Apart from the Arkham series, what else good Batman games are there?

Was getting caught part of your plan?
I've found myself having a Batman itch lately but caught myself in a bit of a bind when I realized all I've been playing in that area are the Arkham games. Considering I only seriously started getting into all things Batman around 2008/2009 when the first Arkham game showed up, I'm not really aware of any other good Batman games apart from this series. Care to help me out GAF?

P.s. - I've been burned too many times by Telltale to pick their game up, but I'm welcome to some convincing.

Depending on your tolerance for the LEGO series of games, the three LEGO Batman games are solidly entertaining in a mindless sort of way.

Justice League Heroes on PSP is a worse/more repetitive X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It's not great by any means, but it's decent.

The Genesis/Mega Drive Batman was solid.

I actually enjoyed Batman: The Great and The Bold that time I rented it for my brother.

Such an hilarious and fun game but I also never watched the show proper 😂

I really like The Adventures of Batman and Robin for Genesis.

Different game from the SNES version. Plays like Gunstar Heroes.

So my main take away from all this is that the sixth gen was really bad/underwhelming for the property huh

Yup. Outside of Arkham, the only Batman games I've liked enough to recommend are NES Batman and Lego Batman 2.

I've also heard good things about Batman Brave and the Bold on Wii, but I haven't tried it myself.

Come on OP.

The NES Batman games from Sunsoft were quite good I hear. There's also Ocean's Batman games for the ZX Spectrum I think.

I wish I had played this when it came out. Would've blown my mind and been my dream game

It was amazing. I was a massive Batman fan as a kid and watched The Animated Series every saturday morning. Then my parents bought me this game and it was just an incredible experience, the music, the graphics, the levels, the bosses everything was just like the show.

The soundtrack is still so damn good.

Funny thing, i remember me and my brother were so excited and started the game in english and since my native language is german we had a hard time in the Penguin and Riddler level.

I got my mom and friends to help me solve this damn puzzle but none could do it and since we didn't had internet at that time we contacted Nintendo and they send us per post two sheets full with passwords to skip levels and also the answer to that riddle.

I will never forget that time, nowadays you have the internet and can just look it up but in my childhood you had to figure out all by yourself.
Or contact Nintendo :p

Thanks Nintendo, you were a real bro at this time.

Actually after the stellar episode 2 now I can definitely recommend Telltale's Batman series.

Imo, Dishonored is the best Batman "experience" I've ever encountered in a video game though.

First that came in my mind Batman: The Caped Crusader. Even though it's been 20-25 years that I played it on C64. I think the game happening in comic book panels was a novel idea.

Love the cover art.

There are quite a few Batman games worth playing aside from the Arkham series.

Batman Returns for the Master System is an underrated gem that nobody ever talks about.
A difficult but fair action platformer, mixing elements from Shadow Dancer and Bionic Commando. I highly recommend it.

Batman on NES and Game Boy was good. The Adventures of Batman and Robin on SNES and Megadrive looks fantastic but is impossibly difficult. The DOS Batman Returns adventure game isn't all that great but is an interesting experiment. It's easy to run nowadays thanks to dosbox.

Batman Returns was also a great beat them up on the SNES and the NES version is very advanced for its time but too difficult.

Batman Begins was surprisingly solid. It's a Splinter Cell-like with Burnout sections that were actually develloped by the Burnout team.

And let's not forget Lego Batman 2 & 3, very clever and funny.

Edit: forgot The Brave & The Bold, great game and absolutely beautiful 2D.

It doesn't get as much love as the first NES game, but Return of the Joker is a ton of fun. Really awesome graphics for a NES game, too.

Batman and Robin on the Mega Drive is like an acid trip.

Its like Batman as a Contra style shooter (complete with being balls hard)
And everything in it is freaking weird.
