Yu-Gi-Oh! Community |OT2| You just activated my trap card!

I play ygopro everyday and this is awesome! One thing that would be cool though is if you could restrict decklists by banlist and by the available card pool (TCG vs OCG). I play with friends and we play strictly with TCG legal cards only.

That would be a nice feature to add to the site, cheers! I'll add it to my massive website TODO list for now. I'm going to be working on this site for many months!

Guess that leaked list for INOV is true, look forward to Qli and Yang Zing support in this set as well.

INOV-JP060 Red-Eyes Insight
Normal Spell Card
You can only activate 1 “Red-Eyes Insight” per turn.
(1) Send 1 “Red-Eyes” monster, except “Red-Eyes B. Chick” from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard; add 1 “Red-Eyes” Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand, except “Red-Eyes Insight”.

Why don't they like red-eyes b. chick? such an adorable card.

I think his japanese name is something like Black Dragon Hatchling. So he's not a red eyes.Early YGO translations were a mess...thanks to them we have stuff like this

EDIT: Fun fact, did you guys know that all Booster Packs starting on Series 2 follow a specific color pattern?

Not sure if this is the place for this, but I have a TONS of the older cards and don't know what to do with them. I'd love to get some $ off them, but does anyone have suggestions for the best way to sell?

I like how 90% of anime episodes have battles won by top deck Pot of Greed into exact two card combination to finish the duel.

Pot of Greed over powered even in the anime!

Can anybody give a quick and dirty insight as to the state of this game?

Last time I played, me and a buddy were desperately trying to summon each others Tuner's from each others graveyards. The game basically devolved into packing your extra deck with Star Dust dragon and stealing Tuner's. Is this the extent of what it is with Pendulum monsters?

No, Pendulum monsters by design are a tool to enable other types of summons.

Pendulums Make tributing, fusing, syncing, ritual and Xyz so much easier that you can even use all these mechanics in a single deck.

Look at this Pendulum for example, its sole existence is to make fusions easier for you

Stardust Dragon is still a great card though, Just not game defining anymore.

good ol pendulums, I remember using full power pepe on devpro. First turn infinity, backrow full of solemns, and then drop an azathoth on your opponents turn.

I felt bad doing that, how can you get over that shit.

I have been watching Arc V, these days it is a mix of "I drew all 3 copies of my monster in my opening hand" and "This card can be special summoned from my hand after I just did what I did". The decks are all about the tribal synergy.

Actually playing the game, there are just too many cards to know where to get started, especially in the online versions that just give you everything.

I think my biggest problem with the meta became:

I have a Fiend Deck, BUT I need Stardust Dragon to keep up with the meta. Therefore destroying my Dark Necromancer/Ojamight strategy because now Stardust is in my graveyard.

It's good then that Pendulum exists TO ENHANCE, EXISTING cards and decks.

I got some Millenium Packs last week, I got a Phoenix Mode Ra and a Card of Demise.

I don't really play anymore, though.

when i got back into playing and not knowing a damn thing about xyz, synchros, and pendulums, I just looked online and copied a chain burn deck. None of these new summoning methods, able to actually win, good for making people salty. I learned how to use xyz and stuff by watching my opponent, eventually my burn deck morphed into a Rank 10 Train deck and I finally felt comfortable.

She's gotta fight soon.

That's what I've been hoping but
Alexis is acting as a knight in shining armor for her at the moment, so my hopes are slowly slipping.

Release order though I am probably gonna skip either Zexal or 5DS. Kinda want to get to Arc V soon.

And yeah GX is no where as good as DMs. For one there's no good over arching story, it's just rando kids in high school dueling each other. Occasionally you have dark duels but no one seems to be bothered about getting their soul snatched so the stakes are all pretty low. I just got past the Mythical Demons part and now Jaden is in his 2nd year with now them doubling up on the school stuff. I don't mind that stuff but it's god damn 60 episodes of it thus far and still have a long way to go.

Id say Arc V is better if you watch the previous series, as it constantly takes themes and references from them and twists them...

But ZEXAL is a whole other level of bad,I mean Gx at least has likeable characters. ZEXAL has 2 and it spends the end part ruining them both.

So I say you skip that one. If you dislike low stakes you will probably hate the ridiculous amount of literal plot armor Yuma gets.

High and personal stakes is japanese 5D's in a nutshell.

My personal opinion of course.

Zexal sounds god awful, but watching Arc V makes me want to go back and actually watch 5DS. No clue if its any good though.

5Ds is similar to Bleach in that it has a VERY strong first major arc and then falls off a cliff right after it. That first arc is well worth the watch though, you can even pretend its the series ending like I did.

Also, its a shame Zexal looks so awful, since Xyz is by far my favorite summoning method in Arc V, and seems the most flexible (As far as I see, you could literally just add Xyz cards to the extra deck of an old deck, and it would be a straight upgrade until the point you max out the Extra deck.)

Card of Demise goes for a lot, you should sell it if you don't play anymore.
I'll rep Melodious...I'm here waiting, and probably gonna be kept waiting till after ARC-V ends, aren't I?
I like Melodious too, the newer support isn't good :<
At least Serena's cards got a good buff!

