Fire Emblem Musou/Warriors announced

I think the majority of the roster will be Awakenings/Fates characters. I believe that for many, including myself, those are the games that got them into the series.

That would be kind of a shame considering how deep the series goes in terms of releases and franchise history, but I wouldn't be surprised if you were right. No offense, but as a long-time fan of the series, I hope you are wrong.

Post your character speculations here

-Main hero of every game (Only one version of Marth though) = 12
-Lyn
-Erika/Ephraim for whichever one isn't the hero of FE8
-MC of some sort? Create a char? Maybe Robin/Kamui?

Not sure about any antagonists.
The Black Knight is a great candidate for a slow powerhouse of a character.

Likewise. I enjoy the new FE games but they better not leave out the classic characters.

-Chrom/Lucina's Falchion
-Corrin's Yato
-Ryoma's Raijinto
-Xander's Siegfried
-Marth's Falchion

Hmm. Between this and the FE characters showcased in #FE TMS, good bet the focus is on FE1, Awakening and Fates characters.

Still, I'm hoping we get characters from the GBA and GC games. I would love to play as Lyndis, Hector and Ike.

I guess I misunderstood what it was. I don't like Dynasty Warrior games (based on the few I tried back in the PS2 days) and thought it was going to be another Fire Emblem similar to Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Oh well. :(

At the very least I would assume we'd see characters like Marth, Roy, and Ike since they are in Smash Bros. and have a lot of popularity that way. It would a shame to skip the FE 7 lords though, or Lief/Alm/Sigurd.

Since the only Warriors game I've played is Hyrule, I'm wondering. Do any of them have online play? Like co-op or PvP or anything?

While I hope for Awakening/Fates characters, as those are the one I know best, I still hope for some from non-Awakening/Fates/original games. We'll see though.

The large majority of fates weapons in the teaser makes me doubt we're getting anywhere near an even spread. I highly doubt we'll even get one lord from each game tbh. :c

Dynasty Warriors rosters are huge atm (think its up to like 90 characters right now). I could see it going either way. Fire Emblem is more dynasty warriors like in that its ensemble cast is gigantic compared to something like Zelda.

But the other issue is that, the older games don't have voice actors assigned for them (except for Roy) and Dragon Wutever it was didn't have that many characters in the game.

All I'm asking is for every entry in the series to be fairly represented. Like, at least the main protagonist and most popular secondary party member from every entry.

Because it would royally suck if FE: Fates get's the lion share.
Mechanically, the game was great, but I HATED every single character in Fates. Especially the returning characters from Awakening that were masquerading in a different alias.

I'm aware dynasty warriors have huge casts, but I thought the firs iterations of crossover games generally have smaller casts....

(Eirika and Celica pls)

Fucking finally. They had better have a range of playable characters across all the games instead of just the newest games and the first, like TMS did.

Omg if the game is going to end up looking like FE13 and 14 CGs I don't think I can hold off buying it.

Makes me even more excited for FE Switch, if/when that comes out.

Yep, most of the Fates characters pale in comparison to the characters from the rest of the series. There are some good ones, but most were meh, one-note, or (as you said) complete copies of a character from Awakening.

Why not? Hyrule Warriors had different Link and Zelda variations like Young and Toon Link or Tetra and Sheik.

Anyway, i'm expecting the main Lords (including Hector and Lyn, excluding Micaiah) and Avatars, Camilla (because fan service), Tiki (Manakete rep, pre-Awakening to start with an unlockable Awakening version), King Ashnard (flying mount rep), Ranulf (laguz representation), Lyon (dark magic rep) and Serra (healer rep).

I rather liked Fates' cast of characters (returning ones from Awakening included) but I really don't want another repeat of "The History of The Awakening & Fates With Select Bits of History of Older Fire Emblem Games" with Warriors.

I wrote a nice paragraph or two in the survey last year about why this should be their next collab. You can all thank me.

Caz, I really hope you are right about Ranulf, one of my favorites from the Tellius series.

I think the cast will include playable FE character who was in Smash.

Marth, Roy, Ike, Lucina, Robin, Corrin.

I also think we'll get Chrom. Micaiah.

The potential is there for other Lord characters throughout the series like Lyn. I don't think there will be a lot of emphasis on characters from Japan-only games (beyond Roy because of his Smash connections).

The fact is that they still try to implement a story in these games (why? I don't know), and a Hoshido/Nohr/Ylisse faction scenario might be the easiest to follow since most people are familiar with them. Marth/Tiki & Akanea friends can also shove themselves nicely in since it's the same world as Awakening. So yeah, Awakening/Fates roster incoming

I'm expecting boatloads of DLC though like what they've done with Zelda Musou

If it meant a much wider variety of characters represented, would you be okay with movesets for each class rather than each character; with only a few characters getting their own unique movesets?

