Nintendo Switch accessories (Hori/Officially licensed by Nintendo)

5Ghz isn't inherently superior to 2.4. In fact, it's kinda worse on its own, it's just used less so the spectrum is more free.

In my home, I chose to use 2.4 as it actually performs better over a larger distance.

ah no, 5ghz is capable of much higher speeds

infact i get 1/2 the speed on the 2.4ghz band than i get on the 5ghz band on my router

Nah, both 5 and 2.4 can operate at the same speeds. That's a part of the protocol (a, b, g, n, ac,) which can work on either frequency.

5 is faster for you because it's a less congested frequency, but if that wasn't a problem for you than 2.4 is actually better at penetrating walls.

If Hori was going to make a Pokken controller, it would probably look like this.

Probably.

Correct. There's also less attenuation over distance at lower frequencies (when broadcasting at equal power) so you tend to get better range on 2.4GHz.

There should be an ethernet port in the base stand but if this adapter at least slots into the base port, and doesn't use up the USB on the Switch itself.. then that's fine.

Kinda getting excited to see what Nintendo have got to show, and to see impressions of the device in the next few weeks. I want one. Probably don't need one, but I want one. Hope it has a broad slate of games from day one, no reason why not with Wii U ports and perhaps even Gamecube digital titles...

no they arent i have very little congestion in my area and i can only get half of the speed even right to the router,

and ac only officially supports 5ghz

The stick is the most interesting thing. Tekken 7 would probably need a major graphical downgrade to run on it. Haven't seen enough Marvel, but it seems to be a simpler looking game.

Tekken on the go would be amazing. Or KOF! That doesn't look too demanding. Please don't be Marvel :x

An arcade Stick ?

That was interesting and I hope that we might get a few fighting games available at launch. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 would be great and Tekken 7 would be glorious.

I don't know if there is a dela between Sony and SNK, but KOF XIV is also welcome.

Is Arc System Works a Switch developer? The BlazBlue and Guilty Gear series would also be welcome.

i already have a Wii U ethernet adapter so i'm set on that. just unplug from the Wii U and plug to the Switch dock.

Anyone know if the Wii/Wii U USB Ethernet adaptor will work with the Switch? I realise that the actual Switch only has USB-C but what about the dock? Does that have standard USB3 or is it only USB-C?

Yeah I liked that the Wii U could use the Wii Ethernet ↔ USB adapter; it alleviated a bit the console's lack of Ethernet port.

I am a bit surprised at how much discussion there is over an Ethernet port though.

I can't believe I just scrolled through 17 pages of people going on and on about the ethernet adapter and not one person mentioned this thing at all. Doesn't anyone else find it odd that Hori is selling a charging station for 4 joycons? They seem to think that a lot of people will have multiple Switches at their house if you would need to charge 4 joycons. Either that bodes well for a cheap price as in multiple kids in a family having their own Switch or Nintendo is going to sell them separately like a spare nunchuk. I can't imagine a scenario where you would buy extra of these tiny controllers instead of a pro controller so I think that might be a good indicator of a $199 version of the system.

I recreated that leaked Zelda skin.

Wow the skin looks like that on the dock??

It's not going to be $199.

Anyways I think the 4 charging joy cons looks cool.

Having to fork out £30 for an Eternet connector again is a joke. No reason for it not being included in the dock. I wonder if Wii/Wii U Ethernet adapters will be compatible?

Can't believe we are finally seeing stuff though. Hype levels reaching critic mass!

Hmm seems like you are right about ac, must have misremembered or misread that. Either way, there is still a need for the 2.4 band due to its distance and penetrating advantages.

I'm not saying that there will only be a version at $199 but maybe one at $199 that is just the bare handheld system that a family could share and then the $250-300 system that also comes with the base and a game.

I've got a USB->Ethernet adapter from eBay which was literally $2 shipped from China. Have used it for my Wii & currently for my Wii U.

i read more into it and it seems it supports both bands but 5ghz band has twice the speed
