Sports Bar VR is some next level stuff!

Holy shit I played Sports Bar VR (it was released yesterday in Europe I think) on PSVR the whole day and it's so awesome. It's a bar where you can walk around and play some games like dart, air hockey and pool. All this in a 6 man lobby. You only see the headset and the move controller flying but everything adopts your movement perfect. You can wave your hand, shake your head for yes or no,or even dance. You can also throw everything (even the jukebox) through the whole bar. Also there are NPCs talking to each other which are full modeled. They are fucking creepy until you put the garbage bin on one of the guys head.

Here is a trailer for anyone who don't know what I'm talking about:

Sports Bar VR PSVR Trailer (sorry i'm on mobile)

This was sooooo much worth the price of 18 bucks.

VR is truly some next level shit!

This is by far my most anticipated game, specifically for the fun social aspect and laid back environment. I am so pumped for the 18th! Are the lobbies friends-only, or can random people join, as well?

I'm trying to be reasonable and not buy PSVR until it matures a little more but shit like this is really making it hard. This looks pretty damn awesome.

How are the lobbies? Please tell me random people can join alongside friends?

Yes you can make a own public room or a private room. But the best option is to just "quick join". By that you are just thrown into a random room with strangers.

You can even spawn beer bottles and throw them or build a tower of it. So awesome!

I've reread the OP twice trying to not imagine it sounding sarcastic and it's not possible.

I think OP is being sincere though.

That would be really neat if you could actually throw something on the tv... even if you had to pay for it (like an actual sports game, ufc, a movie, the walking dead, netflix etc etc).

Posted in other thread but here goes.

First try had some serious tracking issues. So I tried some different things like clearing out my play area and playing in front of the left lens on the camera and had a much better time with the game. Tracking is still not perfect but when you work within the limitations it's a lot of fun. Also finally worked out the controls which aren't very intuitive but can get used to.

As for the games themselves, managed to understand how to play pool and it works ok, darts is really difficult as the tracking goes to shit when a controller is in your face, skee ball is too sensitive and balls fly everywhere. Air Hockey is spot on though.

However, the highlight was entering a room with 5 other players and just fucking around in the bar. I setup a bunch a beer bottles and we started playing pool and knocking the bottles over, two of us played darts whilst one guy stood in front of the dart board and ducked the incoming darts, and then someone started throwing a jukebox around.

This is is exactly the type of dumbshit I wanted out of this game :)

Awesome, I'm sold.

The Vive can do that to a guy.

VR can do that : My PSVR lost track in the cartoon world of that office game moving the floor another 10 feet under me; I fell backwards into my bed thinking my world was crumbling around me.
it was awesome

ha. I probably would have lost my shit. but really, the Vive can do that specifically because of roomscale and perfect 1:1 tracking. there are no shortage of people leaning on stuff that only exists in VR and falling over on youtube. vive op.

I actually own this, and according to the devs on the playstation blog there should be chess and checkers in there at launch.

However, I can't find them :-( anyone know where they are located?

As for the rest of the games: Pool and Air Hockey are great and work fine, darts and the ball thingy however suffer from really bad physics. Darts especially is not realistic or reliable at all.

For PC players, try out New Retro Arcade Neon. Provides the same experiences, plus it has a fully featured Arcade that plays a bunch of free indie games and has Emulator support!

Sports bar VR is already on PC for months (previously known as pool nation VR)

Speaking of new retro arcade neon, there's also another great multiplayer social vr title "pierhead arcade" on the vive. There's bowling, claw machine and other arcade titles.

One of the best VR experience I've had, played for three hours the other night just messing about, got quite tired by the end of it and my friend and I sat down in our chairs in life and virtually and just threw shit around and talked about crap.

I said it in the main PS VR topic, but this is the sort of thing PlayStation Home should have become, a virtual world to have fun in. Games, general nonsense, decorating a home space. All would have been great in VR.

I hope they expand it with more things to do and play with, I really think this could be a leading social VR game.

Yea we couldn't see chess or checkers anywhere either, I was hoping it would be giant chess on the floor or something but I couldn't find it anywhere in the room. Maybe it just isn't added yet? Do we know if it's in the PC version?

We were also super awful at darts, like, super bad. I couldn't reliably throw them anywhere. Was still great fun though because no one could reliably throw darts.

May I have a cookie?
Is there any noticeable lag or stuttering when playing with five other people online?

What connections and distances are supported?
