so smackdown with cena return finally beat raw in the ratings.

o shit

This week's Wild Card Finals episode of WWE Smackdown Live garnered 2,885,000 viewers on the USA Network.

This is up +247,000 viewers from the week prior and the first week ever that a first-run episode of Smackdown averaged more viewers than a first-run episode of WWE Raw.

We saw it coming as Smackdown was closing the gap and with a strong episode loaded with the return of John Cena and multiple title matches, it officially dethroned Raw. In fact, only the first hour of this week's Raw (which averaged 2,974,000 viewers) did more viewers than the average of this week's episode for the blue brand.

get fucked raw you garbage show

I like that you guys are celebrating like WWE cares which of their shitty productions is watched more... Especially since this means their total number of viewers across both shows is now higher than it was last year.

This past show was well under 3.0 mark and then some. To compare:

2015 show
Hour one: 3.70 million
Hour two: 3.49 million
Hour three: 3.43 million

2014 show
Hour one: 3.17 million
Hour two: 3.47 million
Hour three: 3.72 million (Bryan's retirement)

Smackdown isn't shitty, but thanks for popping by.

AJ loads the bases and Cena knocks it out the park.

Wasn't Vince's response last time SD beat Raw in ratings just making Smackdown shittier?

Key differences: They're both on the same network, and they're both live. Vince is fine as long as his quarterly calls can start with him boasting how viewership is up.

It's like a weekly showing of an Abu Dhabi race after the championship has been decided.

Reigns beating Taker in his last match would be a hilarious way to turn him heel. I absolutely love Reigns right now so I really wouldn't mind that match no matter the outcome. Reigns is a killer worker.

Though Big Daddy Meltz said before that no plan for Mania involves the coronation of Reigns, so those two can contradict each other.

apart from miz and aj its pretty shitty just one hour less helps.

I love the tag division too. Actually made me give a shit about Bray in a long ass time. They need to build up a couple of other people into the world title and IC pictures and maybe get the belt back off Bliss, but other than that, it's probably the happiest I've been with a WWE weekly main brand show in well over a decade.

Diy vs tozawa and tajiri was really good, amazes me how the "developmental" brand continues to do tag matches so much better than the main brand.

The style is completely different. The tag team style on NXT is much much closer to something out of the indies than WWE style of heels dominating -> hot tag -> either match over then or heels cheat to win. Main roster tag matches are still that formulaic style, and that's why I can rarely get into them.

Also, I just realized we haven't had a 6 man tag as the main event of a show in like, months. holy cow

Yeah that match was a blast. Good stuff. Gonna watch Asuka/Jax and Joe/Nak tonight.

It was amazing how almost no one in the crowd looked at a cell phone, ever. Even during the weak matches.

Think he's making random nxt appearances now yeah

Sums it up well, wwe tag matches just don't have that excitement nxt stuff has, you can see what's coming a mile off.

I must admit all year I found it hard to imagine the Pissing the Crowd Off factor of Mania 32 being topped by Mania 33, but being months away from it and knowing two of the likeliest results are Cena and Reigns both leaving with belts makes me feel it might actually be easily pulled off

Now that I think about it more, a Mania of Cena/Taker/Reigns/Br*ck/Seth/Dean completely shitting all over the past year of JeriKO/Sheamus/Cesaro/Finn/Styles would be even more of an ultimate Fuck You than Mania 32, and it wouldn't be close (the shitting on Styles part would be cool tho)

Nope, the tag & womens division are also entertaining. Midcard needs work.

I love SD and think it's the better show by far but I do wish it was differentiated from RAW more...

I had a conversation with a friend of mine the other day and we were talking about the brand split....I've always thought and still think they should've turned SD into what NXT is now basically, load RAW up with all the "superstars" and big names so you get your sportz entertainment show for the week and make SD basically a "super indy" with AJ, Balor, Joe, Nak, Zayn, Cesaro, AA, DIY, Revival on and on and on. Hell move the Crusierweights there too...really spin it as something different and appeal to the hardcore smarks. Keep NXT as pure developmental.

Sadly they're hellbent on making NXT a thing and stuff like 205 Live and content content content that they're watering everything down to a degree IMO....

I'm glad they brought back luchadora. After they spent the gimmick in one episode I said they should bring her back as a way of introducing Asuka or Mickie James.
