Can somebody confirm if this is an accurate picture of the graphics?

In this very thread that image was proven wrong already. Take a look at the last few pages.

This might be a bit harsh but you guys that watch videos of games being played especially heavy story driven games just baffle me.

That should baffle you less than people watching videos of gameplay driven games. I can understand someone watching an Uncharted 4 play-through much more than I can understand someone watching a Bloodborne one.

Some people just want to experience the story and don't care about going through third-person shooting, light platforming and simple puzzle solving.

I mean, what are they really missing out on? Probably nothing that they haven't already experienced in some form.

Considering people are actually asking that question seriously, a lack of /s behind some of the replies may cause people to take it seriously.

It's pretty clear that while Uncharted 4 doesn't hit the visual fidelity of the E3 2014 trailer, the graphics will not disappoint. It is likely that the E3 2014 trailer was like the teaser trailer for Last Of Us. Like the Last Of Us trailer, the scene never appears in its current form and was likely prerendered on a farm of PS4s, which explains the near perfect AA and 60FPS. Perhaps it was running on NEO. There are a lot more rendering artifacts in the finished game even in the cut scenes.

Goddamnit, I love soundtracks....how is Henry Jackman still getting jobs? Dude is just awful.

Everything else sounds greath though, can't wait. One more week...

I've heard some of it. I'm not impressed. I honestly can't stand Jackman. He isn't objectively bad, but all his stuff sounds the same. He's like a worse James Horner (RIP). I was salty when he was announced as composer. His rendition of Nate's theme that I heard sounds like it would fit perfectly into Cap Winter Soldier and that isn't good. Which reminds me of how upset I am he is scoring what is effectively Avengers 3 (Civil War).

Have you heard it?

Well, there is one dude that didnt like the soundtrack and the then there is other that liked it.

So... guess it is better to wait and see (listen, heh). The music we have heard so far is great imo. The PSX demo was amazing. The one tune when Drake sees his brother for the first time again is awesome too. Etc.

True and I'll go in with an open mind either way. But I really dislike his work, it's just so boring and bad.

From the Multiplayer Stream:

"2:50 SanchoWest: Chat has been disabled due to avoid spoilers."

Thanks, Naughty Dog. You're doing it right.

I'm on chapter 12. So far, it's above UC2.

Im currently at the point where I've stopped comparing it to the past UC games. Trying to see how it stacks up to TLOU, which is my favorite ND game.

Have you had any issues with the tone or do you believe they found a nice balance?

At the end of the day, these "tone" and "theme" opinions are just that.. opinions. Nobody can really give you a right or wrong answer. As long as what they set out to do was enjoyable to me, the player then I'm all right with that.

the in game model is 1:1 with utscenes, I have some closeup pics of nate that are absolutely fucking ridiculous.

with i had a flash drive so i could upload them

this is insaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane

I don't understand those complaints at all. Since Civil War is coming out in a few days, I'll use the Marvel movies as an example to avoid spoilers.

Those movies are light-hearted in nature and filled with jokes. Serious scenes in those movies doesn't make the movie have a tonal conflict with itself.

This game has a tone that's more in line with reality compared to the past games. Adventuring fun, with a more grounded tone. Jokes aplenty but serious scenes when required.

It's about what you would expect given the setup the game has that I'm sure you have gleaned from the story trailers.

Thanks. You are definitely in the majority so far, but the last couple of pages did concern me a little.

Exactly. All this needless worrying seems silly. TLOU and UC are so far apart in theme I have no idea where this even comes from.

I'm surprised no one has brought up Winter Soldier to you yet in his defense. Like I said, I'm not a fan either. He is unremarkable.

Meh, that was mediocre as well. And I wish he had done something good with Civil War, my God was that soundtrack bad. That movie deserved so much better.

Yes, the game model is the same as cutscene model.
The cutscenes look amazing and then suddenly without any warning you are in control, and vice versa. Sometimes you are playing and a scripted dialogue scene with camera angles happens around your character.

It all just makes the game look like one seamless action movie-game from start to finish.

I wonder if Jackman took Naughty Dog's money and gave Marvel the music (Civil War soundtrack link).

There are a few moments in that soundtrack that make me think of Uncharted.

This does not sound good to me. Not in the least.

Well, looking less forward to tomorrow now. Alan Silvestri, Brian Tyler and Danny Elfman to pick from and Marvel gives me Henry Jackman. I'm coming to the conclusion he simply puts out passable work for a great price. That's the only reason that is logical. Hopefully Civil War as a film will drown out his score.

Split screen still a possibility in the future.

Expected. If you can see the veins in the ear of a QB NPC, I'd expect Nate's model and ND to deliver good stuff.

QB operates on a smaller scale and dedicates more of its computational budget to characters though.

Multiplayer stream is up on ND's twitch channel if anyone is interested.

As far as this thread goes. I highly doubt when its all said and done the story of this one will be inferior to U3's. That is just .... not possible. Ofcourse I haven't played the game but I just can not even imagine that being the case, so I am not worried.

I feel like the whole "tone" concern is a nitpick negative some people are trying to find. The game is just more grounded, and that was expected coming from the evolution narrative-wise and with characterization seen in TLOU. Naughty Dog is always maturing in those aspects and TLOU was their highest point yet (I would argue it was the highest point in the industry). Why would they step back from it?

Going from a adventure fiction tone to something more dour (for example) isn't a step forward. It isn't a step back. It would just be a change in tone, which some people might dislike.

I'm not sure if framing a change in tone/focus as a evolution is the most successful argument here
