ben set too and that would be too much for me to spend.

GB Firehouse is rad. I work the front desk at my job and I have it displayed, not even open, and I constantly am getting comments on it.

Look at it this way: The Wii U will eventually drop significantly in price, especially with the NX on the horizon, while the Firehouse will only increase.

If you do have an extra complete set available, let me know, please. I could buy it outright, with some extra added, or what kind of stuff are you intereted in trading for? PM me, if interested. Thanks!

Ok. Jimbro responded first, so he gets first dibs.

I have one complete set of Disney to trade, and one complete set minus Alice (sorry, the third one from the box goes to my wife since it is one of her favorite books).
After that, I have singles of Mr. Incredible, Syndrome, Genie, Stitch, and Mickey to trade.
The Stitch is kind of up in the air depending if my wife really wants one for her desk to go with Alice. The second mostly complete set I can of course break apart, but the complete set is up for Jimbro.

I am looking for trades equal to retail value for these. I am just wanting to help out those that couldn't get these at regular price, or any way at all. Just respond in here or PM me if you are wanting any of them.

I really want to get talked out of the Wii U, it makes no sense as a purchase for me. GB Firehouse makes the most sense as a purchase for me, it'll fit in with my modular shelf and is something I do want. Going to wait till end of month though to get that free Cap polybag.

I feel silly that I didn't realize 10188 was considered a UCS set. It's still sitting in my closet of shame and I don't think I've actually taken it out of the cardboard box yet. One day. My biggest fear is that I'll be disappointed with the 8 year old fig prints.

There's a Canadian toy chain near my house that just got the Disney CMFs in so we stopped by after dinner. I was 13/13 in my sack-feelin', including 3 Mickeys.

I'm really impressed with the head sculpts on the "character" figs, especially Mickey. The painting on the anime-haired "S" guy (Incredibles maybe?) is also amazing. He's a terrifically designed fig.

I still need Aladdin, Genie, Daisy, Minnie, Hook, a second Maleficent (my eldest daughter took the one we got) Ursula & Ariel. I'm sure the production run for this line is massive so I'll get them eventually...

Donald was the most impressive one to me. The proportions and the head sculpt were spot on. Mickey was a close second, but Donald takes the cake.

Now I want an angry Donald variant.

Man Syndrome is so goooood. Awesome hairpiece, and the prints are just wonderful for him, especially the metallic around his boots and arm! Mr Incredible is looking good too, through I might agree with jangbricks that he looks under scale compare to Syndrome lol, but no biggie in the end. Like his hairpiece a lot too.

And then there the Cheshire Cat that I ended up getting too, which the head mold is pretty well done and the prints go around his body nicely.

I saw the Disney minifies in a local department-style store. Felt up the little mermaid for my daughter.

They might otherwise be gone when I go back.
