I hope this is not a mobile only thing, as i dont really care for lyrics on mobile, but i like it on my desktop so i can sing along at work.

The fact that you can't 'reset' your taste is absurd. Added the family plan but now my main account has all this music taste from my wife and brother from when we shared the single account.

Makes Discover Weekly completely useless, even after three months of me only listening to my music.

I tried to like spotify but the lack of at least to me decent metal that I like I couldn't make the cost be worth it. I now have play music and with it YouTube red and it's been awesome.

I'm hoping that spotify launching in japan might be positive news for people like me who want more video game soundtracks on the service... because it's very lacking right now.

i want easy access to all my favorite squae-enix OSTs most of all. Oh, and the live CDs... so many good ones.

Daily Mix is legit. I have 6 which is probably down to how much I jump from genre to genre.

How do they update? I presume it's not every track daily, but how long would it take for a full refresh so to speak.

Yes, this. Also anime soundtracks please.

Hot damn, the influx of Japanese music via Spotify U.K has made me realise just how much I love their style of producing music and composing some brilliant genre defying music. Truly one of a kind. Fingers fucking crossed they get sanodg on the service.

Currently listening to 1914 by wonk.

A few times in a year Spotify reminds why I pay for it's premium tier option. This is one of those times. Good job Spotify!

Yep, I'm in the same boat, just upgraded to family plan last month. I suppose I could just start over on a open slot but haven't yet.

On another note, my daily mixes are funny because one is obviously tailored to me and others are tailored to my wife and son.

So as I've mentioned, I work with Spotify. This week we had projects were we got to suggest features and pitch them.

I can't verify which features, but some of the best stuff with Spotify, came out of these yearly pitch-weeks.

Tomorrow we're gonna have our presentation with a couple of new features and tweaks with the app.

Does anyone want to chime in on what they would like to see in Spotify?

EDIT. Also, if you have any questions or need any help, just quote or PM me, and I'll help.

You guys are already doing a great job. This is nit-picky and idk if it can already be done. How about letting users choose the album artwork on our custom playlists?

A better web interface? It's so slow and unwieldy.

Gotta say, the stuff coming out this year has been awesome. Like release radar and the daily mixes are exactly what I look for.

I went Apple Music for a month because the Spotify family plan wasn't available in Canada but now that it is, I'm definitely going back.

Only thing I would comment on is that it's weird how I can do messaging on the desktop app, not at all in the web app, and partially in the iOS app (sending/receiving songs only). I'd say either kill the feature (so my friends stop sending me stuff via Spotify messaging) or let me do messaging in the iOS app

Don't have the database in front of me, so can't check if this is being changed currently, but as far the support-page, and my Android next to me, messaging is currently available on all platforms.

If not on your iPhone, just send me a screenshot of the app and I'll take a look.

Spotify uk has Japanese music in it? Might be worth trying premium for a while with my wife.

I've been on Spotify from day one, here's my demands for the desktop client! :p

• Being able to CTRL + F albums
• Being able to CTRL + F artists
• Bring back muh lyrics!

Suggestions for mobile (Android) version:

• Make the Android app as good as the iOS app
• Ability to copy your profile link by holding down your profile picture
• Give an "are you sure?" warning before pressing "Download" in the all songs section
• Add immersive mode on the android app to prevent burn-in from the home, back, etc buttons
• Make the inbox feature on mobile work the same as the desktop client because right now it's useless
• While playing a song from your playlist break up the "remove" option into two different options "Remove from playlist" and "Remove from library"

Yeah, you can only "message" by sharing a song in the app. On desktop, you can actually just send plain old text messages.

Ah I see. We're getting some feedback regarding the messages, so we're definitely gathering data.

Otherwise, good suggestions from you all. Haven't heard a lot of these, so I'll note them down and see what I can do :)

Interesting. I'm a long time metal head and I find tons of shit that I'm surprised is on there. What kind of stuff can't you find?

Yeah, I can't think of any metal-band exept for Tool, witholding their stuff.

New metal-bands are also incredibly prevalent. Every week I will get recommendation of the smallest and most niche bands ever, with barely any listeners.

