August Wrasslin' |OT 2| All popped everything ft. Injuries too

Cena's there...but doesn't show up on TV?

If Cena shows back up, he kind of has to challenge AJ given both that he lost to him and that AJ has been bragging about it. They want to give that match more time before they do it. So it makes sense to hold Cena off TV. Plus he probably couldn't be on the Backlash show anyways.

so uh

looks like last week's miz promo with bryan did kinda get out of hand in the end maybe?

cos this whole talking smack just pissed all over that fire.

not that it wasn't good, it was fine, but between the ziggler deflection and this i'm thinking yeah they didn't mean for it to get that hot at all.

bummer.

You can't have Talking Smack be 100 MPH every week. This week was a nice counterbalance to last week, it was relaxed and casual. It makes the intense and heated moments feel more genuine and interesting when they aren't happening all the time.

It was too successful. Wasn't supposed to be anything other than a regular heel promo and then it got some people thinking it was gonna lead to a big angle that might even involve Bryan getting back into the ring. WWE don't want that for obvious reasons.

This SmackDown was weaker than Bluekaveli tbh, but it's building stuff like Mizigg and Aj/Dean so it gets a pass. Oh and Heath had the best WWE moment in like what, 3 years?

well sure but it felt more like vince went 'shit, cool this bryan/miz thing off right now or we're gonna have show derailing chants on our hands'

like i said, the rest was fine/good, but they really went out of their way to just drop the whole thing. so it looks like it was an accident, a worked promo that got too good, and they've deflected miz onto ziggler as a compromise which will 100% guaranteed cool that all off.

The angle was not meant for a match with Bryan but in the end it did make the Miz the top real heel in the WWE.

He got to keep winning and if you want to bring in someone to face him in NXT then you call up Hideo. He knows Bryan and is the opposite of the Miz's safe style.

I mean, where was it supposed to go in reality? That's why you don't rely on getting heat from managers alone because it leads nowhere.

He's supposedly wrestling AJ at a house show the night after Backlash. It's been advertised pretty heavily around here, so he's probably available for the PPV -- but I agree on the rational for keeping him off it.

Well, it made Miz look interesting for the first time is his abysmal career so they got that out of it? It's probably going to flop because he doesn't have the chops on the mic or in the ring to carry a Ziggler program. However, they could still build it around Bryan bringing somebody in to deal with Miz if say Miz were to make another appearance on Talking Smack after Bryan spent 5 minutes of tonight's show highlighting how that was an "impossibility".

I'm wise to what these indy scrubs are up to. First Dean, then Seth

They know they can't hurt the god, the king, the Kane. So they try to hurt themselves against him so he'll be blamed for it. It won't work! It'll never work!!

is like he just freeze in the air and then fall, love it xD

I would imagine that the headbangers were really rough because violent j says in his book that when icp wrestled them on raw in the 90s, the headbangers were really hitting and slamming them for realsies.

Just take a look at Rhyno & Heath's faces on Talking Smack

Basically something everyone thought it was going to be good actually isn't because the writers suck.

I mean the fact that Bryan couldn't wrestle could actually have been very interesting because it would be different and the Miz could be a huge asshole for running him down every week. He would be booed more and more each week as people felt increasingly sorry for Bryan. Somebody could stick up for him and then they could get beaten up.

The route they ended up going with Miz feels like them making the best of the tools they had on hand. Bryan can't wrestle so he can't defend himself, and sending people after Miz for insulting him would be a really heelish thing for the super baby face GM to do. So on that end, just having Shane tell D Bry to leave it along while an active wrestler goes after Miz, while not the most exciting move, isn't a terrible one.

Having Dolph come in lets him get some of the heat back he lost after the Ambrose feud ended with him looking like trash. And like someone said upthread, he is sort of the face version of the Miz. The question to me is how is Miz going to look coming out of the other side of this. They have a chance to turn him into a more serious, threatening character (KFC chicken stuff aside) and solidify his spot as one of the top heels. But I don't know if Dolph is the one to help get him there.

But that's more an issue with the brand split because there's really no one else on SD they could have used. Again, doing what they can with the tools they have.

The thing I love about the Slater household segment was that it wasn't a beat you over the head kinda thing. While not subtle, it wasn't 'HEY MAGGLE DID YOU KNOW HEATH IS A POOR SOB!? I LOVE IT MAGGLE!"

The whores doovers, kids hunting for bottles and cans, the spray cheese, and the aspirational sentiment for the double wide wasn't beating you over the head?

What was it if it wasn't subtle? Overt?

I watched a clip of the TNA tag died, and why does every other look sweaty and disgusting. It's like a low rent version of Finn Valor's makeup.

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like
What was this btw, this still fucks me up just seeing this

I don't know if Miz needs to be threatening
Be a chicken heel (no pun intended) works perfect for him and makes the crowd hate him even more

He can continue his reign using Maryse, fuckery and cheating to win

Checking http://www.profightdb.com/wrestlers/aj-styles-752.html and damn they don't televise a lot of good shit

AJ had a 3 way fight for the wwe belt with Ambrose and Bray Wyatt apparently, three nights in a row. Not like he's gonna lose the belt at a non televised event lol. The match probably played out exactly the same

AJ also lost to Cena yesterday lol.. These in house shows don't follow storyline much huh?

Which brings me to this question: Was Goldberg ever defeated in a non televised event during his streak?

I don't like the way they're handling Styles these past few weeks. They're trying really hard to make him a hated heel.. With that annoying "face that runs the place" rant. He sells it well, but still. And him hanging on the ropes that long makes him look weak :/

I feel like he's gonna win the belt, only to lose it to Cena or some corny shit because he's talking so much trash. Like I don't understand, why couldn't they just give him the belt when he fought Reigns for it?

Reigns was supposed to keep the belt for a while longer, the only reason he doesn't have it right now is because of his suspension

AJ's going to lose to Ambrose at Backlash, win at No Mercy (probably through bullshit like Corbin starting a feud with Ambrose) and hold the belt until Cena returns early next year where he'll lose to Cena. Cena will get his 16th title and he'll redeem himself. Ambrose/Cena probably for WM given in all of this "face that runs the place" stuff they're not mentioning Ambrose which is weird. They even brought that up around Ambrose and Ambrose (the champion) had a weird look on his face.

AJ is dope but bruh, he's gotta turn tweener or even face post-WM next year. If he does that he'll be a long-term champion. Until then he'll be holding that belt for Cena.

Styles has also been killing it all year. He's probably been the overall MVP of this year all-around though I mean shit, look at what he did to Crew. Crews looked like he was the IC Champion out there. Apollo's presence was on some Jigga '99 shit because he was in the ring with AJ. He was comfortable lol.

We made 1 and a half OT's in a month. Wrasslin is back

We made it.

Caught up on PROGRESS, not sure about End going into the Brixton main event all of a sudden. I know they have a massive hardon for him but he's out the door soon, what's the point?

BritWres podcast suggested that they are doing a "Summer of Punk" style thing with End. Since PROGRESS are so buddy buddy with Regal, End would still work PROGRESS and NXT with the belt. Intriguing. I think they had a big match planned for Ospreay and it fell through because of NJPW commitments.
