PAC-MAN Champion Edition 2 - Trailer - September (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Do yourself an amazing service and check out the REAL Pac-Man Arrangement, originally released in 1996, if you haven't yet tried it:

That game implemented many of the same ideas, but with faster, more entertaining gameplay, and also included 2P simultaneous play. Console ports of this game are included in the Namcomuseum collections on PS2/Xbox OG/GameCube, as well as on the GBA Pac-Man Collection.

Yessir, I recently got my PS2 set up again and I am seeking this version out. That's one reason I played through the other version today.

I'm gonna buy the hell out of this.

I also want them to include multiplayer, because Pac Man Battle Royale at the arcades is the best thing in the universe.

Looking at the trailer a few more times, I like a lot of what the game seems to be doing. Gohst bumping, having the four ghosts becoming trains that can be bumped to turn into super-Gohsts (that are presumably worth more points and can still rack up a train), teleports on the mazes, and grabbing enough pellets eventually generating fruit that takes you to the next maze kinda like DX. I feel like it's trying to make something much different to CE and DX, which I'm fine with. What I'm not fine with are the boss Gohsts that probably fuck with everything, and the stupid cutscenes where Pac-Man jumps off the board. If those can't be disabled, this'll be a hard sell.

I want to be hyped (okay, I am), but it looks more like the inferior DX than the superior CE.

It's kind of hard to tell for 100% though, still a DAY ZERO cause DX wasn't exactly a slouch on its own.

Is it worth it to pick up the OG pacman CE if I already own DX
Yeah, they are different games (unfortunately, the nomenclature doesn't help illustrate that).

CE is the better game, in my opinion, it's a better evolution of the original Pac-Man formula and requires more from the player, where DX tries to do a little something new with it.

Pastagames have anything to do with this?
Doesn't look like they had a hand in it directly. Pix is the first thing I thought of when I saw him going further into the maze, guess I wasn't the only one.

“Currently under development at Bandai Namco Studios Inc. in Tokyo, Japan; Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 features new eye-popping 3D mazes with unique visuals, a wide variety of dynamic mazes, the new ability to bump ghosts, and the addition of intense, giant-sized ghost boss battles,” Bandai Namco noted in a press release sent to GamesBeat.

Am I the only one that preferred the original Pac-Man CE to the DX version?

I liked DX's gameplay additions but the graphics and gimmicks got a little heavy, and this looks like simply too much.

Yeah, I mostly agree with this.

Yea I thought CE was much better then DX and this trailer is giving mad DX vibes.

DAYYYYY ONEEE.

Still no Vita... :(

Hey, is the PS Mini version of Pac-Man CE (non-DX) worth coming back to if you're used to the DX version? I'd still like to have it on the go for Vita, ya know?

Dead Rising Port and Pac-Man CE 2 all in the same week. I can't handle this GAF

It's fun as something to play casually, but the timing is off compared to the console version, so it throws off people used to doing score attack runs on the proper version(s).

So much Pac-Man goodness.

I've been playing Pac-Man 256 on PS4 as a great pick up and play game. Obviously it doesn't hold a candle to CE, DX, or Arrangement, but it's a good game regardless and a fun twist on the formula.

Namco has been doing great with the license lately.

I hope they greenlight a Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness sequel after or something more styled like the Pac-Man World games, rather than more games based on the cartoon.

Platformers or maze games, please. Combat arenas of the recent 3D games are no good.

whoa.. last night I was thinking about the 360 versions of this before I went to bed (DX and CE were my possibly my favorite games last gen).

I was also dreaming of what other games this formula could be applied to (keep thinking Donkey Kong).

Now today I find out there is going to be a sequel!!! I love it! Totally made my day

So no one complains that this has retro graphics but somehow Mighty n9 was meant to look like Uncharted 4?

I'd give anything for MN9 to have one tenth of the graphical and presentational creativity of the modern maze-based Pac-Man series.

Awesome <3 It's one of my all-time favorites and I hope you love it too =)

Hopefully you are aware that PMBR has already come home, at part of the "Pac-Man Museum" digital-exclusive collection?

Wait, what? Pacman CE2 is a thing??? Holy crap! I got the first one for free on PSN and as someone who isn't a fan of the original Pacman I thought it was amazing. Can't freakin' wait.

There are few things in gaming that make me happier than Namco's dedication to periodically refreshing the classic Pac-Man formula. There are so many other classic franchises that would kill for this sort of love.
