Damn. Lol
On this I definitely agree. This E3 is gonna make or break the Xbox brand, thats for sure.
Good luck selling that.
Kinect almost useless, no new games use it
Few exclusives
Appealing games getting canceled...
What's the point of buying an xbone?
Good luck selling that.
Did Sony not have to gut an expensive project at SSM that wasn't working out? Obviously, this isn't a 1-to-1 situation as Playstation 4 is in an enviable position from both a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party viewpoint, but the principle remains the same. Projects get cancelled, and sometimes, they need too.
Honestly, MS has been a disaster this gen. I'm enjoying my Xbox One but I keep getting the feeling it should have been so much more.
Kamiya walks into Sony HQ and says "I got an idea for Lair 2"
Good luck selling that.
I mean, considering how TLG doesn't seem to be blowing up the charts, this is honestly good VS bad business.
But, it does inspire confidence for the future (or concern in MS' case) as a consumer, yeah.
Good luck selling that.
I don't quite understand how Platinum stays afloat.
Their best games are commercial flops, and their commercial successes (success may be too strong of a word) are budget titles. Then this shit?
How are they still around? Thank fuck they are, but...how?!
I can see the press release now.
"Due to issues with our cloud service we have stopped development on Crackdown 3. However, no clouds means a bright future for XBOX."
Actually if you look at the profit margins for games this gen that model specifically not only is the most profitable, but it's what most developers in general are leaning towards. Sony's been doing it too, with the shit ton of grinding/MTs in the MP of ND's games which are among their most expensive games to produce.I believe Microsoft is stupid enough to go through with this.
Hmmm Platinum is not exactly knocking it out of the park anymore.
It's time to save a new game Nintendo!
Hopefully Jeff grills Phil at E3 2017 about this like he's done before
Salt and MS hate.
That being said though. If they're games as a service thing is to be believed I'm sticking with PlayStation and grabbing a switch.
Better to release a few really great games then it is to release many mediocre games
Glad they had the guts to nuke it
We goin back to back. Back to back.

My take on all this, and I've been seeing this for a while, is that Microsoft is transitioning all their games to the 'live service' model.

Basically Microsoft want to have their games emulate what Minecraft has been able to do.
Long lifecycle, large user base, Increased spend.

Microsoft's future direction is about being able to offer the Xbox games and live services on multiple devices that run Windows 10.
........because their games do sell?I don't quite understand how Platinum stays afloat.

A portion of GAF is just going to go with its all MS fault, and Kamiya and Platinum are totally innocent.
Its annoying but we basically just have to accept that's the way its going to go
2 out of 3 of those Activision titles were bad, one was a decent b game and star fox zero was garbage.Three Activision licensed titles, one of which was at least solid, and Star Fox Zero with most of the design work done by Miyamoto/Nintendo. I'd say Platinum's supposed fall from grace is mostly overblown baloney.
Good luck selling that.
It's missing the "amiibo" logo.
Either way game's dead now.
