unfortunately, your options are extremely limited

you can play assault horizon, but that is...not exactly ac at it's best

infinity is f2p on ps3 and acts as something of a 'greatest hits' compilation of various missions, but you have to deal with some pretty intrusive monetization systems to get to the good stuff

the definitive games are the japanese version of ac3, and ac4/5/0 on ps2. trust me when i say it is worth it to buy a ps2 just for these games

The PS2 trilogy is just fantastic. Everyone should play them.

Haven't played any of the previous games but I stumbled onto the soundtracks for them recently and have been listening non-stop. Trying to pick up AC6 for cheap in hopes it becomes backwards compatible on XBO, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on this.

Trailer made it very clear that you should only play this in cockpit view.

This might be the game that makes me buy PSVR. PS4pro killed it for me.

Looks amazing, the clouds and weather effects look awesome, and flying through the city looks amazing.

AC6 didn't live up to its previous three titles, and Assault Horizon was shit, so it will have been 10 years since we had a good Ace Combat game. I'm so excited to see it coming back and with some of the developers from AC5 and 0 coming back I can only hope it is as amazing as 4/5/0 was.

Dang they should have brought them to PS4 (the ps2 games I mean) with this announcement. Missed opportunity. What about PC emulation? I've found them for around 10 bucks a piece, I'll bite at that price.

Last I checked, Zero and Five work great on PCSX2. Four had some issues that may have been fixed by now.

Zero is my personal favorite - style, writing, music, etc - but you really should play them in order.

i think emulation of the ps2 games on pcsx2 is still pretty busted
i stand corrected

you can easily emulate ac3 though, and there is an active translation project for the japanese version. the entirety of disc 1 is currently playable

Will this also be available outside of PSVR? I have a Vive so I'm not excited about needing to buy PSVR. Though I'm looking forward to playing on PS4.

I've been waiting for a new traditional Ace Combat game since that Assault Horizon disaster. I feared we wouldn't get one, but after that AC7 trailer last year my hope was renewed. And after a fucking YEAR of silence, we get this badass trailer.

Oh man, it feels good to see the series return. Now all I need is Soul Calibur to get some love like this.

Fake Edit: MechaX, we might not get Razgriz depending on where in the timeline it is. Shit, last time Erusea was a player in Strangereal was AC04. This might be a stealth remake of AC4.

They showed the Ulysses asteroid in the trailer along with what looks like the crater from previous games, I wouldn't be surprised if there are a couple of flash backs to previous events going by the clips in the trailer.

So far we've see that drone carrier Arkbird they called the Arsenal Bird or something.

I'm seriously hoping that space elevator tower thing is loaded with that energy beam weapon

The wiki has a note from an interview that it's after AC6, but not very close to Electrosphere, but who knows if that's still accurate.

But Erusea trying to take on Osea is kinda funny given how badly Erusea got it's shit pushed in during AC4. But given that Stonehenge shows up, seems likely that Erusea may try to use it again (and who knows, maybe they are in cahoots with Usea this time to put a little twist on the events in 4).

... I just realized I am nerding out about Strangereal in 2016. It has been too damn long.

Yeah the space elevator will be involved somehow, I'm sure.

I would be very surprised if we don't have some mission with it falling to pieces, too. Something kinda like the kill-sat finale in 5.

Trailer hyped me up for this, hope it is fully playable in PSVR. Even though we have a lot of dogfighting games/experiences on PSVR right now, there is no full blown SP one.