I find with metal bands on Spotify that there are huge holes in their discography. For instance the band Sigh is up there, but there's a handful of their older albums missing. Believe I encountered the same with Blind Guardian. I'm sure that's not something Spotify can help, though.

Was originally a Spotify family premium account holder until Apple Music came along, but now my wife and I are considering going back to Spotify. The headache and confusion that goes into understanding what computer your phone is synced to, and the whole iCloud library thing, oh and the fact that you are forced to wipe all downloaded music from Apple Music if you choose to add more local files. It is not intuitive and it's super inconvenient.

My suggestion might be weird but I really wish the client was more customizable and that there is no limit to the amount of music you can have on your library. I also wish i could manipulate my "music taste" so that the weekly doesn't recommend weird stuff. I'd also enjoy if tye weekly wasn't "weekly" but generated whenever i wanted.
Thank you!

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
I feel like there was a banner earlier welcoming Japanese listeners to the Spotify fold and it had a playlist or radio station I said I wanted to check out earlier (I'm in the US). Yet now it's gone?

Daily Mix is so legit. I got 6 really good, really diverse playlists: indie rock, shoegaze, stoner rock, metal, hip hop and funk/soul/oldies. Love it. I can see myself using this a ton.

With Discover Weekly and Release Radar, I can't see myself switching from Spotify anytime soon. They got me.

What? You must listen to some pretty obscure stuff.

Daily Mix has me considering moving back to Spotify, and I'm already paid up with Google Play Music until February. It's that good.

Yeah I really love the mixes.

Mix 1 - Kanye/Chance/2Chainz AKA "hey remember how you listened to every kanye album on repeat for weeks before seeing him live?"

Mix 2 - Arctic Monkeys/The Killers/Frank Ferdinand AKA "You were my first real loves and I'll never let you go"

Mix 3 - Coheed and Cambria/Fall Out Boy/My Chemical Romance AKA "High School Scene Kid Era"

Mix 4 - Cold Fronts/ Bad Bad Hats/ AKA "Discover Weekly and listen to some other stuff, Killertofu!"

Mix 5 - Ben Kahn/HONNE/ Jamie XX AKA "You had that deep house phase in college but only kinda because your friends were really into it"

Mix 6 - Barry Manilow/ Bee Gees/ Air Supply AKA "Thanks filipino mom and dad for burning these bands into my brain but fuck it I'm gonna sing it in my car by myself"

The spectrum is real and it is beautiful and I love it.

Ability to remove/block tracks from the Discover Weekly playlist!

I like 90% of what's suggested but occasionally I'll get a song which completely turns me off. This then makes me reluctant to leave it on shuffle as I know there's a chance it may appear.

Albums and singles to be differentiated between in the New Releases.

Ability to queue up a playlist.

Album shuffle would be nice.
Album art in playlists. This used to be there but was removed.
Notifications when new albums from followed artists are available. Also used to be there but is now gone.

I need to use the web app at work because of some proxy shenanigans. Basically, the streaming of music works alright, but it seems like other stuff such as images (cover art) and connection to last.fm might go through a different connection or something and they get blocked by our proxy.

Anyway:
1) it would be so awesome it the web app allowed for high quality audio. I pay the Premium subscription, and it sucks not being able to take advantage of this.

2) A way to reproduce ALL the songs stored in my playlists.
This could be solved with more granularity in the filters (iOS). Example of the issue I have:
- I create two playlists with 10 songs each (song1playlist1, ..., song10playlist1, song1playlist2, ..., song10playlist2)
- I love song2playlist1, and save it with +.
- I download both playlists for offline listening.
- ALL the songs are downloaded to the device, but if I go to the Playlists tab I can only listen to one of the playlists at a time, and if I go to the Songs tab, there's only 1 song there (song2playlist1).
- This basically means I can't randomly listen to all the songs I have downloaded in the device, only the ones I have saved with +.
- So, while in the Playlists tab, it would be cool if the filters could allow to see the playlists or the individual songs inside these playlists.

3) I know this won't happen, but star rating. :p
My interaction with a song is more complex than "I like it or I don't".

