Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 reviews and benchmarks

The nice thing about EVGA is that the fans don't spin in desktop mode and only like 1300rpm in games.

Can't hear it. My chip is limited to a 1900 OC

When is the super cheap 1080 version coming out? Like 600 dollar version? I am going to out a water block on it so jo need for fancy cooler

Just bought the Zotac 1080 AMP Extreme! Can't wait for next week.

Anyone here have experience with Zotac and EVGA. My last two cards were EVGA.

Congrats! I've had mine for two nights and have been loving 4K gaming on tons of games that I didn't know supported 4K. I haven't been able to figure out a good overclock method, but I'm rather new to that.

Just a few things: it's a BIG card. It's actually blocking two of my SATA ports, so I had to get rid of my Blu-Ray drive. Maybe I can get a right-angled SATA cord to work, but it's a tight fit.

Before I removed my Blu-Ray Drive, I tried the disc install. It was unresponsive and didn't run the drivers, so I had to contact Zotac's live chat service, and they gave me a link to a working driver.

Think it was EVGA that had one version for $619 or something. It still uses their ACX 3.0 cooler, but that shouldn't matter if it's one of the cheapest cards available.

But EVGA has also been really bad when it comes to getting cards out there now. I had a pre-order for over a month that I cancelled yesterday when my MSI card arrived.

Very nice, just a bit boring in the looks department.

This comes out in mid July if it's more to your liking

Doesn't look as cheap as the seahawk imo

Hate the look of the tubing + pump/res on all of these AIOs, looks horrendous imo

I'm kinda intrigued to get a mini custom loop (small pump/res combo + 140mm rad) going for my FTW since Pascal benefits greatly from temps and all.

Are you looking at anything in particular? Didn't know we could do this yet. I don't know how these things work lol. I do know that EVGA Jacob said that the FTW cards where getting AIO kits though. I don't know when.

Newegg had FTWs up for like 2 secs, couldn't snag one , was driving when I got text from nowinstock. This sucks.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
You're right, shouldn't get on people for making horrible decisions and creating a worse and worse Nvidia monopoly in the marketplace. It's none of my business.

This is neither here nor there, but I don't think someone who proudly stated that they "use [G2A] often" is in a position to claim the moral high ground by way of chastising others for engaging in behaviour that can be viewed as encouraging bad business practices. You and I are, as consumers, well within our right to seek out the best deal, of course, but there's no perspective from which knowingly purchasing resold keys is even remotely a good thing for the video game industry.

Aaaand I gave up on waiting for the Gigabyte Xtreme, caved, and went for the MSI Gaming X after seeing that eBuyer UK had them in stock. Been rocking a MSI 680 since I got this rig and it's been solid, so I think I'm fine with it.
Holy shit look at this confirmation bias lol.

Really quite salty at Gigabyte putting out fuck all information about the Xtreme's release date though. Given how early it was teased, the assumption was that it'd be out in some sort of reasonable timeframe. Now I'm looking at the product page and seeing this shit:
Pffft. Utter failure to shut up and take my money.

...Okay, meltdown over.

They're gonna be selling those AIOs for like 100 bucks, normal and ftw editions.

Not much of a fan of CLC AIO kits, neither looks nor the throwaway nature of them.
EKWB will release the FTW blocks end of July supposedly. I haven't pinned down anything in particular yet, just read up on some basics of custom loop water cooling. It's my first time too so I'm probably the wrong guy to ask :p

Was thinking about using this little combo res (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-xres-100-spc-60-mx-pwm-incl-pump) with either a single or dual 140mm rad (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-ce-280-dual) and the Noctua NF-A14s I already use as case fans currently. Tubing, fittings and coolant I have not yet decided on, pretty overwhelming trying to get a grasp of all the required stuff at once hah.

Pretty sure OCUK said the Xtreme is coming next week.

Wow, fuck Asus.

Time to read up on some reviews then to see if I go EVGA or Gigabyte (had a bad prior experience with MSI, never again).

Yup, fuck them and MSI. I'm going with Gigabyte or GALAX(HoF, not that ugly clown). Gigabyte said they won't be raising their prices.

I'd honestly pick up a 480 if I was still on my 1080p non GSync monitor and be done with nVidia at this point too. Whole thing is a huge mess between lack of stock and the founders edition bullshit.

Well if I get my Asus Strix replacement from newegg (I'll know by Monday), I'll be selling an unopened Evga 1080 FTW to anybody who wants to buy it.

Just have to pay for shipping + MSRP price ($679.99).

This is getting ridiculous... I jump on a FTW on Newegg practically the instant they pop up as "In Stock", and in the twenty or so seconds it took to check out, "This item has been removed from your cart because it is no longer in stock". What the fuck. What are they getting, like two of them at a time?

Planning on snagging a 1080 in the next week or two! What would be a good card to pick that has a good cooling solution for someone who is just going to play at 1080p that isn't going to OC their card?
I wanna keep a look out for that since they seem to be disappearing fast.

EVGA notified me via email that they have FTW cards in stock. I think I read the email a bit too late.

Anyways, fuck Amazon and whoever is responsible for this clusterfuck. We had to go through nerve wrecking shit to pre-order, and we get rewarded by waiting for over a month when the damn cards are in stock.

I honestly forgot about the damn thing. The only thing that reminded me about upgrading is how shitty Doom is on the 780.

Happened to me with the Gigabyte when they announced it would be up at 6pm. I asked GIgabyte on Facebook, and they said it was hundreds that they sent Newegg.

Weird, man.

Got my 1080 FTW on Tuesday and haven't looked back. I'm amazed the 1080 is so scarce at this point, massive demand or lack of supply?

"We sent them hundreds! HUNDREDS!"

This is just funny to me, they are still selling out instantly when they come up on Newegg. Nowinstock is a madhouse.

Both. They are not mutually exclusive.

After waiting over a month for Amazon to get shipments, I had enough. I spent most of the day today CTRL+R Newegg's EVGA FTW page, with alerts through nowinstock. I finally got through. Having to do this is ridiculous though.

I'd order from Newegg except for the fact that I have over $200 in credit on Amazon's site ready to use and Newegg still wants to charge $25 to ship an order to me.
