Let's Talk about The Last Guardian

If it's a full price title, I hope it's not a short game. I mean, I'm all for quality of quantity, but at $60, 5-7 or so hours wouldn't cut it for me.

I think it will be good, I just hope Trico and the Boy live past the end.

What's the point? Team Ico is surely finished after this game releases. It doesn't matter if any of us live past the end.

This the part where people try to reassure you that a Team Ico game is a masterwork of emotional art unlike anything else out there. Unfortunately, that hasn't been true for years.

PS3 couldn't handle running this game, so I hesitate even calling it a PS3 game. It's only a thing still because the PS4 afforded them the power to make the game a reality.

And some high profile current gen Japanese games looks even inferior in alot of ways

I do hope the game gets slight upgrade at least :D

I'm gonna call it now: Trico dies attempting to protect the boy. The boy is actually a demon ( Dormin) and in anger unleashes his true form.
The guy's who are hunting him split him into 16 colossi... See where I'm going with this? This game will be a prequel to SOTC, the same way is SOTC is a distant prequel to Ico.

XD Eh, after all these years and delays, I expect at least 10+ hours of masterworked emotional art, at full price. lol

It's coming out tomorrow.

...

The fact that NOTHING new was shown of the game after E3 at any other trade show, not even new images or a scoop on Famitsu or anything at all (aside from a silly Trico tracking tech demo), I have my doubts that that shit was anything else other than Sony blowing smoke up our collective asses. It ain't ever coming out.

I'm finding it hard to care about this game anymore, which is weird, I was borderline in love with it a few years ago.

Did Y2Kev ever have to do anything other than get his tag changed? :p

Hello Ponies,

It has come to my attention that yet another E3 has passed and some vaporware trash game called The Last Guardian decided not to show its hideous face yet again. I know, I know. You have all heard my warnings and my decrees that you shouldn't be hyped for this game because it no longer exists. That you shouldn't be hyped for this game because it wouldn't be at E3. And that you shouldn't be hyped for this game because you look all sloppy when you get emotional and your makeup is terrible.

But of course some of you chose not to listen. You'll believe and believe and believe while Big Men in Suits tell jokes about NAPA VALLEY and preach to you about innovative crossmedia polymorphic free to play content.

The game's dead. If it isn't dead (which it is), it's been so dramatically retooled and reworked that it's not the game anymore and you should look forward to something new from the people that actually work at Sony Japan and not the corpses that failed on this game for over five years.

If someone from Team ICO or Sony would like to contact me to give me the full story of this game's development or explain why exactly we haven't seen anything from this game in four years, they can write it on some toilet paper and I'll wipe my ass with it cause this is all bullshit.

$60 releasing this year, will manage to amaze us with giant dog mechanics, just like we were surprised by holding hands and leading Yorda in Ico and climbing giants in Shadow of the Colossus.

I just hope its either longer than 10 hours or its a balls-to-the-wall amazing 10 hours of game.

gonna start a band called Giant Dog Mechanics

Now that Zelda isn't coming I have full faith in TLG (or FFXV) to be my goty, that is assuming it comes out this year which I believe it will.

August-September release. Something like the Until Dawn release window in 2015, that is when I expect it to drop

Yup. May for UC4, the chatter on the GT thread suggests the GTS beta will be June, and then there's NMS on 26/6.

Get those heavy hitters out of the way, TLG out late summer in the UD slot.

Or of course it becomes THE drop the mic moment at E3 with 'Available now on PS Store.'

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I've set my expectations very low, what they've shown was very basic and I just can't see a game as good as Ico or SOTC emerging from the disastrous development history. I really hope I'm wrong.

The game would get buried under everything else at e3 and without marketing it would be be biggest write off in gaming history.

That wouldn't happen

Gee, sure is easy for you guys to get your hopes up again. Would be a shame if something were to happen to them...

I think it will be good, I just hope Trico and the Boy live past the end.

My prediction is they'll both escape the ruins or wherever it is they're imprisoned, but they'll have to part because reasons, and the game will end on some excruciatingly sad farewell scene.

I'll be amazed if this both comes out this year and is decent - I'm estimating 70 on metacritic.

It will be kind of hilarious if Nintendo's E3 this year beats Sony last year for the number of 1st party games shown off that actually come out and are great before the following E3. TLG, FFVII remake, Shenmue, and Zero Dawn were the big ones that got people absurdly excited, and they're all still in the ether.

Quite surprised at the scepticism aimed at this. I think it's going to be amazing.

So refreshing to see something high-profile like this that looks so different to everything else.

With Horizon getting pushed back this will take its place.

You know what else is still in the ether? That one lone game that Nintendo's going to be showing at E3 this year.