I wonder if they'll create a new male/female main character for this game like they've been doing for Awakening/Fates.

I'd love it if they made a new version of Anna the main character.

I'd like every set of games to have at least one character, but I don't really mind the inevitable saturation of characters from the most recent games. Whether you like the actual characters or not, you have to admit that they'd be a great fit design-wise for an action game.

There are so many awesome characters in this series they could use.

But judging by their latest efforts in this series and Hyrule Warriors I know they are going to ignore them and make it all about waifus and armour panty windows.

Pretty much. I'm happy Chrom was featured in the teaser trailer, for as much as I adore Lucina, he got the shaft post-Awakening in a lot of Nintendo games so it's cool he was shown.

And I know everyone and their mother have a hard-on for Camilla
's tits n' hips
& Tharja
's booty
. But I want to play as POR's Titania (who is my favourite female character in the series), or Genealogy of the Holy War's Arvis.

I'll actually be incredibly pissed if its like TMS and we get nothing but Akaenia/Awakening/Fates characters. The GBA/GCN/SNES characters deserve representation as well.

That's...tricky. Mechanically speaking, characters in Fire Emblem are differentiated by two factors: Stats and Personality. The latter isn't too hard to replicate assuming they go with a Dragon Quest Heroes-esque levelling system. Likewise, if they give unique skills or even unique specials like they did in Fates, that could work to differentiate between them beyond being simple palette swaps of the same character. The problem is how they handle the latter given that they're more than likely to adopt a system similar to supports if they're going to bother including these characters, especially given the potential banter between Roy and Eliwood ("So...who is your mothe-OH LOOK AT ALL THESE MONSTERS DAD CAN'T TALK BYE"). We saw how bad the overall writing could get in a main entry with Fates so while I did enjoy most of the characters (Soleil notwithstanding), i'm a little wary of the writing quality if they go with a ton of characters as opposed to a more focused cast and conversations.

I need Arthur from Fates in this, I want all his attacks to be accidentally good.
Would like to see Jaffar and Athos as well as Soren though they are less likely.

Please let there be a way to do triangle attacks!

I love how people are already setting themselves up for disappointment by expecting reps from every Fire Emblem entry. Don't forget that they'll probably add playable villains, and maybe even Original Characters (do not steal), so given the amount of games and the guaranteed over-representation of Awakening and Fates, that's going to be a tough call (at least for the launch line-up - they'll probably add everyone and their mom as DLC down the line, and I will buy every single one of them).

Also, Koei Tecmo... Tharja... Camilla... I guess you see where I am going with this. They need to sell you Bikini DLC down the line, so keep that in mind.

#TMS costumes would be so awesome, to get a character is probably too much to hope for though, right? (Supposing Atlus co-owns this?)

I just hope they have a team at KT that actually plays and loves Fire Emblem - I had the feeling the love and care put into Hyrule Warriors came from people that respected the franchise and had a good grasp on what people likes about it and its characters.
They made Ganon a super badass in an unexpected, but really great way for example.

Y'know what makes me really excited?

Costumes.

I REALLY want to be able to play as Chrom as he is in #FE.

Okay, crazy idea here... Hyrule Warriors had the original characters of Lana and Cia. Which were, you know, okay and all. Now if you were to make a new main character to interact with the cast of all the Fire Emblem games and you wanted to be true to the series, what would you do?

"Welcome to Fire Emblem Warriors, please create your avatar."

Maybe even allow class changes so you could use weapons and skills from other characters. I mean, it's a Warriors game. The player character being OP is not exactly a major concern here.

I love fire emblem but I feel like it's being milked to death now. The last three and a half years have been nuts. I'll still buy this though.

I really do hope we get a decently spread cast of characters, but if 3 of the 5 swords shown so far are Fates swords then I have a bad feeling about it, lol

I'm betting Medeus' shadow dragon form will pop up as a boss atleast

Hyrule Warriors was my first foray into the Musuo style and I quite enjoyed it.

Sure, it had a fairly straightforward formula, but they supported the game so well and tied it so uniquely to the nostalgia of the Zelda series.

I expect more of that approach from Fire Emblem. And that puts it up there towards the top of my most-wanted list.

Pls don't even plant the remote possibility of Lyon being in he is da bes and it fills me with sadness that it will not happen

Does it fill you with a feeling of sorrow in your heart? A...lost heart, perhaps?

Sacred Stones' soundtrack does not get enough credit for what they were able to pump out of the GBA's scrappy sound chip.
