Left a planet where I was farming pearls in caves, then landed on a moon with Vortex Cubes littered EVERYWHERE. Yesssss. The farming continues with new scenery.

So an odd encounter. This is like my 5th time visiting a space anomaly.

Palo wants me to survive on extreme climate planes for the level 3 milestone. After that I talked to nada. The text described a flash of red on his face and then it was gone. Said that we weren't friends anymore.

I must have the most bugged copy around, this shit happens every hour or so:

Sometimes I get lucky and stay in the atmosphere, other times I get launched right into space.

Ohhh fuck.
No more shortcuts via blackholes then?
I'd be pissed if he unfriends me. How have you been playing the game in regards to lifeforms and the sentinals? Aggressive approach or pasifict? I'm wondering if your play style has anything to do with this.

The yellow path doesn't exist as such. The "path to center" option is just generated from your current system based on the capabilities of your hyperdrive. You can't lose it, but it also won't be the same exact path

Perfect. That's what I was hoping for. Guess I'll try a random system next time I jump!

Something similar happen to me, not to that extreme lol but I guess its the way the ship is parked on the ground.

It's been normal. I've honestly have told the Atlas to fuck off at least 3 times now. If I find a 6th station I'll see what he says.

It still gave me the option to select black holes but my goal isn't to get to the center.

Also has anybody gone to an Interface and Said no? Its intresting what the text says.

This has happened to me 4 or 5 times already. Sometimes it's actually convenient, since I wanted to leave anyway, lol. But yeah kind of bizarre and annoying.

That last part is so cool and I love how they've written stuff like this into the game. I love weird shut like that and how it's just left in your lap to consider. Cool.

So, doing a local scan of discoveries, I Found that someone named their solar system "Earth." Lol. I set a waypoint for it, so once I Finish visiting this next station, I'm going to head there before continuing my random exploration.

Not burned out on the game yet, which surprises me. Considering that games like Skyrim, Fallout, The Witcher 3, etc, etc, burned me out really fast, I'm impressed by how much this game has its hooks on me.

I was looking at my Youtube streams, and they're roughly about 20 hours. And that doesn't include the 6+ hours I didn't stream. I feel like I'll be ready to take a break after I get the Atlas passes, max out my suit inventory, and find a badass ship and multitool. Those hooks, along with wanting to see what the next star system holds, it's what keeping me playing. I hate the idea of so many star systems going unseen. It's as bad as when I think about all of our real life star systems that will never be seen. It bums me out!

[...]Its intresting what the text says.

I know you're being somewhat vague, but these kind of comments should probably be spoilered. In general I've noticed there's way too much loose talk about the Atlas path in this thread (which is the main narrative), as well as people describing dialogue with aliens, etc. These are part of the secrets/surprises/lore of the game and should be treated as such.

A Gek gave me a warp drive theta. Then the game crashed. :(
The crashing is a big problem.

Have had half a dozen or more so far, to the point where I play defensively, not straying too far before making sure I've popped in and out of the ship or activated a new beacon. Besides that I've had a few containers that required a bypass chip to open that would still tell me I needed one even after crafting one and trying several times. Otherwise things have been stable, but with connectivity being spotty, though that hasn't led to any issues.

Any realistic timetables for the next patch?

Oh...oh god.

I was up on a tower of heridium looking down at my surroundings and I noticed a bunch of aquatic creatures swimming in the water. Like a good 20-30 of them.

These are the first aquatic creatures I've seen in 50 hours, so I thought it was pretty cool, and I dove in for a closer look.

THEY WERE GROSS FUCKING WORMS WITH FISH TAILS. GOD.

I started murdering them and they scattered.

All 10 need to be in your inventory not on the ship

I'm getting this bug where I mine rare minerals (aluminium, emeril, iridium, etc) and I get nothing. It shows my mining them but nothing pops up like "Emeril x4" and nothing shows up in my inventory. I have plenty of free spots. I've already restarted the game.

Any ideas?

I have had the same thing happened to me. It seems to happen most often with Iridium. I don't know if it's a bug or intended behavior.

Is the room where your PS4 is hot? Does it have plenty of ventilation? Some people seem to crash much more than others, so I wonder if there's an external factor. This game has to be driving the CPU really hard. But I don't know if it's crashing on PC just as much.

I've "only" had two crashes, but connectivity is an issue for me...I'm always afraid to upload anything I've named without being connected to the server. Last night it was down during my whole play session.

Alright will do from now on!

Thanks man!

A busted ship still managing to hover somehow!

Can't keep a good ship down!

"Whoa, new aquatic creatures to explore!"
*upon closer inspection*
"I shall put you all out of your misery for nothing this ugly was meant to survive."

The way upgrades are handled in this game really makes me mad.

I finally finished upgrading my warpdrive and a whole bunch of other ship and multi tool stuff after farming for things.

I go to the space station a jump later and the guy wants to give me a multitool with 4 more slots on it, but all the upgrades were for the bolt blaster and I had none of the materials to remake mine. I backed out to see about dismantling mine and then taking his but he wouldn't offer it to me again.

Then I went to scout out a crashed ship which was a 24 slotter compared to me 19 slot ship but it only came with beam and blaster upgrades and I'd have to repair them anyways.

Aughh why cant you just uninstall a tech and install it on another thing, that makes getting things with more slots feel like a huge hassle

This.

So very this.

How/where do I get a better multi-tool or increase its slot capacity? After 2 days of playing, I have a 22-slot ship and an 18-slot suit, but still the same 5-slot multi-tool I started with. I have a ton of upgrade techs I could install for it, if only I had any free slots to spare.

Hit the jackpot with my latest newly discovered system. First planet I land on is a gorgeous snowscape, with the green nebula visible outside of the system casting an amazing Aurora Borealis across the night sky. Second planet is an irradiated desert but with red, blue and green crystals and deposits of gold and aluminum stretching as far as the eye can see and ripe for mining!

Great, I didn't even get to try out the newly discovered magic of the double-zoom on the flying fiends because once again I couldn't resist pursuing a planet's last remaining species for ages. This shouldn't be fun, yet it somehow is. It's like Pokemon in video game form. Heh.

I like the challenge and the hassle. Feel more hands on and what not.
I totally appreciate the challenge of an initially very limited inventory and wouldn't have it any other way, but I agree the upgrades could've been handled better. Not a fan.

Pic? I have yet to see any auroras.

My quest for a 40+ inventory ship (without having to buy one) continues... Though my current ship seems to be trying to wow me into keeping it as it sensed our time together was ending when it landed on the top of the transmission tower as a final trick.

Understandable. Makes those resources just that more valuable depending on what you are doing imo.

After an hour running around trying to find the last species of that planet I finally see an animal with a red dot...

I scan it

"This animal is part of an already known species"

Man... Fuck you game....

Just to be clear, (since this game loves to be coy about certain mechanics) there's no way to return to previous planets after hyper driving, other than to hyper drive all the way back? Like, I can't just pick from a menu of previously visited places and return right? Or even put a waypoint to a specific planet in another system?

Just wanna make sure, sorry if it's a dumb question.

Seems like the patch it's almost done

Oh god gimmie

The way it's teased sounds like multiplayer but lol, I dare not get my hopes up)
