They just need to source current mass produced components
Done and Done
And it looks like thats what they are doing.
lol... wii market =/= me.
And if thats the case that will be 4 gens in a row not owning a nintendo console.
Obviously ill actually wait to see it for myself before I judge. But all i know is Nintendo focusing on "family" stuff is something I want no part of.
Just Dance now has a mobile companion app. JD2016 can be played on Wii U without a Wiimote.Well then, good luck about it.
Can't play Just Dance 2017 on NX without it.
Can you feel it?
Hmm... A "lapsed Wii player" to me is someone who enjoyed motion control. But the new Zelda seems to imply that the NX will have traditional controls. Guess we will see.
Funny enough, if you watch Breath of the Wild, it features the most boring, downright safe traditional interface i' ve seen from Nintendo in the last years. That's concerning. I despise the Wii.
If it has a motion controller then I'll be skipping it.
Surely the Wii remotes aren't coming back again right..right?
All this says to me is that they want a wide audience to buy the NX unlike the Wii U. Is this not the goal of every console? I personally would not read into it too much.
That said, I do think Nintendo has a difficult road ahead do them.
Slightly confused...
Wasn't the WiiU also familly focused?
Can you blame them? Nintendo hasn't done much since the wii to inspire confidence that they will do right by its fans and their expectations. Nintendo knows that no matter what, their hardcore fans will suck it up and buy their console for their great games and will keep chasing the wii crowd.I'd wait for other statements before reading too much into it (even if it's too late because nintendoomed as usual)...
Why are people jumping to negative conclusions? The Wii was an amazing system. It got third party support
This is absolutely the market Nintendo must address.
Like the Wii, Nintendo must address the casual, enthusisast, lapsed, family, female and children market that those other two manufacturer's do not cater to.
Produce a console that is so cheap, that the casual and "hardcore" cannot pass up - if only for the Nintendo games they can't get elsewhere.
Nah, he is talking about the family market or the broader market compared to WiiU's niche of nintendo faithfuls.Hmm... A "lapsed Wii player" to me is someone who enjoyed motion control. But the new Zelda seems to imply that the NX will have traditional controls. Guess we will see.
Yea, not a good sign.
Ubisoft, only 3rd party to be interested and has knowledge of the NX.
Sounds like the Wii and Wii u.
Hopefully i'm wrong.
Speculation on one quote and all...
The Wii's sales numbers were a complete fluke and not indicative of where the video game market is heading. People wanted Wii sports for the novelty and once the luster of new wore off, Wii consoles the world over universally sat under TVs collecting dust.
But don't jump to negative conclusions. He could mean the NX can play cellphone games for all we know, but have SCD to boost power. Not the third party support most people here would care about
Exactly. That ship sailed.I think the Wii market was a flash in the pan, those people have moved to mobile games
Not the third party support most people here would care about
Hopefully this will be their last console iteration/failure and they'll finally move onto being a software company and put their games on other platforms. It's inevitable.

In what way?
Link is right handed in the demo, I thought people were suggesting that was because the game is being built with motion controls as a possibility too?
Come on $199!
Nintendo already has a loyal fanbase but it's too small to really support today big productions.I'm not sure they will be able to do that. Miyamoto also basically told them to fuck off, so maybe Ubi means that the NX concept is something that can appeal to that audience as well, but i don't see Nintendo going all in for an audience that is not going to be "loyal". That was one of the main problems in going from Wii to Wii U: the non-gamer audience didn't stick around and went mobile instead (or they just kept playing on the Wii in addition to that).
Ugh, doesn't inspire confidence that this the big graphical upgrade that I want.
Dammit Nintendo why can't you just match MS and Sony?
How many Wii U-sized flops is it going to take?
I would be elated if they went 3rd party. I want their games, but I don't want to buy their systems.
Let's wait for someone from Nintendo to talk about a Nintendo console
Those markets are already catered to on mobile and PC though.
