The "Berenstain" Bears. Is my brain broken?

Ok so I grew up reading and being read the Berenstain Bears.

However I distinctly remember my teachers saying "Bernstein" and I remember seeing "Bernstein".

I went to go read my son one of their stories tonight and saw the title and noticed it looked odd. It read, "Berenstain". Needless to say it kind of freaked me out so I went through my son's other BB books and it all read as "Berenstain". I then I went online and it read "Berenstain" as well.

So all this time my family, teachers and I have been mispelling and mispronouncing the "Berenstain" Bears. It's just so odd because I have such vivid memories of SEEING "Bernstein". I guess it's just the mind playing tricks on me.

Unbelievable.

We slipped into the -stain universe somehow. It's how Trump got elected and 2016 sucked so bad. -Stain timeline is the darkest timeline.

Oh thank God. So I'm not crazy it's just that the version I have is "stain"

Yeah, on the spine of some of the books it's misprinted as stein and in some of the text in the books it's stein too. They just didn't have their shit together. With the newer prints of the books the mistakes were obviously noticed and removed.

This particular situation is not the evidence people need to look at for altering timelines...

also known as I'm such a narcissist that I can't possibly have mis-remembered something and we're actually constantly phasing in and out of different dimensions/timelines.

Berenstein people get a free pass because it has been printed both ways though.

C-3PO has two gold legs in Star Wars...

He's had the silver leg since the original film. People that think otherwise, in spite of the proof, are crazy.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that this will not go away even though any cursory inspection of how the brain and memory work make it very explainable, or that the one example of it no one can get over is the last four letters of a damn children's book.

When half the population starts remembering that WW2 never happened or wonder how Trump is president because they could swear Jill Stein won then it might be worth discussing.

my favorite part is the book where it's spelled both ways on it

Stein is a much more common spelling in a last name. The Mandela effect is mostly just stuff like that; a loophole in the "rules" that causes a large percentage of the population to trip up. How people can't see it for what it is is beyond me. Reality is weird as shit no doubt, but this isn't why.
