Guys, you can avatar quote me every time you want. I already was avatar quoted many times because i said the combat looked boring to me.

I find it funny though that enjoying Witcher 3 and its lenghty campaign means i couldn't enjoy a less long game.

I think Horizon's story won't be its best part, so while in Witcher 3 was mostly justified to have a long main quest in Horizon it would feel too stretched.

I don't think that its fair for you to say that it would feel stretched yet, since you still don't know how it plays out and how long it is.

We should wait before making that type of statements.

Those are my impressions based on what i have watched, those 30 minutes gameplay videos. I don't see this game to have the same kind of intricate story details and NPC interactions as in Witcher 3. It's more an action game than an RPG.

25 hours is perfect for me. Will play this baby after Nioh and before Deus Ex so i am okay with a more shorter game (story).
TW3 was way to long to keep my attention peeked all the time. Became a boring game half way imo.

Man just give it a try or not or wait for a sale. It's only $60(or less if you have a PrI'm or GCU membership). Sell it if you don't like it. I really don't understand why people have to be so reassured that they will like a game. Even great reviews doesn't guarantee that you will enjoy it.

One reason: because $60 is a lot of money for many people.

Because people are being asked to shell out a lot of money for a game. It's as simple as that; not everyone has the disposable income to unwittingly shit $60 away. Stop being so myopic.

25 Hours for main story is fine if that's true, I mean The Witcher 3's main story can be done in that kind of time, if you don't do anything else. So it seems a pretty comparable to other open world games, also these open world games have many distractions, side quests and other things to do, so the average playtime will probably be 35-40 hours easy, probably more if you take your time.

I really hope I'm not jinxing it but if all goes according to plan I shall be giving you all spoiler free impressions starting tomorrow.

I'd be happy with 25-30 hours for a solid main campaign playthrough. I'm currently about 10 hours in to a 35-40 hour length game in Nioh and Mass Effect isn't far off! I only have so much time!

accounting for how gorgeous the game is per the hardware my fear is that the 'world' is fairly small. but with ~20 hrs play time i guess that's alleviated (assuming you're not just backtracking, or all key locations are just really cramped)

Haha True. But at least this thread is still fine and not a shit show on GG and their game(s)..... yet
.

Heck no make the game as long as possible.

Unless you just do the main story and nothing else, most open world games feel longer anyway. I can't say I've ever played an open world game where I've just gone from story mission to story mission, start to end and finished in 20-30 hours.

Break up the main missions with side quests and exploring for collectables ect and like most open world games, it will feel a lot longer. I was well over 50 hours into Witcher 3 and still not near the end of the story, because I was taking my time and doing a lot of the side stuff too.

Keep the impressions coming... ;P ;)

Maybe those Mom and Pops stores(sp?) will really start selling them early this weekend.

Mom and Pop shops are a myth imo (ever since the one in my city stopped selling early.... :( )

They also have unwashed gamers inside. No actual moms OR pops to be found.

I manage to skip some post about 4chan but I thought this was supposed to be a spoiler free thread?

4chan "leak" has been said already to be fake. They're talking about that. Anyway be careful please, there's two threads and people can get confused (either opening the wrong one or posting on it).

Is this thread safe from spoilers? Have we gotten some impressions yet? I want some impressions but I'm scared to scroll through I saw a lot of spoiler bars.. :-(

Some GAF members either already have the game or might have it soon, but the thread kind of twisted into being another general Horizon discussion thread in the meantime

I look forward to spoiler free impressions. Still can't pull the trigger on this one with all the great stuff coming out Q1, but I'd like to get around to it later in the year if it's good.

This game is one of my most internal struggles on whether I would like it or not. A part of me, well majority says no. But I keep having a glimmer of hope. So I'm going to say this straight up. I'm all about story with cool action sequences in between. I don't care about exploring the world, crafting or whatever else.

Will this game allow me to enjoy it in that way. Or will it push stuff on me I don't want to do. Thank you if you're able to answer.
I'm with you on this. I might end up trading the game when "that open world boring feel" kicks in... I swore I wouldn't buy another OW title and here I am. :|
