I was just thinking back on this summer's movies and realized "oh yeah, I saw that X-Men movie too."

I can't remember a damn thing about that movie.

This is my favorite x men movie now, you should watch it again. Apocalypse was every bit as ridiculous as he should be.

Just the other day I forgot that I didn't go to see it.

But I did go see it and I forgot that I saw it.

We're soulmates OP

I think we've reached the point where, at least for me, comic book movies have all become a blur. I keep trying to remember things from X-Men and I think I'm mixing it up with Batman v Superman.

Edit: and the second Avengers movie.

I feel the same way about Ghastbasters, Ster Trak, Ciptan Emerica Cavil Were and Suparman bin Batmin

I imagine Jennifer Lawrence has had the same thought seeing as she was sleepwalking throughout the entire movie.

the x-men films in general feel so irrelevant at the moment. apocalypse's box office reflected that.

did you know there's a new wolverine movie coming in less than a year?

Serviceable performances from the entire cast, a ton of poor dialogue, subpar action, uninteresting villain, generic story, and no significant plot developments when all said and done.

Easy to see why you forgot it. It's like everything people criticize about superhero movies all rolled into one.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Like most recent superhero films, it threw way too much shit at the screen. I don't know that the story was or why I was supposed to care about what was happening. Non-comic fans want a good story first and foremost, that's why they liked X2, TDK, Spider-Man 2 etc. They told stories that always came back to the humanity of the main characters, stories that the general audience could relate to, the stakes never left the audience behind.

Nowadays they jam in as many characters as they can and call it a day. Movies like BvS, Apocalypse, Suicide Squad, Age of Ultron, they have no story and are just a series of stupid events that culminate in some dumb CGI ending with a hundred different heroes that nobody cares about. They can be entertaining on a purely visual level but I never feel any tension or emotion, quips and action set-pieces have replaced actual character work.

Sweet dreams are made of these. Scene was amazing.

At least if you forgot finding dory I would have had a chuckle.

Gaf posters have horrible memory.

I did the same thing a few days ago. What an awful movie. Not quite as bad as X-Men 3 or Wolverine Origins but the worst comic book movie this year.

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
It's a pretty forgettable movie. And yet it still wasn't even the worst of the blockbusters this summer.

I actually really enjoyed XM:A.

The characters were well rounded, the action was great, Apocalypse was very well realised.

The only issue I have is how inconsistent Apocalypses power was at times. He could reduce people/objects to dust, he could amplify the powers of other mutants, yet he seemed to be arbitrarily limited at times.

Why didn't he just reduce the X-Team to ash, why did he even need Magneto to reshape the Earth, etc...

It's really difficult to work with powers like this and keep it consistent, I know, but the MCU seem to be able to do it and make it feel balanced enough. X-Men films always seem to fail with this aspect.