4) Oh, yeah. And better notifications. When I follow an artist, I expect to get notifications every time there's new content available for that artist. This is VERY unreliable at the moment.

I was thinking about moving back to Apple Music for the integration with Siri and Apple Watch, so I signed up for a month to see how it is with iOS 10. I think AM has improved but with Spotify having Discover Weekly, Release Radar, and the awesome new Daily Mix (plus tons of great and regularly updated official Spotify playlists + endless user created playlists), AM just can't compete in my opinion. The music discovery with Spotify continues to improve. Unless Apple steps up big time, I won't be leaving Spotify for a while.

1. Album playlists, or some way of moving albums around playlists more easily. I do my album of the year lists each year, and moving around 10-12 songs is a pain in the ass. If I could just move an album, that'd be great.

2. Release calendar: I'd love a way to add upcoming albums I'm looking forward to into a release calendar or something. It'd also be cool if you could click the date and see the album and then click it and play whatever track is available right now on the service. Then on release day you could check in and add those albums/tracks to playlists and see 'em.

Probably way late but..

Ability to "trim" tracks.
iTunesTrim.png
. Jay Z and Kanye's "Watch the throne" album has a a track with 3 mins of pure silence in the beginning.

Ability to "mix" playlists. For example I like to have smaller playlists of lyricless tracks, rap tracks, my favorite Kanye west tracks, and various album playlists. But there is no way to play kanye and lyricless mixed without making a new playlist (which is annoying and doesn't scale as you get more combinations).

Auto playlists. It would be cool to have an auto playlist which you could quickly create based on genre or artists

Since we don't own the songs. I don't think we would have great ability to trim it.

iOS, I'd like to group select songs, playlists, albums and etc. to place into a new playlist or shuffle. Better notifications for new content from artists I follow.

I think the search algorithm should prioritize albums that you save and listen to instead of the current way (probably most popular?). For example, whenever I search Feels by Animal Collective which I saved, downloaded and listened to tens of times, Feels Like Home by Norah Jones keeps showing up until I start writing Animal Collective.
It's not a huge deal and it's probably more trouble than it's worth but it is a mild annoyance.

Last 10 songs:

1. Jenny Hval - Secret Touch
2. Container - Radiation
3. Kiran Leonard - Dear Lincoln (such a throwback but still a gem)
4. Tonstartssbandht - Deep Val Party / Sov Gott Rose-Marie
5. The Range - No Loss (consistently underrated as fuck)
6. dvsn - Try/Effortless
7. Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - Blue Nudes (I-IV)
8. Sango - The Differences
9. Machinedrum - Do It 4 U
10. FaltyDL - Aquí, Port Lligat

The one thing that is bothering me the most is that if you use SHUFFLE on a artist that about %85+ of it is the last 2 albums. Really annoying because most of the time a 'new' album is just a remix version of a classic album of the artist/band..

I would like to see a 'real' shuffle function, not one that prioritize new albums!

I know it's probably a bitch to work on, but the mobile app for Android needs some work. I keep getting scrobbling errors and just a few days ago, my entire set of downloaded songs was wiped. I like the interface though.

It'd be nice if the desktop app had a recently played tab just like the mobile one. I always have to scroll down my library to get to the artists I've been listening to recently. Musicbee also has this nice feature called "queue random". You can queue up a bunch of albums whose songs just get randomized. I haven't found an easy way to do this in Spotify without making a whole playlist.

Other than that, everything is really nice.

Way too late to the party but if I could wish for one thing it would probably be to get new original Running sets on a regular basis.
I loooove those so much.

I know you've already had your presentation but... I would love for Spotify to have a page like this in the client (at least on the desktop and web one). A split panel of artists on the left, and their albums on the right, it's something other music players such as foobar do if you customise it that way and it's great for usability.

I made a mock up of what I mean:

Ciz7bHk.png

What happens if I go abroad on holiday? Will Spotify still work or will I be blocked?

It works for two weeks I think if you use free, and if you pay premium I think it's indefinite. I believe this is the same loophole people use to get Spotify that is outside their country, by using a U.S spotify prepaid card or whatever since they wouldn't be able to use a U.S credit card to "prove" to Spotify you're a U.S resident.
