wait, N++ has more than 2000 levels?

So basically, you'll never finish it then, right? =/

No, it's actually pretty beatable given the number of levels, the difficulty of the final tier of unlockable expert levels is more likely to be a roadblock in that regard.

Almost all the levels are really short challenges with instant restarting, so while it does have a lot of content, it's nowhere near impossible.

N++ has 1000+ levels and is, mechanically, arguably my favorite series of platformers (N, N+, N++) I've ever played. It is challenging, but it hides most of the nefarious pixel-perfect platforming that ruined the second half of Super Meat Boy behind optional challenges (collectables) within the levels.

Passing on it because it "looks like a flash game" is so bone-headedly shortsighted I don't even know how to argue against that logic. GAME IS GOOD.

GAME IS GOOD.
All of this is true.

And N++ is also the best coop platformer.

So I made the mistake of setting VA-11 Hall-A to fullscreen and got a black screen.

Now it doesn't matter what I do, it boots into a black screen. Was excited to play this. :/

Any ideas?

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I thought there were no more updates?

The new version is just a quick maintenance release that fixes issues caused by a change Valve made. It was a single-line fix (that was submitted via Github by a user) that corrected a widespread problem, so I decided to push out an update.

You'll need to redownload the program from the website and simply overwrite the version you're using now with the updated binaries.

Aren't there fairly few "Overwhelmingly Positive" games on Steam? Couldn't we pretty well narrow down the possibilities for second week additions?

The kid speed running Descent 2 called the game "old school". I was 16 when it came out.... lol :-(

You're an old goat.

I was also 16 when it came out.

Everyone forgot what you were talking about... But I too was 16 the year of Descent 2, the game...not the movie..
1980 twas a good year

Extra Question for those wondering why they read this post: Can you add someone to your ignore list while using m.neogaf.com? or only full website?

Also: that wasn't a sneaky suggestion to add me to your ignore list!

Often, second week additions are games that were already bundled. I'm gonna guess BattleBlock Theater.

Not to be captain obvious, but the "overwhelmingly positive" thing is a pun (or whatever) right? Referring to both emotionally cheery titles as well as the "++".

N plusplus = positive positive = overwhelmingly positive

EDIT: Oh it's referring to steam reviews, my bad

That's actually a good point and wouldn't surprise me as being how they came up with the idea.

Well, you could figure out where the game stores its settings and directly edit or delete that.

Borderless Gaming saved the day - thanks all for the suggestions.

I'm only 40 minutes in and I'm already convinced my GOTY rankings are going to need shifting though...

Singleplayer in RE5 isn't just harder because of the iffy AI, but the game (and I may be wrong here) doesn't compensate for the gold/treasure value. In coop, when player 1 picks up gold/treasure, player 2 also gets it at the full amount. So one emerald found becomes two, one for each player to sell. Chris and Sheva can purchase and upgrade their gear simultaneously. Whereas playing alone means having to prioritize between the two.

Right now, it's Chris with the handgun and shotty, Sheva with the TMP and rifle. I'm focusing on damage and capacity upgrades.

Ah cool, thanks :)

Just downloaded it now; did it not used to be an .exe file before instead of a rar package?

That's true, but in coop gold also isn't shared. But I see what you're getting at, since you're having to take care of two characters. The biggest thing when playing solo is prioritize the armor, and Sheva really only needs an upgraded pistol and whatever you don't wanna carry.

Doesn't each character get gold when the other picks it up? So Chris finds 100G, Sheva automatically gets it too. Works the same way as treasure, more or less. I actually didn't know about any of this until I watched Brad and Huber (EZA) coop the game awhile back.

Normally, I don't upgrade anything for Sheva at all. I just give her the TMP (and sometimes the handgun) and be done with it. But this time, I'm trying to make it easier for myself.

Depression is being removed from Steam at some point as the sales were disappointing.

Why remove it? Is steam charging them rent?

Yeah it is shared what is picked up. But the gold itself being picked up isn't more on the map. In coop Chris picks up 100G and Sheva gets 100G. In SP you're only getting the 100G once. But the amount on the map is the same, except you're dealing with two characters instead of one. However the money is more than enough. Also worse comes to worst you can farm rocket launchers or treasures if you REALLY need to,

So it's kinda weird, but it works out. Since like I said in coop money isn't shared. It might be in split screen, but it's been ages since I played that way so I can't recall. But

Now, this I don't understand.

...Touché.

I was planning on just spending the money on the system and maybe a game or two. Two days later I've spent $50 on a cover plate and a bunch of other stuff lol.

The more I see of the switch the less interested I become. I'll get it in a year or two when the library builds up a bit.

That's a solid point. The 3DS has a great library with a pretty wide reach, in terms of variety of game types.

The Switch needs more oomph. There are too many WiiU remakes in the current line up for me to be an early adopter. I mean, there's no improving Mario Maker at all.

That and I'm sure it will be a complete pain in the ass trying to buy one in the first 6 months of launch going by typical Nintendo artificial scarcity bullshit.

That's what I said? The game doesn't compensate the pickups for singleplayer by, for example, doubling the gold.
