Got a Green Goblin as my free hero. First non dupe in awhile. Got another Rocket costume tho. I've gotten like 3. And not the cool ones

They kept referring to the Nick Fury concept as "Nickromancer" (as a dig onto the Diablo Necromancer), so it seems like he's more going to be about swarm summons rather than a unique summon like Luke Cage's summon tree is.

Old spidey does Symbiote Spider-Man, Back in Black, Superior Spider-man, and Amazing Spider-man.

Other than those and enhanced costumes I think everything else is Drake Bell.

Punisher upgrade (who I haven't played in forever) and a dupe white Venom. Considering I wouldn't even own a quarter of the costumes in games, pretty disappointing all around.

It's kind of sad to see those posts from Asros as he tries to be excited about the stale events rotation. Lunar New Year might be fun so long as it isn't completely a Moon Knight thing. Cuz he's boring.

Nope. We have all power designers working right now on hero iteration, bug fixes, difficulty slider tuning, boss/mob updates or beast and jubilee. Once that work starts spinning down we can start transitioning them on to Omega Item powers, but that may not be for a while. We'll be living with uniques for a bit longer, meaning Beast and Black Bolt at a minimum will ship with uniques.

Seems like the "omega items coming a month after talents" isn't happening.

Big patch will bring BIF, difficulty slider, talents, chapter 5/6, artifact updates, Infinity system and likely Beast (possibly not Beast).

Omega items are like... over 2 months away based on my interpretation of that reply.

I think the patch will be in a week and a half or so and beast probably with it or close behind it. Then I have no idea how long black bolt will be, probably like 2-3 months.

Puts omega items like 4-6 months away since Asros said at minimum those two heroes would have uniques, leaving the possibility for more heroes launching before omega items.

Either way it's honestly pretty unacceptable. The advance pack from last year wont be done until we're a third into 2017 and for multiple months we'll be playing to farm unique items that we know will eventually be useless.

But since I don't play it's more a point and laugh unacceptable and less a "what the fuck" unacceptable.

Sure, none of us really play any more- that's how we're able to maintain this level of academic discourse.

My predictions are Beast in February, Black Bolt in June, Fury and omega items in October, and they quietly remove the 2016 from the name on April 1.

That's pretty much been my relation to the game for the last 18 months or so, just looking at everything going "how is this thing not dead or on life support and who makes these decisions?"

The Marvel brand is insanely powerful, and has extremely loyal and spend-happy fans, a lot of which have been supporting the game since the start. Especially now that the Marvel Avengers Alliance games are dead, there aren't a lot of reasonably entertaining Marvel games to play right now.

Puzzle Quest is just a Puzzle Quest game which appeals only to a certain type of players, Avengers Academy is a glorified screensaver, and so is Future Fight, the latter of which is probably the currently most successful Marvel mobile game. Hell even Contest of Champions continues to survive merely because of the Marvel brand, because that game is rubbish and I don't understand how it still is not only going strong, but also looks to be outliving the actually good Avengers Alliance games.

Among those games, Marvel Heroes stands out as being the only one with genuine gameplay and also the only one not on mobile, so all the non-mobile Marvel fans are playing it and spending on it. They just don't care there's better games out there, because they aren't Marvel.
In other words, Marvel Heroes only continues to live because of it being the only Marvel game on PC. Though even it isn't doing all that hot, given the layoffs.

Yeah, the costume closet is coming along really well, but as it has been alluded to many times over the past year or so - costumes per prestige will be going away in a future patch. Consider this your warning! If you want to get those free costumes, the next weeks/months will be the time to do it. We might even do a big XP/prestige bonus weekend to even help you do that! We have no plans right now to remove the blender recipe, however since dupe costumes from some sources will still be a possibility.

Costumes and costume revenue is a very important part of our business. We understand that there are many free to play players out there who will be disappointed in this decision. We feel very strongly that going forward, purely cosmetic things like costumes, for the most part(achievements/log in gifts as exceptions), should be cash shop items. Sometimes we have to make unpopular decisions for the betterment of the long term health of the game and the company. The reason for the free defaults was to make prestiging easier for players who had high level costume cores attached. Now with the changes to catalyst system, that is no longer a necessity.

We are still discussing other potential rewards for prestige, but no solid plans just yet.

Like many veteran players, I've got a roster sitting at max level. Prestiging them all creates two issues: the green name is indistinguishable from the rest of the text, and the characters will be at level 1 when the big patch comes and I want to test them.

So it appears the only solution is to prestige every character to a thematically appropriate prestige color. Good thing no one's canonical color is yellow...

I think the default costume will simply be the default option from a drop-down menu once you own the hero.

thats fine then. If they are only cutting down on the extra ones for blending, thats actually completely understandable because those first few prestiges are super fast. We dont need them to come out and say (even tho they just did lol) that costumes is where they get the bulk of their money, that was obvious and its the same for all these games.

im starting to think alot of these changes are just a set up so in the next year or two the game can just go into auto mode and roll money in while they move on to something else, which when the community manager took over they already stated michaelmay was working on another game

its also funny because just last month asros dropped hints bout this costume closet thing and then backtracked after the outrage of the costumes on prestige being removed saying dont worry guys this isnt even set in stone and is monnnnnnnnnnths away. lol

At least they're being clear about it up front. And since defaults will already be there in the new system, everyone can blend all of the defaults they have for fun. Unless you already did so like Rhak of course.

I'm sure a lot of people here have been here from the beginning but this has been the way since Day 1. Hell even in the beta they would be like "Feature X is coming in 2 weeks" month and a half later it would show up. I bought 4 or 5 founders packs (I honestly dontt remember now it's been so long ago) and have been playing since the beta and I don't believe they have ever hit more than 1 time frame (I don't think it's any but I'll be willing to give them the BotD that they hit one somewhere along the way). This is 100% SOP for Gaz. I enjoy the game, but it's still annoying.

I just put 108 costumes in the blender.

Hank Pym, Elizabeth Olsen, pirate and cowboy Deadpools, halloween Ben, red Reed, white Sue, and trenchcoat Frank were the highlights of what I didn't already have.

You are correct sir. I have zero default costumes. Not even poor ol' Tasky, his default was my favorite until the Future Avengers or whatever the fuck its called dropped.

edit: actually thats a lie, I use Elektra's default because her tv alt was trash. And I guess technically Captain MArvel's is also her default now. Im nothing but a filthy liar afterall :(

edit: and which Nova is Rich? if its the default I also use that. More lies!
