The one thing I hope comes of this disaster is China sees an opening to take a big lead in renewable energy industry and pushes it much harder than they would have.
Thats because they are "Intimately" aware of the effects of climate change and how polluting the air, earth and water is disastrous to them.
China has regular "HAZARDOUS AIR" pollution warnings because they ignored it during the 80's and 90's. And millions die each year that is attributed to the terrible environmental conditions.
They fucked up super hard and are FORCED to accept it or suffer.

The hands look a little too large.
You don't have to praise China to state it's not nearly as horrible as present day America. It's really not a difficult point to make. As has been mentioned, China not pretending climate change doesn't exist automatically makes it less of a global threat.
