i can't kill tachibana. I am level 40. This fight is shit. I'm going to quit him and come back when I'm 20 levels higher or something.

It's the Youngblood set.

Dang, that's a sword.
Also, is this in colorblind mode or is green the "final form" of weapons in Nioh? I thought purple was the highest a weapon could go.
Not sure how to convince you....
Its both buttons at same time, you wouldn't get extra ki if you change stances before the ki recovery bar begins to fill. Which can actually be beneficial, for example, if you want to flux from low - medium -high and then go back to low. You can save time by switching to high before ki regen, then fluxing to mid-low.
Yep. Be advised the droprate is worse than the worst Korean F2P MMO.
Its really stupid. There's no reason to have this shit droprates on a retail game.
Probably would enjoy it. Depends on what you didn't like about Dark Souls.Let's say I don't like Dark Souls but I like Bloodborne and Ninja Gaiden Black. What are my chances of enjoying this?

Green is the highest rarity level. You unlock the possibility of getting green drops near the end. Enticing you to play NG+
Absolutely for rare item drops.Does high luck help?
Forging appears to level sync the item you are making to your level.
Lifeseal is Ki to success in that fight
Hahaha.
Thanks for the warning!
Is there any other Smithing texts that you have to grind out like this? Or just any cool kinda secret smithing texts period? Im only in the 4th region right now, and Ive just been getting the ones that are in the quest descriptions.

my advice:
always start the fight with a headshot + final blow
always dash forward into him when trying to evade his Iai charge attack.
use the Ki reducing Onmyo talisman if you have it
use Spirit Stones to build your Amrita gauge so you can pop LW when you feel confident it will finish him off
Got a couple of questions if anyone can help.
1) I'm using kusarigama/dual blades. When I look at dual blade damage, is that the combined damage, or per blade (since most attacks are two hits)?
2) I got a lot of purple weapons from revenants (just finished the 1st region). Should I continue to break them for parts, or are they worth selling?

Almost all the named human NPCs you fight can drop smithing texts for their armor/weapons. Even the dojo masters you fight drop texts.
So what do people think about using guns and bows?
Cheapass tactic to circumvent level design.
Or anything goes.
I don't think I've ever been so torn on a game as I have this one. I've just reached the 4th mission and even though the level enemies are perfectly manageable and a blast to work through, the bosses are a metric fuck-tonne of the most mealy-mouthed, froth-inducing bullshit I have ever come across in a game.
I have worked through Souls, Salt & Sanctuary, Lords of the Fallen and Bloodborne and never I have been more sorely tempted to launch my controller through the screen than in this game.
I'm sorry Team Ninja, I just don't think I can rage my way through twenty or thirty more of the your rage-fuel bosses. From someone who has really tried to like your game, I'm sorry, the save file is getting deleted and I'm gonna trade you in against something else. I just cannot spend my evenings getting that wound up...
Ahhhhhh, ok thats cool. I guess I gotta stack up a lot of luck for a while! haha

It's like Ninja Gaiden combat and Bloodborne leveling system with better options and a Diablo loot system.
1) I'm pretty sure is the combined damage of both swords since most of the attacks are two hits
2) I'd say dismantle them and use the mats for forging new stuff, it's the best way later on to get nice gear. And anyway, you get far more money for selling the mats you get from dismantling a weapon than for the weapon itself

I feel where you're coming from and your rage with the bosses. Been there for sure and still get stuck on occasion. But the combat/game is too damn satisfying to play so I decided to push on and eventually conquered. It is an incredibly feeling when you overcome some damn boss you've been stuck on for 30+ mins.I don't think I've ever been so torn on a game as I have this one. Just picked up the game and I'm about to learn its controls and get comfortable with it.
Is there going to be a "penalty" to me picking Type E controls for the game (putting the attacks on R1 and R2 like Bloodborne/DS)? I understand there's a lot of synergy going on here and while this control type feels comfortable now, am I gonna run into problems or bending my hands around more when I get to more advanced techniques or more challenging areas?
I'm just wondering if there will be a pay off of sorts if I take the frustration and time to learn the game's default controls.

Before you delete your save, unlock Sloth in the Onmyo skill tree.
You're welcome.

Awesome, thanks for the help!
I know I've just started but it's funny how many great katanas I've come across with so few kusarigamas and dual blades. Any time I see a revenant with one of those purple, I froth at the mouth.
That player is doing 5 times the damage a typical player would be doing at this stage in the game. It's not a very useful strategy for anyone that doesn't want to cheese the boss and trivialise its difficulty.
If you pick a different control scheme you will be extremely limiting yourself. The skill ceiling for the game is extremely high in terms of what your hands needs to do.Just picked up the game and I'm about to learn its controls and get comfortable with it.

Is that thecentipede boss?
Knowing to block is pretty key.
For people on the fence I recommend the Easy Allies review, I thought it was great and covers a lot of stuff.