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet

GX gets pretty crazy here soon, and honestly in a good way.

I recommend everyone watch Season 4 once in their lives, that shit was wack.

This is so true, if you want to use a Fusion you have to run some sort of Polymerization spell card and the required monsters, if you want to use Synchros you have to run Tuners.

You don't have these kinds of restrictions with Xyz.

5Ds season 1-2 are god tier and their ending really feels like a series ending despite minor plot threads left unanswered

It's sad to know that season 3 was not even remotely close to what the writers and directors wanted, even if it has some great moments it throws all the good in favor of making Yusei a frienship speech machine. Still I think 5D`s is still really good if you adjust your expectations for season 3

The 5Ds crew are working on Arc V so you know that they are more talented than that.

Zexal sounds god awful,

Oh it´s beyond awful for me. I tried to force myself into liking it, "Old YGO was too dark, this is for the kids"...all those excuses, I made.

But then the plot armor happened. And it only got worse with the plot twists...
"The best character in the show actually died in a car crash years ago and has been a reincarnated evil alien all this time! And he goes with it because reasons despite hating the aliens an episode ago! Oh did I mention that the second best character dies while fighting in the moon because the duel breaks his space suit?"

ZEXAL sits with Eureka Seven AO as the only animes so unbelievably awful they made me think less of the originals. For reference, I enjoyed freaking SAO.

Watching
Yuto drop Dark Rebellion in that warehouse
in Arc-V is a much better introduction to the Xyz Mechanic. I don't even remember the first Xyz summon in ZEXAL

Is there any kind of resource for finding out if there are shops that host casual play or unofficial tournaments in your area? It's so hard for me to find other people to play with offline.

Well I fished all the Arc V released, so now I guess I'll watch GX. Its bugging me so much that they are playing mobsters in face up defense, it isn't legal move! Also the slower duel pace and normal monsters is jaring.

Zexal was the first series to closely follow TCG rules.

Whoa, the bosses for the new themes in INOV are an Accel Synchro and a Rank 8 Xyz that supports Gemini monsters.
Pretty interesting
Crystron Phoenixion
Level 9 WATER Machine-Type Synchro Effect Monster
ATK 2800
DEF 2000
Materials: 1 Synchro Tuner + 1 or more Synchro non-Tuner monsters
(1): If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can banish all Spell and Trap Cards your opponent controls and in their Graveyard. (2): If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 other monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Chou Kagoujuu Methane Hyd
Rank 8 FIRE Beast-Warrior-Type Xyz Effect Monster
ATK 3000
DEF 3000
Materials: 2 Level 8 Gemini Monsters |
(1) When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can target 1 Gemini Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.
(2) While this card has Xyz Material, your opponent cannot target Gemini Monsters you control for an attack, or for a card effect.
(3) When a Gemini Monster is Normal Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; your opponent sends 1 card from their hand or their side of the field to the Graveyard (for no effect).

....except we don't have Lamia until 2017 :'(

The Destiny Heros have left with me some mixed feelings. Dark Angel sounds hilarious if slow when combined with Diamond Dude; it can pitch itself to revive itself and eat up space on an opponent's field or as a target for piercing, and once it's in the grave you can use it to stack Destiny Draw using Diamond Dude's effect, or something more cheesy like Raigeki.

In fact most of the cards seem to be centered around burn effects or effects that set you up for your next turn, like Decisionguy's search. Seems like they took the Diamond Dude approach and ran with it all the way, tbh.

Man finally finished YGO GX. That was a big slog, I think I slept watched through most of it and a lot of the time I just had it on the background.

I think most of the key plot developments and character changes occur very late into the series and those were the strongest aspect of the show but you had to wade through a lot of mediocrity to get to it. Final episode was cool though and I kinda liked Jaden's growth as a character.

Kinda sucks that Zane developed a heart arythmia and can't duel anymore... would've loved to have him fight Jaden for his graduation fight.

I started 5DS and man it's so much better than GX. Better writing, interesting aesthetic/back drop, non annoying characters, superior animation, soundtrack, better pacing and a better story arc right off the bat. Plus 5DS seems catered to a slightly older audience as well, hopefully they retain that flavor.

I was skeptical on the whole duels on bike gimmick but it's surprisingly hype.

Yes, 5D's is pretty great.

I feel I need to tell you, as I always tell this story to new 5D's viewers

While 5D's season 1-2 are some of the best YGO ever, it kinda drops the ball on S3.

Reason for this is that a VA royally fucked up and involved the show in quite a big scandal, forcing the writers to change course to avoid reminding people of the fuck up. It results in a pretty mediocre tournament arc with lots of character assasinations.

The writers are directors did their best though, as it's still ok (with some super hype stuff). But they were severely gimped through development of S3. So adjust expectations past S2.

Also, the writing team is ok now, most of them are working on ARC-V, and it shows

I'm watching GX, the episode they fight Jinzo, and I'm mad. Judai could have just won if he used the effect of the magic card on the field, instead of destroying it. And no one pointed it out.
