New Ghost Recon Wildlands Trailer Shows Off Diverse Environments
http://blog.ubi.com/new-ghost-recon-wildlands-trailer-shows-off-diverse-environments/

The last time we saw Ghost Recon Wildlands was at E3 2015, where we got our first look at a new squad of Ghosts against the backdrop of an open-world Bolivia conquered by the Santa Blanca drug cartel. Today, we have a new trailer that not only shows the Ghosts in action, but also gives a good look at the sheer variety of conditions and terrain they’ll be encountering on their mission.

From deserts and mountains to salt flats and jungle, each of these ecosystems presents different challenges that ultimately affect the way you might approach a mission. For example, the thick vegetation of the jungle will conceal your approach to a target, making it possible to sneak up and get the jump on them. Conversely, traversing arid mountains can leave you vulnerable to enemy attack, so an aerial insertion might be the best way to approach the situation. It’s not just Bolivia’s terrain that provokes strategic thinking. Different weather conditions like rain or fog can affect your visibility, potentially making it harder to spot enemies from a distance. In any case, the development team’s priority at Ubisoft Paris has been to make sure that the in-game Bolivia properly reflects the real-world Bolivia’s most extreme conditions.

Obviously, getting around a country with varied terrain requires the right kind of vehicles, and if the trailer is any indication, the Ghosts have no shortage of options for transportation. Buggies (with one member of the squad manning the Gatling gun), dirt bikes, and helicopters are all prevalent in the trailer, but there are some brief shots of Humvees, trucks, an APC, and even a patrol boat.

EDITIONS
Ghost Recon Wildlands is currently scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The Deluxe Edition will feature the Standard Edition of the game along with some exclusive in-game goodies, such as the Huntsman rifle and motorbike, three emblems, three weapon camo skins, three character customization items, and an XP booster. There will also be a physical version of the Deluxe Edition that includes an in-game map of Bolivia and a copy of the original soundtrack. Meanwhile, the Ghost Recon Wildlands Gold Edition includes the Deluxe Edition and the full Season Pass, which includes access to two major expansions and equipment packs, as well as exclusive vehicles and weapons. Finally, the Collector’s Edition contains a Santa Muerte figurine and collectible posters designed by Ken Taylor. All pre-orders will receive a bonus mission called The Peruvian Connection that puts the Ghosts in the mountains of Bolivia to take on not only the Santa Blanca, but also their Peruvian counterparts.

Hnnnnnng. I really hope it plays as well as SC Blacklist did. My one fear is that this is going to get Ubisofted and feel like The Division: Bolivia Edition or something.

That's some nice box art too.

Looks cool, if it has PvP I'm in. I've always enjoyed Ghost Recon's PvP. But, if its basically just The Division 2.0 then I might pass.

looks boring, i hope fans don't annoy us with the hype like they did with The division and we all know how that game turned out

Game looks cool. Definitely keeping my eye on it. Is this the only thing we've gotten from it since last E3?

50 Cent had a better skull though.

Looks great , I love the idea of tackling missions in any order and any way you choose , but I'm hoping that was not all smoke and mirrors like it usually is from Ubisoft .

Look forward to seeing more about how the game is structured.

Joking aside it looks great. Big GRAW fan so I want this to be good. Not got high hopes for any narrative though but as long as the gameplay is open and fairly tactical I'll be happy.

Game continues to look totally serviceable. I'm expecting a very standard open world Ubiquity experience, and I'm sure I'll enjoy about 15 hours of play before never picking it up again.

Looks like it could offer up some fun gameplay but I'm holding out for lots of footage to see what it's actually like. Ubisoft can create impressive maps but the rest can be so average and tedious.

For the love of god ubisoft. Pretend Future Soldier never existed in terms of multiplayer.

MP based on GRAW 2 and older please!

Give me room lists.

Let me host my own rooms.

Bring back in game clan tournaments.

After the Abortion that was Future Soldier, it will take a monumental achievement for me to get back into Ghost Recon. And that's coming from someone who played hundreds if not thousands of hours of the Games up until GRAW2... and then Future Soldier of Duty happened. eugh.

Hope to see some gameplay at E3.

Yeah, it will be a featured game at E3, not that I had doubts, but it's confirmed per the Playstation article.

Ghost Recon Wildlands: Capturing the Diversity of Bolivia
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/05/26/ghost-recon-wildlands-capturing-the-diversity-of-bolivia/

Authenticity is an important component of Ghost Recon Wildlands that not only extends to the Ghost’s and their gear, but also to the world. Because of where it’s situated in South America, Bolivia offers a combination of extreme climates and topography that you simply won’t find in a lot of other places, which is part of what makes it an ideal setting for our game, but also a challenging one to build. For the team to truly understand Bolivia’s ecological diversity and faithfully recreate it for Wildlands, it was important for us to experience it in person, so we took a trip.

Our goal was to ensure the world we built captured the essence of Bolivia and we returned to the studio with a better understanding of Bolivia’s environmental extremes and how people endure them. At 2.5 miles high on the Altiplano, the sun can burn the front of your body while the cold freezes your back. Meanwhile, down in the jungle, you have to contest with the crushing humidity and a constant barrage of mosquitos. Bolivian winters can be just as intense. Freezing temperatures and fog are your primary concerns.

stay tuned for more info at E3!

You didn't like the game that felt like one of those dollar tree knock-off games from some publisher no one has ever heard of?
