Code Freak's new PS4 save game editor. Your PSN level just went down the shitter.

Bye-bye PS4 online gaming, I guess.

Imagine playing PvP in Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3 against someone who is such a low-life piece of shit that they have to use this.

Imagine being so scared of a thread on neogaf you stopped playing Bloodborne online.

Yep, because others' PS Level is the first issue that comes to mind seeing that. Not online cheating and such.
Save exiting shouldn't touch anything online. And this shouldn't even be able to cheese trophies as if it was written well you would have to actually perform the action rather than just looking at the save data

It's sad that people are so aggressive against these devices, cheats are lots of fun and lets you do stuff otherwise impossible.
Sure they break the multiplayer but who cares... they can ban those who use it online and let people have fun with the single player...

A lot of us do. I've seen whole communities infested by them.

Not one publisher is able to get their games clean, not even Blizzard or Valve and it's a serious problem which destroys any fun in multiplayer games if you have an asshole in your game who didn't get any love from his mommie.

Totally. Using it in multiplayer is obviously a dick move, but I love messing around in games with cheats. Who cares how others play their single player games? Let them have their fun. Some people really are too aggressive about this.

$80 to cheat?
Why
Have you met people who buy shitty games with easy Platinums specifically for easy Platinums?
Have you met people who pay hundreds of dollars for a "trophy professional" to login to their PSN account and plat games for them.

No, seriously. That's a thing. £350 and he'll plat Borderlands 2 for ya! At least the people using edited saves and poorly made easy plats (ie. Orc Slayer) actually play through the game.

If this was limited to offline play and didn't effect trophies I would be totally cool with it. There are some games that my nieces would love, but couldn't fully play yet. This would allow me to give them a little boost.

I hope and am confident Sony will lock this out. I get hate mail enough in Titanfall 2 that I can already see the messages I'll get when this comes out.

Save editing or "Platinum saves" have been a thing on PS3 for a good while now. There really wasn't away to cheat on multiplayer games by using them, though. I don't know if this will be any different, but I doubt it'll work any different from how PS3's save editor/resigners work.

Fucking hell. £500 for someone else to get you the Final Fantasy X platinum trophy. LOL.

Why are people worried about online? The ability to edit and resign saves means nothing for online play. This isn't running unsigned code on the PS4, it's PC software.

The PS3 had this and it didn't spell the demise of online gamming. What it does is ovewrite some details about campaigns. Like how much credits you have saved up.

It can't even be used for active real time cheats that were classic cheats like infinite lives or infinite ammo. It's this nature that also stops it from obtaining trophies most of the time. It really has no teeth and I regretted buying mine for PS3. The "cheats" are really lame and don't really affect much.

If its something that affects save games then online gaming is fine lol. I used to mod my saves in games on my 360 all the time, has no affect on online. That being said, I have not seen anything to suggest save modding was possible on PS4 yet, I thought they were all encrypted.

The PS3 version could do decryption.

How early in the PS3s cycle did it come out though? What I mean is, there isnt a single save modding tutorial for ps4 on the internet AFAIK, so it would be a pretty big thing if this was the first.

I didn't hear about it until pretty late in the life cycle.

Edit: Jesus Crist at the paranoia in this thread. Chill out people. This thing really won't work the way y'all think it does. Ponder on why it's called a "save editor" rather than a straight up "cheat code device"

Oh! this is made by the same people that made the Push Guard for the 3DS systems! Before I owned one I would often pull my 3DS out of my pocket and accidentally squeeze on and eject the game card, erasing current game status before I could save. 😡😢
It's why I think the Nintendo Switch has a built in cover/flap on the Game Card Slot, compared to the 3DS series.

Cyber sure does make quality products…
…though I'm nervous of the possibility of this PS4 thing being abused.

It would be nice if this allows bypassing the grind of unlocking weapons/perks/whatever most online games put you through. Not much of an online gamer myself, but I hate it when I do play online and then have to play some stupid number of games to unlock equipment.

I'd do it to eliminate grinding. Too much games, so little time...doesn't help when games have many time wasting components.

I'm interested in the product myself, but I don't want to burn a lot of money on a device that could potentially be made obsolete with a firmware update. It's tempting for certain games though...

Please God don't use this to ruin multiplayer. I'm guessing people in Call of Duty will begin flying and such in no time.

It's for cheating, period.
Probably trophies, too.

You can probably use it to:
- give yourself infinite HP/MP
- level up to Max Lv after killing only one enemy
- cheat horribly in PvP
- break online gaming
- etc.

It's definitely not a good thing.

Yup, things like this ruined Borderlands, Dark Souls and Diablo 3 multiplayer.

You can't do most of those things with a save editor...

Y'all are seriously overestimating what can be done with a save editor in online games. This isn't cheat engine or an old school Gameshark, which are/were memory editors. For the most part, it just allows you to change one number to another. No infinite anything, no multipliers, no no-clip, no aim bots, no speed hacks, ect. RPGs would be the games that would most benefit from a save editor.

Most online games keep any data that could possible be used for cheating server side to begin with so this is largely a non-issue for multi-player games. And for the handful of games that don't do that, maybe this will finally push them to do so as it's been the standard practice for a long while now.

That's not what a save editor does. This may lead to some overpowered characters in games where online characters are saved locally, but stuff like changing gravity isn't really possible.

I imagine this is only useful cheat wise for single player games. Since it requires you to edit a save file to quickly unlock things that otherwise take time to unlock, or max out levels in things like FF, but even then it will be limited to what the game can go up to anyway, you won't be running around at level 999999. I can't imagine this is going to somehow break the limits of the games and activate god mode in MP shooters etc. But it might let people unlock all guns and attatchments. But who cares about that. Devs charge for the same thing.

I wonder if this will work with an region games. I would be scared to buy this and it gets patched out by Sony. This would strictly be for grindy single player games. I don't mind sinking 80hrs into my RPG's but not another 20 just for a item or finishing filling up a bar to max out an affinity. Looking at you Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop 😑

I'd love to play around with ridiculous settings again like the old days for consoles (or PC gaming today really). But not at $80.

Maybe this is old news, but according to Wololo.net, this cheating program might require internet connection and sharing of PSN login information.

That sounds legit. The login info part is a dead giveaway.

they do if you have an endgame modified save. which crosses off all the check marks.
although anyone would know now because all your trophies would have the same picture of obtaining trophies lol
It's probably already been said but you can turn this feature off. Fortunately all your trophies would have the same date/time stamp on them.
