Pokémon Sun & Moon |OT| Ultra Beasts and where to find them

Missingno as a UB would be pretty freaking awesome if they did that in stars. Make a backstory about it as the first UB to appear or something lol. It can be code named UB Glitch.

You know, something I was thinking about today that would of been super awesome: If the UB missions were you going thru wormholes to past regions to capture them and these past regions all looked exactly how they looked on there respected games. Example: Go thru a wormhole to end up the RBGY gameboy version of virdian forest to catpure Buzzwole or somewhere in Sinnoh with DS graphics. Would of been a fun little throwback

So I have four TM, are they one time or infinite use?

I haven't used any of them and I finished the first trial moving into big guy, an I missing anything? One TM is caked brick breaker.

What did we do to deserve the Festival Plaza?

RIP PSS... ;_;

Thanks, did I miss a bunch of secrets?
Don't worry about missing anything... I don't think that there are any (need a fact check on this, but at least to my knowledge) important items that can be permanently missed in the game. I got pretty much everything on my (slow) playthrough - none of it was terribly important (sans for a few key TMs, like Earthquake, for example), and all of it can be had after the game has finished or at any other time between.

Everything that matters can be had at a later point. You will likely be backtracking at some point anyway, so really don't think too much of it.

If you're looking for a specific TM, you can find a comprehensive list (with locations) here.

Well, looking at my box I don't have any Steel. I have Steel moves, but no Steel types and haven't encountered any besides Beldrum, which I never caught.

Using status moves is good too,

I have sleep and could use it, if only it didn't one-shot my Petlil that can't outspeed it to sleep/leech-seed/Giga Drain it to death as best it can.

Bite doesn't do enough damage. I can one-shot Haunter (it never brought out Gengar) but standing against Mimi is impossible. I don't ever keep stat-raising or lowering moves as it's (IMO) a waste of a turn to take a hit when I can just STAB and super effective most 'mons.

Edit: Nevermind. You're talking about the trial

Pretty sure you can catch Absol in Tapu Village. Though that won't do you well against the Totem. I used Dugtrio against the totem.

What's an ideal nature for Type Null/Silvally? Honestly its stats and moveset is hard to pin for an ideal style

It's probably going to be very team specific. Since Silvally has such lame stats and movepool, I imagine it's gonna be used for teams that are desperate for some kind of resist in singles.

For Singles, I think the only things Silvally are going to be good at are using Parting Shot and maybe Exploding, so a +Speed Nature sounds about right. I'd go for Naive since its physical movepool isn't very good, so it will probably want to go mixed.

As for doubles... It does get Snarl I guess, so maybe more defensive natures can work there? Again, probably a very team specific thing, so for Doubles, I guess I'd aim for Modest, Bold, or Calm. Naive might still work there too if all you want to do is go boom.

If your Petilil already has Giga Drain you should probably just evolve it, then it might be able to tank a hit so it can get a sleep powder off. I think the Sun Stone is outside the Geothermal Plant if you missed it.

Also, whatever fire move your Growlithe has is probably better than Bite vs. Mimikyu because of STAB.

Sucks that its stats are mediocre and the movepool is shit. They could have at least given it a diverse moveset.

Alright, beat the postgame as well, and man that was boring. Big step down from Delta and even XY's postgame. Drags the whole game down a bit.

Guess I'll focus on padding out the dex at first then, uh... the Battle Tree's all there is left really?

Had to PP stall a Double Team/Substitute/Confuse Ray Rotom in Tree and then after it runs out of moves I land 2 stone edges in a row. RNG pls.

Mimikyu Theory Time

Its already known that it dons a Pikachu mask for 3 reasons:
1) It needs to hide its true form as seeing it can apparently kill
2) It noticed that Pikachu was the most beloved pokemon and has tremendous marketing and in an effort to not be lonely it pretends to be it
3) It hates pikachu and has a resentment towards it, why is unknown

So what pokemon could hate pikachu? And even though pikachu is popular certainly its not nearly as popular in Alola?

Its a Fairy/Ghost pokemon. There's another theory, a much older one....Gengar is the shadow of Clefairy or the ghost it becomes after death. A ghost and a fairy....Not to mention that Clefairy was at one point supposed to be the mascot of the series and not Pikachu. However Pikachu won the bigger appeal and got to be in the anime leaving Clefairy not even relegated to sidekick but ignored entirely. That has to hurt.

So then why aren't there mimikyu in Kanto? Fairy wasn't a type at the time and was undiscovered yet who knows if mimikyu even donned the pikachu cloth until much later. Perhaps Mimikyu has been in kanto but its disguise was poor and those who saw it simply couldn't understand it as if it were a lovecraftian monster. All they saw was....a missingno.
It's obviously the Jigglypuff in the anime gone mad, all the drawings supports that, and it's also a fairy type now i think.

Took some time, finally got destiny knot, and like instantly I got as close to 6IV pokemon I could get with the eggs with just 2 ok parents (4 IVditto+ the pokemon i chose).

