Uggh, all the local Gamestops in town/@ the mall pulled all their Vita game sections from their mods... It was a very sad moment for me to walk into multiple stores with no Vita section anymore...

It's not really shelf space. They just leave it at the side, like they do with the PC section.

The mall stores said they shipped their copies out... They other store said they pulled them off the shelves and are getting ready to ship them out..

Sucks..

Strange question, but it's unlikely there will be a GOTY edition of Macross Delta Scramble right?

I want to import it but I know half of the game is free DLC which I won't be able to get without a Japanese PSN account.

I know Bamco don't usually do any re-releases but they've not really released a game with this much extra content before (aside from Taiko I suppose) so wondering whether I should hold off on importing for now.

I think the only re-releases Bamco does are the budget price reprints they release under their Welcome Price label. They don't tend to do "GOTY edition" style ones that bundle in extra content.

(You mention Taiko. That got a budget reprint recently, but that's all it is, a cheaper version of the original).

Taiko didn't have any patches or DLC included in the budget re-release right?

So I should be safe importing now?

Correct, Taiko was just the base game.

So yes, you're probably safe to import it now (as long as you're okay with being unable to access the DLC, or playing around with account switching).

A potential rerelease would probably have a lower price point though if that's something you'd consider.

They usually dont.

Cheers for the replies. I'll pick it up now then! Not a fan of the box art on the budget re-releases anyway.

I like it so much I picked up a r3 Chinese text copy in Singapore to go on the shelf next to my JP copy. Superb game.

Yeah, it looks exactly like my kind of thing. I've enjoyed Artdink's other stuff and I'm a sucker for a mech action game.

OT: Rainbite have a Vita dev kit. From what I can tell they're an indie dev who made a Hotline Miami clone called "Slick: Ruff Justice". Though obviously I have no idea if it's that game, might me something else:

Edit: Scrap that, it's not Slick, it's a new title:

Well, that looks kinda fun!

Looks like our #PSVita testing kit is proving itself useful! Any guesses as to what our project's genre is?

Apparently it's an action-RPG or Zelda-like game.

Not quite sure what makes that unique on Vita, but it looks nice enough.

edit: Shizuka will hate me for posting a third time in a row so I'll just edit this post:

Against all odds, looks like the Vita version of Toukiden 2 might be getting a retail release in North America too.

I don't even know how this happened. After Chin saying that Kiwami didn't sell well and Koei-Tecmo releasing no retail Vita games since 2015, I never expected this.

I wrote an article last year about porting studios on Vita. I'm going to do a new one around halfway through the year, but I just thought I'd check in on some of my favourite studios from that list and it's fairly interesting:

- Blitworks, who I think very highly of, are handling Talisman: Digital Edition on Vita. Didn't realise it was them doing it!

- Code Mystics are handling Banner Saga for Sony, which I find an interesting pick as most of their previous porting work has been emulation stuff. Wonder how they'll handle it.

Sadly, all the rest don't seem to have Vita projects in the work (aside from Sickhead Games with Salt & Sanctuary which we already knew about) but interestingly job listings on Just Add Water's website indicate they're at least still working on something for Vita:

Experienced Game Designer

Here at JAW we're looking for a designer to work on a number of titles. Including VR projects, retro titles, and 3d Platforming titles.

You will be working on multiple platforms, such as PlayStation4, PlayStation VR, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation VITA, PC to name a small selection.

That listing has clearly been updated recently(ish) to include Nintendo Switch so I'm tempted to believe they've still got something in the works for it. I wonder what.

Some interesting bits from the Media Create thread:

Accel World vs. SAO will be the final game in the series released on Vita.

I mean, I don't feel too bad, if we get this in the west then we'll have had 4. And Artdink's games are better than Aquira's anyway
come at me bros
, so I'm happy.

I still think they're silly for pushing it as this major console franchise, but there you go.

Shift (God Eater developers) are hiring Unity programmers. So, there's at least a chance that God Eater 3 is a Vita game
with god-awful performance lol

Those of you talking about Gamestops, I'm unable to parse out whether you are talking about a specific game, or the entire Vita section. Are your stores shipping all their Vita stuff away and totally washing their hands of it?

I have a few stores in my area and from what I can tell they all still had their Vita stuff up a few weeks ago. Granted its a small little standup thing near the back with like 2 or 3 rows of games on it, but it is there.

The stores in my area got rid of the entire Vita section in the stores... One of the stores still has their games in the drawers, but is no longer dedicating shelf space for them and replaced the mod with toys, figures and trinkets....

Interested to know if this is just my district, or around the country..

Oh man, the part in bold is like every store now. I was thinking about making a skit where you open the door to a Gamestop and Funkopops just come pouring out like water. All of my stores are like 50% "geek culture" shit that I wouldn't be caught dead with. I fully expect the chain to change its name to "GeekStop" somewhere down the line.

They should change their name to Just Stop. I guess they're doing what they gotta do to stay open, but all that Funko Pop crap is just....ugh. Actually, I've never actually seen anyone buying that stuff while I was in a Gamestop, does it actually even sell?

My local Gamestops do still have a Vita section, though.

Oh yeah that's been the case for over a year. You'd be hard pressed to find more than just a single odd Vita game marked for Clearance at those chains since like 2015.

All of the Gamestop's/EB Games in my city do sell Vita games, however most only have 5-9 of them, with at least a copy or two of Xonic.

All of the Gamestops around me still carry a fair amount of Vita games, which is lucky for me as all the other retailers around here seems to have completely abandoned it.

Only one I saw was a lone copy of Terraria which was shoved in a bargin bin of DVDs for some reason.

i wonder if lego games will still come to the vita, i own like 10 of em and i enjoy the mindless fun.

I wrote an article about this in November but sadly TVL haven't published it yet :(

Considering 3DS has another year of life yet and the Vita games are basically 3DS ports, I can definitely see it happening. LEGO seems to be branching out from licenced games a lot more but I can still see them being a couple of releases this year.

I certainly hope so. They've been a LOT better since LEGO Batman 3 and I really enjoyed Marvel's Avengers and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Lego is hard to gauge because the three most recent announcements are things that are way too high spec for 3DS (Worlds), bizarre console-exclusive remasters (Harry Potter), or a port of a game that already got a 3DS cutdown (City).

Exactly why I think they'll still come. We haven't seen any of their multi-platform-based-on-a-licenced-property games for a while.

I'm expecting a LEGO Batman game. As well as the hinted Guardians of the Galaxy.

Been thinking about using my Vita for Remote Play more recently.

Have any of you guys any experience of analog stick covers? They make the sticks bigger and more like DS4 sticks? If so, any recommendations?

Lichtspeer is still coming.

XSEED have pretty much confirmed they've passed on Uppers. I know they insist that there's been no change in policy and they'll pick up Vita exclusives if they're interested, but I don't believe them. Too many games have been skipped for that to be true.

Save us PQube (interestingly, PQube liked a tweet they were tagged in replying to that message about XSEED passing on it... so I have faith they'll come through for us).

Didn't PQube tease Uppers a few weeks ago or so?
