"Tee-dus" definitely weirded me out. I also didn't know that Fi sounded like "fee" "fye" until I looked up her name in Japanese.
"Nay" rhymes with "yay". (More like a long "neh", really.)
It doesn't. The official English pronunciation of Fi is Phai.

It's weird how strongly the correct or incorrect reading of names can resonate with people.

Then I clicked that link and heard it pronounced Zid-ahn, like a crazy person, and now I am irritated. Because my first impression was immediately coded into my brain, everything else is so wrong, even if that's what the game is trying to tell me is correct.
This all happened in the span of a minute and now I'm just pissed off.

I always knew to pronounce Fi like Fee because Zero Escape has a character named Phi which is pronounced... well like Phi.
So I guess you thought the giant said fee fee fo fum?

It's worse when there is voice acting, and characters pronounce it differently.
Take Aqua from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep for example. Only Aqua herself and Mickey pronounce it like it's supposed to be, everyone else calls her some variation of ar-qua/or-qua/with a hard 'r' sound.

I used to pronounce the name of the little chaos creatures in Sonic Adventure as 'Kay-oes'. Then I noticed Tikal pronounced it as 'Chow'. Which I still think is dumb, because the creature they were spawned from is called 'Kay-oss' not 'Chowse'.

Square Enix isn't wrong if it's pronounced exactly like it is in real life, and this is coming from someone who was tripped up by it until Dissidia as well.

Pronounciation of Japanese and German names is close enough that I never had much of a problem with Japanese names in games. My natural way of reading them is mostly close enough to the proper pronounciation.
However, I remember when back in elementary school the way kids pronounced "Mewtwo" (well, "Mewtu" in German, which gets pronounced the same but takes away the meaning of the name while also making it less obvious that it's supposed to have an English pronounciation) and "Mew" would differ from class to class. The first Pokemon movie was a real eye opener for us.

This one is kind of silly. There's no reason to not pronounce it "Kate Sith" unless you have specific, advanced information about the "correct" pronunciation.

Mabinogi (MMO) is centered around Celtic/Irish mythology and the names are so weird to pronounce. The game never got voice acting I think, (haven't played it in years) but sometimes the names come up in other games that do have voice acting.

They are named after mythological creatures and Gods. If we had a va, pronounce shiva as shiv-ah I'd question the translator or va director. It's sheeva.
