Love the concept and look so I am in for sure...the name is awful however. I saw a cartridge being put in a few times but does it have a disc drive?

Seems you can't play on the Switch-tablet on TV.

I assume this means no mandatory touch controls of any sort.

Weird as fuck.

Trailer itself was a little boring but the console looks good.

Seems like it can function entirely as a portable, which is what I wanted, so I may pick it up.

The glimpse of the new Mario game we saw looked great!

Hopefully the controller design isn't finalized, I dislike the lack of a d-pad, and the offset of the analog controllers (I prefer the dualshock desgin).

.

Erm, I think it's safe to say that it's finalised now. They're not going to make drastic changes at this stage. They've done the R&D and everything now.

They're not going to reveal hardware and then change it lol.

He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.
Name - Awkward. Not good.
Concept - Sure. Works for me. Never going to play with half a controller though.
Zelda - Of course. Can't Wait.
3D Mario - YEEESSSSSSSSS
Skyrim - Horrible game, don't care.

I'll get one most likely.

How's it an awkward name? It tells you the primary reason it's different and works in pretty much every language. It sounds like a cute name that sells the concept.

The concept is far from proven at this though, this is obviously a completely scripted demonstration. I hope it's at least half as seamless as they make it out to be.

How is that supposed to replace the 3DS?

No way in hell I can fit that in my pockets.

Nor does it seem to have a clamshell design...

I really like the name actually, don't know why people are calling it dumb.

As for the console, it's exactly what we expected but my god Nintendo seems to have gotten the implementation just right. The handheld looks slick, they aren't ignoring traditional controllers, despite the former being an older game we have Skyrim and NBA confirmed and the concept is instantly understandable.

Trailer was also so un-Nintendo, it really seems like they're doing something different here.

I am elated.

1. The hardware is what I wanted, as sad as I am to see the traditional D-pad go to maintain symmetry on the detachable controllers (though it's on the standard external controller). Detachable controllers in the style of the Wii (but without the nunchuk-to-Wiimote cord getting in the way)—yes. Off-TV—yes, yes. This looks like the refinement of what the Wii U was meant to be.

2. I think most of the software footage we're seeing consists of mock-ups using footage from existing systems, though I need to go back over the 3D Mario clip again to be sure. I wouldn't get too attached to it as a confirmed launch line-up, although if it is, I am very glad to see the Wii U library get a second lease on life. [Edit: Cancel that, Mario is definitely new. Oh god, oh god, oh god.]

3. Cheeky of them (if coincidental) to capitalize on Korean stadium e-sports as a part of game culture the same week the KeSPA StarCraft system went under.

4. I'm not seeing touch input, which makes me wonder about the future of Miiverse, prospective Wii U ports (including 3DW and Splatoon), and keyboard input in general. But again, I think the software we saw was mostly mock-up footage and the actual software we get will be tailored to the hardware as necessary. [Edit: Scratch that, I'm wrong. This is new.]

This is amazing. Wii U evolved.

Then again, all the cons from people who don't like Nintendo hardware are there:
- Looks like it's as powerful as the Wii U.
- The controls are gimmicky.
- 720 lol

But I like the concept. In the end, what's going to make or break this will be the games.

I'm surprised Pokemon Go wasn't in the video.

The name sucks, to be honest. Really bad name. Aside of that, some things are great, others make me not convinced.

I don't like Nintendo games really, and their consoles have never really wowed me but this could easily change that

If the third part support isn't awful I can see this becoming my preferred way to play my games, as I find myself making less and less time to play consoles

This is one of the best looking console/handheld/game player thingy yet. It's got a seriously refined look to it, even though the plug in controller thing looks a bit odd. This is great!

So the rumors about detachable controllers and being a handheld with TV dock were true.
It actually looks pretty nice.

And at least the name Switch is by far and away not another extension of the Wii brand.

Alright Nintendo, you have my attention.

I'm a huge Nintendo fan but meh. I want more details but I don't know if I'm feeling the direction they are going. I'll form a better opinion once more info releases but right now I'm pretty underwhelmed.
