It will be interesting to see if this the reaction many PS4 buyer will have, could be result a big backlash for Sony.
Or, on the other hand, are people already used to such upgrades that whey will accept them on consoles too?

I'd love to have it out around December this year, when the tax returns come.
As long as the marketing points are about 4K Blu-ray player and video. I don't think there'd be much outrage.

Like I didn't know that already mate... This is not what I meant, it's like Shuhei Yoshida said Neo is still PS4 and they are the same console with the same identical support.
And I don't see a new improved controller... The same DS4 will apply on both.
Gona be seeing a lot of tears next month as Sony will be evily rubbing their hands together. mooooahahaha
We've known this was coming since early in the year, and Sony officially confirmed it prior to E3.

I know someone who is selling his Xbox One to buy a PS4 this month (he wants to play the next CoD on the most powerful system... switched PS3 to Xbox last gen for this and the 1 month before maps or whatever they gave Xbox owners. Two people from his "team" made the switch like a week ago). He doesn't follow gaming news so not sure he'll be aware of this before the end of the month.

I will tell him today but since he wants to sell his Xbox One a decent price he's been screwed by the recent One S launch and now he won't have enough money for Neo anyway... good game bot MS and Sony lol He'll end up hating both of you
A lot of gamers would be happy to jump and buy the "best" system but this will not please everyone :/
I'm just hoping devs won't be too ambitious with graphics and target things that won't be feasible or will be broken day one :/

You have the same even if this was just a regular slim revision.
Shit I just bought a OG PS4 now the slim is here... Especially since historially that means the OG gets sold off cheap, or the slim is coupled with a price cut. That is unlikely to happen here.

Come on. The Wii HD? The PS4 can play the Xbox 360 games? (yes...) How many ridiculous "exclusives" did they announced? I mean they have like 5 to 10 "exclusives" or "insider stuff" every week... Of course sometimes it turns out to be true.

If he cares about getting the most powerful system then tell him to wait for the Xbox Scorpio. Otherwise he'll go to the PS4 then find out the Neo is stronger then go to Neo and find out the Scorpio is stronger. He could wait a few months and play on the guaranteed most powerful console without leaving the Xbox ecosystem he's already in.
Marketing deals won't change though. PlayStation will get maps first and be the platform of choice for tournaments. If that matters to him then make sure he knows that as well.

This rumor seems to be very plausible to me.
I was claiming that the thread turned into a gameblog.fr bashing thread but if it's proven that the big majority of their news is trash then some are right, maybe they should be banned for less confusion :/
I'm still expecting both reveal in September though (NX and PS4K).
The most important games for him and his team are CoD and Fifa so they are buying this every year. They'll surely find a way to switch to Scorpio next year... I find this to be stupid but if they have the money (even if it require selling a few other things or doing extra hours at work) they'll do it :/
Maybe one day they'll learn the lesson and stop. With both MS and Sony introducing half-gen updates they won't keep changing system every year for long that's for sure.
I can try but he won't wait, for him the best system when Cod is out wins (graphical power, online community, DLC exclusives or timed exclusives are his criteria). He doesn't care for the ecosystem or other games (and gaffers should realize that it's the case for a very big part of more casual gamers), he doesn't even play other games. He played Titanfall and GTA V but in the 2-3 past years that's about it with CoD and Fifa (and I offered him Titanfall).

One would almost assume the 'Day 1 patch late september, mandatory from october' in the leaked documents gave some sort of indication that the neo will release in october...
Like I said: wouldn't it be super weird to see a game in stores with 'NEO MODE INCLUDED' on the case but not be able to play it on your console?
