PAL Charts - Week 2, 2017

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided first year sales (<100,000) couldn't match what Deus Ex: Human Revolution sold in its first two days back in August 2011.

I wonder where they fucked up. It felt like all the marketing was done for the original February release date. When the actual release date approached six months later, I didn't hear anything about it.

I don't want the series to end but I think it's over :(

I see ya, TLG!

Gravity Rush 2 would be lucky to even do "decently" in Japan.

The best it can hope in rest of the world is to not bomb too badly.

Those olllllllld games will outsell Gravity Rush 2.
Based on estimates, GR2 will be ~15-20K above the original release in Japan.

The Queen is coming!

I hope they release one more game to close the story loop. From a main story perspective DE:MD felt like half a game. That said, I can see them waiting a few years before revisiting the IP, sales were anemic.

TLG doing alright on the individual format charts!
At least it hasn't disappeared into obscurity.

Bought the limited edition today :) Doing my bit…
It's on sale in retail and on psn… Though i'm packed with other games and therefore waited the purchase, i couldn't resist the deal. Bought ICO limited edition way back in 2001(?), before it reached it's cult status… Loved SotC…Actually, ICO made me appreciate 'slow empty atmospheric' games :)

Pretty sure they fucked up by making an extremely unambitious sequel that seemed more like an expansion than anything else.

It's because MD is not very good!

This Gravity Rush 2 talk is bumming me out. It's bumming me out because I know it's all true.

Guess I should just be thankful I got a sequel to one of my favourite games. That's more than any other company would've done, given how the first game performed.

Good man.
I'm guessing you'll enjoy TLG a lot seeing as you like Team Ico's previous work.

Yup, don't think of the likely tepid sales.
Just have fun with the game and enjoy the glorious return of gravity queen.

Did the first part perform well?
I just don't know why gamers can't look beyond the standard fps/fifa/gta games…

Kazuo Hirai

I really want everyone to know how much more Titanfall 2 sold than Nioh. It was a staggering amount.

It's culture difference, whenever "anime" game release ,there're always lots of "weeb trash" comments in western website.

But it's lucky that Sony also own Asia market, such as Yakuza Kiwami Chinese version day1 ship over 200k (more than JP) and Dragon Quest Builders Chinese-Korean version sold more than 100k quickly.

But there're no charts here, sales number can only be told by publishers themselve.

And GAF only care NPD.

Since Halo Seems to be right at 100k for 2016. What did Halo 5 sell in 2015? Just to get an idea of its total so far?

Only two games come out of this bloodbath alive

Only two games come out of this bloodbath alive
RE7 and KH.

I think some of the smaller stuff will be fine though. Yakuza has a pretty low number for total sales across the entire series but the games continue to get localized. GR2 should be fine with lower sales so long as it doesn't completely flounder.

Halo 5 was the 5th best selling Xbox One game ahead of GTA:V in 2015
Halo 5 was the 15th overall best selling game 2 places ahead of MGS:V in 2015

MGS:V sold ~225k units (95% of the market) in the first 3 weeks at retail
MGS:V had a total of 17 weeks on sale in 2015
GTA:V sold ~950k in 2015 no split given

it's really hard to tell, but i would assume something in the 400k range for halo 5

PS4 releases really running hot the next few weeks. Gonna kick my wallet right in the stones.

Also, low bars on both oc, but I notice TLG seems to be continuing to sell better than DR4 I see. 'member launch week? Yeah.

Damn... those Resi 4 PS2 launch numbers are rough. Did the GC version do any better?

Also, I'm betting Resi 7 sales fall somewhere between 70-100k at best personally.

I don't know how it did.

The only thing I know is that according to ELSPA Sales Awards, the GameCube version didn't reach 100,000 units LTD while on PlayStation 2 the game crossed 200,000 units.

GameCube was such a flop that only 8 games crossed 100,000 units during its lifetime.

GameCube > 100,000 LTD

STAR WARS: ROGUE LEADER (LUCASARTS)
SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE (NINTENDO)
SUPER SMASH BROS: MELEE (NINTENDO)
LUIGI'S MANSION (NINTENDO)
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER (NINTENDO)
RESIDENT EVIL (CAPCOM)
SONIC ADVENTURE 2: BATTLE (ATARI)
MARIO KART: DOUBLE DASH!! (NINTENDO)

GameCube > 200,000 LTD

This is shoooocking to me!!!

I thought Melee at last was a >500K level smash hit!

The hell?

How much did RE4 sell? or Metroid Prime?

Resident Evil 4 sold less than 80,000 units in 2005.

I have some GameCube 2005 software data:

Resident Evil 4 < 80,000
Mario Power Tennis ~ 25,000
Mario Party 6 > 20,000
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness - 20,000

10,000 - 20,000

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords
Starfox Assault
Mario Smash Football,
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Killer 7

2,000 - 8,000

Baten Kaitos
Fire Emblem
Viewtiful Joe 2
Battalion Wars
Geist

As you can see by 2005 Gamecube was already done, these software sales are really depressing.
