Stargate SG-1 had an episode like it as well. It was pretty good, especially when O'neill started to lose it.

I seriously hope Trump doesn't do anything horrible today because if I'm going to live the same day over and over, I'd like it to be a little less stupid than it has been.

Can a show have a Groundhog Day episode where you need to fight nazis but orderly and peaceful discussions isn't cutting it so they have to find other ways to defeat them?

When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of Punxsutawney and basking in the warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter.

Funnily enough, I watched the film for the first time last night. Quite enjoyed it. My first Bill Murray film.

NANCY TAYLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR?!?!!?

“NANCY:” Oh, Phil.
“PHIL:” Oh, Rita.
“NANCY:” Who’s Rita? … What is this, some kind of one night stand?
“PHIL:” On the contrary. Nancy, I love you. I’ve ALWAYS loved you. This is gonna’ seem sudden, but .. Nancy will you be my wife?
“NANCY:” Oh, Phil.
“PHIL:” Rita.
“NANCY:” Nancy.
“PHIL:” Whatever.

GAF, what would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?

I want a dark version of the film where he becomes a crazed murderer, terrorist, rapist, sadist, etc. Just goes absolutely mental and further down the rabbit hole the longer he spends repeating the day, making more chaos day by day.

God bless all my old friends/And god bless me too, why pretend?
Real talk, would you be okay if this happened to you?

I think for the first couple hundred thousand years I'd be pretty happy.

In Spain the movie is officially called "Atrapado en el tiempo" (Trapped in time), but the majority of people still call the movie the name El Dia de la Marmota (The Groundhog Day). Strange fuck up by the translators that thought the new Spanish name for the movie would work better for marketing that translating the original English name as it is.

I saw this movie for the first time about three years ago.

I hated it. Hated the protagonist, hated how he got out of the loop, didn't find it funny or insightful or clever or even interesting. Just a frustrating bore.

But I live in a post Groundhog Day world so pop culture has been shaped by the film and will be for eons... blargh
