Brian Fargo was one of the founders of Fig, so presumably he wants to keep the platform going so that they can keep siphoning 10% of all game sales in perpetuity or whatever.
Ahh that's right, makes sense now. Well, not sure if there is any public interest in the platform at all now days but I guess it's good for investors.

Man... i finished wl2 dc and that game still was a buggy af tour through jank city. So "eh." it still makes me worry for Numenera. While those screens look damn good, gonna have to wait and see if inXile learned anything first.

here's hoping they show that they've improved as much as harebrained schemes did.

Was Wasteland 2 really that buggy? I backed it, but haven't got around to playing it yet. I'd like to know before considering giving towards another one.

More importantly, I'd like to see something playable for The Bard's Tale IV.

Other than that, I'm happy that they appear to be going the full co-op route, always great to get more co-op RPGs (there are exceedingly few). I hope they fully realize what that means in terms of development and testing effort.

Metroidvania

People called Romanes they go the house?
In for it. But now it's 3 games in development. Hope they don't spread too thin.

Numenera isn't too far out at this point, right? I know it got delayed to Q1 2017, was there something beyond that?

So really, it's like 2 projects, though I have zero idea how far Bard's tale is.

That being said, even though it's Fargo, getting people off of Kickstarter and onto Fig is going to be a challenge for Fargo, even with the prototype screenshots. Fig's got a (perhaps unfair) bad rap, and it's hard to break past that, especially with crowdfunding.

Should really get through 2. Started out too slow and I gave up pretty early on.

Hyped as hell, Fargo said the right things about this. Not sure about Fig tho.

Fargo's on the board so it's no surprise. Probably get to avoid all the admin fees.

Less so now. It's still janky and just feels... Unpolished. Everything about it is pretty rough. It has a diamond inside if you're into turn-based RPGs though.

I've backed it on day 1 and then upped my pledge obscenely once Avellone was involved, but I'm not as crazy about it as some people on GAF. It's a good game, but it was better before we had options in regards to party-based RPGs.

I liked Wasteland 2 well enough, but unless the price is right I doubt I will be backing this one. The RPG market is robust enough these days that I feel fine waiting until release and buying it if it is good like any other game.

Those screenshots look so much better than 2, and I liked that a lot. Definitely looking forward to this!

Damn, those prototype screens look sick :O
I should get around and buy Wasteland 2 sooner or later actually.

Wasteland 2 is by no means a broken game. I bought it in January and was able to get through the game without any game breaking issues.

The combat is slightly janky ( nothing you won't get used to) and the graphics aren't the best. But it's a great rpg.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

In Fargo we trust

EDIT: But first I need Bard's Tale IV. But still. Backed. Bought. Whatever. Wasteland 2 is my favourite "new era crpg" :p Those prototype screenshots are hot.

I wonder if they are ditching the 3D isometric perspective and moving towards a highly detailed 2D isometric perspective similar to older Fallout games. Having the developers of Stasis handle the graphics makes me doubt this is 3D. I'm not sure how I feel about that. However, I can't deny that it looks gorgeous.

A bit surprised and really excited about this! Loved Wasteland 2, one of the best games in 2014! Didn't play it at launch so my version wasn't very buggy. Still haven't properly played the Directors Cut.

I've played a little with Numenara"s beta. It's very buggy and very janky. IX are not the best when it comes to polishing stuff up, and I don't expect that to change.

That's an understatement, I remember when I worked QA at Codemasters and when their name came up in conversation the senior testers would laugh about the state Heist was in before it was cancelled. Some of their stories about the game were shocking.

whats the rate of return on a fig investment? anyone tried it?
Fig is too new to have any finished games.

I can't see why an indie developer would choose Fig over the alternative.
Because unlike Kickstarter, they can get enough money on Fig.

“We’re thrilled to see such major headway right out of the gates for the next entry in the CONSORTIUM trilogy. Fig backers have shown more support in one day than in a month on Kickstarter.”

Just bought Wasteland 2 Directors Cut on PS4 last week and loved it. Definitely getting this too

I'm passing this time. Not because I don't have faith in Brian and his team, but because I've got a bit of fatigue in this genre. I still have to finish going through Shadowrun Dragonfall and Hong Kong, Divinity: OS, Pillars of Eternity, AND Wasteland 2 before I have the bandwidth for this. Ugh, just thinking about it is giving me a headache.

They probably already finished the majority of the game. It's normal for a game devs to start a new project before their ongoing near finished state.

I never imagined I would see someone got fatigue from CRPG in these days lol

The snowy stuff doesn't really look like "wasteland" to me but then I hated Operation Anchorage's look as well. Of course there could be snow in a post-apocalypse world but I simply REFUSE to believe it. I am a snow denier in post-apocalypse scenarios.

Also why Fig? Fig is a no-no. Don't dig your own grave, inXile.

Last thing is that Wasteland 2 was an immensive resource hog. Runs like shit on mid-end laptops.

Enjoyed Wasteland 2 enough but never beat it (Spent a lot of time playing it though).

Wasteland 3 looks very pretty though, and the cooperative MP is a big plus as well.

Nuclear winter.

"Wage a new cold war" should have been the new tagline.