Trying to add a good bu lky support that i can switch into with my tapu koko & raichu lead, anyone knows something with good synergy with those 2(VGC)?

I always think it's silly when people think Pokémon gives a SHIT about type discontinuity. The universe cares 0% about whether or not Fairy had been discovered in Gen I, and it treats it as if it's been that Type the whole time. They aren't going to address it and they shouldn't. Otherwise you're going to have to explain why Clefairy did a 180 on its interaction with Fighting, and there's no need to do that.

Found a workaround to Sketch Self-Destruct onto Smeargle without double battles.

1. False Swipe a wild Smeargle, wild Smeargle learns False Swipe
2. Switch out to a Pokemon with Skill Swap
3. Skill Swap a fresh SOS Smeargle
4. Switch out to a Pokemon with Damp, SOS Smeargle gets Damp
5. Switch out to a Pokemon with Entrainment, Entrainment Pokemon gets Damp
6. Entrainment on False Swipe Smeargle, False Swipe Smeargle gets Damp
7. Switch out to a Pokemon with Self-Destruct
8. KO the Skill Swap Smeargle
9. Fresh SOS Smeargle learns Self-Destruct
10. Swap in own Smeargle and Sketch Self-Destruct

I am in the middle of the third island and I'm neither happy with my team right now, nor have I even landed on six yet.

Current team:

Alolan Marowak Lvl 36
Lycanroc Lvl 40
Decidueye Lvl 37
Toucannon Lvl 36
Espeon Lvl 36

I want to keep Marowak, Lycanroc and Toucannon, but I would have no problem getting rid of Decidueye & Espeon. The former falls in the long line of final starter Pokemon evolutions that I don't like (The original three are basically the exception & even then I only really love Blastoise and Bisaflor). and Espeon is a glass canon that goes down like nothing, which is not really fun.

Still waiting for Ice-Vulpix to appear, will straight wander onto my team. But eh...not particularily happy right now. Worse, that all my other favourites I want to consider fall all into the same 3, 4 types or are also Kanto-mons. Growlith, Snorlax, Haunter, Herdier, Pangoro, Komala, Golem.

But... I have to say... that makes it almost more worthwhile to keep playing. In the beginning I was almost worry I locked myself in to fast without much room to change. Now it is more a journey of figuring out which Pokemon are perfect for me. It does help that I don't know the Pokedex.

Man I love this game... (this post sure did a 180 haha)

You can already get Komala. Vulpix and Pancham should be coming up soon.

Komala also gets a good grass move so it might be your chance to drop Decidueye.

Ah, I am sorry. Those are Pokemon I already have except for Vulpix, but don't really want to put in my team because their type is already covered (or Normal lol).

It makes me wonder if Pelipper is gonna maintain the status. Drizzle and the increase of one of its stat was a massive surprise.

It sucks how Night Lycanroc seems so heavily outclassed by the day version.
Reminds me of chesnaught waiting for move tutors lol. Head smash, iron tail, mega horn and cross chop/dynamic punch would work wonders with no guard. Oh and The elemental/Drain punches.

Is there a particular Pokémon you Guys would like to see a Giveaway for?

I'm currently enjoying breeding more than i thought i would, and the Christmas season got me in the mood to give something to others.

I already prepared a box full of 4-5 IV Jolly Sneasel with Fake Out, Icicle Crash and Throat Chop that i'm gonna send away trough Wondertrade, but i dunno, maybe there's something you guys would like me to give away?

If it's a Pokémon i can do, i'm gonna be more than happy to fill up 2-3 boxes of that Pokémon to give it to you :)

I'm struggling to get into this. The whole Hawaii theme doesn't do anything for me and I'm not sure yet exactly how these trials work that replace gyms. I guess I'll just push forward and see what happens. I doubt I can do any wrong. This game feels like it holds your hand much more so than any of the previous games. Even the Pokedex has waypoints to show you where to go. For someone new then yeah of course this is good but a lot of people will have played the other games and don't need this.

One thing I like so far is that HM's aren't a thing anymore. Thank goodness. I hated having HM slaves. My pokemon so far are Pichu lvl 10, Pikipek lvl 11, Litten lvl 13. I always pick similar Pokemon in every game. Always get the cute little bird pokemon (Pidgey) and always get a Raichu if I can. Gonna evolve my Pichu then force Pikachu to evolve. Really want the new Vulpix so I can get an Ice type Ninetales! Other than that I don't know what other pokemon to get.

Does hail occur naturally at Mount Lanakila at any point? Do you need a Pokemon with Snow Warning to instigate it? The only Pokemon that does so in this game is Vulpix's hidden ability...

Yeah, No Guard is a cool ability but right now he's probably more likely to be harmed by it than benefit from it.
Part of the problem with his design is that he's not bulky enough. And counter is a terrible trade off for Accelerock, considering it would have made way better use of it t finish off foes.

That's a nice gesture from you👍

It happens naturally, but Vanilluxe is also available with Snow Warning.

I'm not sure that evolutions work with battle weather, though.
