Resident Evil Community |OT2| Best Fans Ever!

I'm hoping that REmake 2 is just like REmake did, using the camera angles and adding new stuff and lore to the series.

Does anyone think that Capcom should do a Mercenaries game given the lack of the mode in 7. It would be sweet.

I'd buy a Mercenaries & Raid combined for $60
But yeah it is definitely needed.

Honestly Capcom could do a $20 game and just DLC it to hell with classic costumes.

Costumes, stages, characters... they could sell a lot of DLC for that game.

But yeah, a Mercenaries + Raid stand alone game would be awesome. Well, if it had RE6's mechanics of course (or RE5 at least)

I need the RE6 Vanquish slide in any action game they make.

Zavvi sold outta Pop Vinyls and not shipped my order I made forever ago. Anyone know anywhere else selling them in UK for about £7.50 each?

I can't count the amount of times Zavvi have done this to me. I don't see pops below £10 generally, I get them from Amazon or Forbidden Planet stores.

Yeah, both of those ideas would work.

Just don't know how Capcom doesn't go with a game like that (Classic costumes, characters, stages, etc as DLC) and instead give us Umbrella Corps... it irritates me a bit lol

A F2P model like DOA5 and DOAX3 adopted might also be a good idea for a hypothetical Mercenaries + Raid game, maybe implemented a few months after the paid release. It'd help keep the online population up, as well as get players who might not necessarily have been interested in paying $40 just for Mercenaries in a space where they might buy smaller pieces of DLC.

I still don't understand how anyone at Capcom thought that Umbrella Corps is a good idea, especially as the action game for the series 20th anniversary.

Probably would have gotten an ORC2 instead if Slant6 hadn't gone under.
Even as someone who purchased Umbrella Corps I really don't get what Capcom was going for.
it was more regressed mechanically than ORC and most of RE6

On paper the idea sounds fine. But when you then assign it to an all new team of devs, use unity, and a small budget, while for some reason trying to go for esports. You're gonna fail.

I didn't mind tbd attempt, and the game can be fun. But I'm fine with capcom never attempting that again. RE works better as a coop series. The only Versus stuff that has really worked is onslaught.

I still remember 2015's TGS, showing how they've reached the 20th anniversay and the trailer starts... all excited until I see that gameplay.

The fans were mad and bad reactions all over the place.

It was a bad foot to start off with for your "20th" anniversary.

Bleh I hope I like RE7's final third more on madhouse. It's not bad, it's just such a step down from the perfection of everything before.
It might be my least favorite RE endgame apart from most of RE6's campaigns out of all the ones I've played though.

Thinking about it:wouldn't a polished RE 3.5 gameplay work for REmake 2?That'd be a good mix of classic and modern RE.Everbody wins.

The hybrid TPS/fixed camera approach they used there would be an interesting direction to explore for a new title, but not something I'd want to see in RE2 for the same reason I consider a pure RE4-derivative approach to be a poor fit for the game's locations and enemies. I'd actually prefer it to be first person over that, even if retaining the fixed angles would be ideal.

I don't like that style. It's kinda jarring to swap between two styles while you're aiming, and could get messy in more hectic scenarios.

Just beat it.

As I said in the OT, it was a fun romp, but I didn't feel like it did anything special.

I think it at least offered more of a horror tone than the Rev games ever managed to. But I did expect more out of 7 as well. But it at least shows they have a good base to work from for 8.

Though all things considered I wonder if 8 will even be first person. Just because it might be a good while until then. Especially if lets say the RE7 team are the same group doing RE2make and that's why it's taking so long.

It nailed the atmosphere, but as far as horror? Eh. I'm the kind of dude that can predict most jump scares and still end up jumping from surprise and it had plenty of them. I started getting mad at the later parts with
Evie
.

But a base is indeed there, but I don't think the perspective really matters. I have no interest in VR, so First Person didn't add much for me. It could have been in 3rd person and nothing would've changed, in my opinion, aside from the obvious.

Yeah by horror I meant the atmosphere as well. The actual scares I didn't find to be their either. Though that's not a big deal for me, since I never found the series scary outside of playing RE3 as a kid, not knowing when nemesis would pop out. Wish the baker stuff would have been handled a bit more like that.

Speaking of which, I was actually surprised how little they stalked you, at least, in my game.

Agreed. Would have loved a bit more, Especially in the beginning which was my favorite part of the whole game.

The beginning is certainly the best part. I think the back half could have been greatly improved if they implemented some there (and adapted the level design accordingly).

i decided to go back and continue my RE2 playthrough after finishing RE7 and i just made it to the weapons storage room on claire A. would claire benefit more from the side pack or the submachine gun? or should i just take both? i hear that leon already has a really good arsenal compared to claire anyway

I usually take the Sub on Route A while leaving the pack for Route B.
The sub is especially useful against the G-baby.

I always pick the side pack for Claire, regardless of whether it's A or B. It helps with carrying all grenade types with you at all times. Leon gets the submachine gun, because, well, he's gotta have something.

Man, I'm so fucking depressed.

I wish the CGI movie would come out sooner.

Found a copy of CVX for Gamecube at a decent price and stuck it into Dolphin. Having not gotten into the HD version on PS3 I'm finding it much more aesthetically pleasing in Dolphin, partly due to being able to force AA but also because it somehow looks much better. Undoubtably the HD version has much improved lighting and shadows, but it's a much darker game and the colours are significantly muted. The original version by comparison is much more colourful which I feel makes it more interesting to look at.

Also having a baby means I just don't have time to play around with ink ribbons (despite really liking that system) so being able to cheat and use save states to preserve sessions is a godsend.

Hey guys, RE4 question:

Should I be upgrading the Punisher and main that instead of the standard handgun? Should I sell one of these?

Don't upgrade the standard handgun, it's garbage.

You can update the Punisher for a bit until you can buy the Red9, buy that and the stock and you're golden for the rest of the game.

Ah, okay. I started off upgrading the standard, but I'll just sell it now and use Punisher until the Red9 comes along.

Is it just me, or is this PS4 version a bit easier than I remember it being on GC?

I hate that there are no options for sound/volume (turn the music down a bit for better ambience) and difficulty.

Edit: If I sell a weapon, does the ammo get emptied and remain in my inventory?
