Fuck me, this is insane. Looks like TF2, Rocket League, or Battlefront until For Honor unlocks...

Fuck, I hope For Honor works out better, as it's also Ubisoft...

I'm basically giving up on R6 till the PS4 servers are back to the state before these new operators dropped.

It has NEVER been this bad. Can't get in to servers, get in and get kicked out of game, new glitches I've never seen before, and the pings are total lies. I get peakers advantage, but holy hell the amount of Neo bullet lag going on is through the roof.

Hot mess for PS4. They need to take it down for 3-5 days, figure it out, then bring them back up.

There won't be anyone left playing before long if Ubi doesn't get their shit together. They're destroying any goodwill they may have earned over the past 14 months.

In America now so I won't be on until at least a week from now. Unbelievable that you guys still cant get proper games going.

I hope that Valentines Day skin isn't tied to Ubisoft Club challenges cause i tried to do the Foundation Day one a week ago and it wouldn't even register my matches.

It is.

Played a bunch of PS4 last night. Everything seemed okay. It's funny that ranked is in beta still. Reminds of Battlefield 4 having squad join in beta. It's like lol, joining as a party is a new feature right now?

It's so ridiculous. How do they not have a ranked mode in an online focused game worked out over one year after release? Just goes to show the sad state this game is in.

Love it though. Just make a sequel already.

They talked about making 50 operators. At their current pace, it's going to take a while to get there. So maybe they make a sequel that includes this game's operators or maybe they just keep iterating on this base. Ask yourself which you believe will happen.

Wow! I changed my sights from Holographic to Red Dot and I immediately noticed in the last match that I'm much better with Red Dot. I gave it another try in Terrorist Hunt and the difference is crazy.

I don't know anything about coding, but I wonder if the very core of the code for this game just isn't good enough for what they're aiming for/what they're doing, online has always had issues, and patch day has always been crazy. I know it's not a fair comparison but volvo and riot patch problems within hours of them being found. I don't play Overwatch on console but I imagine Blizzard treat that the same.

Is this a case of Ubisoft not investing enough cash into this project back when it was in the planning phase?

The PC version usually runs pretty well for me but console is a shit-show. Had four really fun placement matches solo queuing this morning. Some dude got the ace the first round, the first four kills in the second round, and at 5v1 someone snags the last kill denying him the double-ace attempt. If that had happened to me I would have seriously considered the team-kill. Sure it was ranked, but there are some things you just don't do!

Red Dot is probably the worst sight in the game but whatever works for you I guess.

RE: Toxicity chat. I play on PC and it's mostly been fine, but I have noticed an increase in assholes as the game has grown in popularity the past few months. I think that is to be expected. You can use the in-game report button to report people because Ubi gets a full log of that session when you do that. The teamkilling has never been an issue for me on PC and I've been playing since release. I think the reason you see that more on console is just the lack of one-life CS style games on console in recent history. It's been relegated to side modes and there hasn't really been a popular one like this in a long time. Kids who have grown up on the constant respawn games probably just get impatient at dying then having to wait a couple minutes for the next round and just teamkill so they can at least shoot at something.

Not anymore bro. They buffed the red dot on every weapon to look the same and it looks pretty okay now. However they did the same with the reflex by zooming it in but they didn't change the size of the triangle so it's huge now and objectively terrible. Holographic is the same (I think) and acog is the same too

I like the holographic the best. Tiny dot but the circle gives me a nice frame of reference. NATO reflex is garbage. Russian reflex is pretty good.

I've yet to play a single match since purchasing the game on PS4 that didn't have multiple people TKing, leaving, or trolling. The PS4 community is probably the single most loathesome collection of human garbage I've come across in an online multiplayer game, from a gameplay perspective. It's almost impressive.

I've only experienced those issues in about 5% of my matches. Oddly, ranked has had a higher percentage of quitters for me, but I heard that's because I'm in the garbage tier, and things improve at middle tier.

What I find to be problematic, though, is the daily or sometimes hourly server, matchmaking, and connection issues.

Haha, I've said the same stuff.

Makes the COD and TLOU online communities seem pedestrian.

My game keeps bugging out and keeps me at the drone screen the entire match... its happened 3 times now

Restarting client seems to have fixed it for now.

I don't know if I am just ignorant or lucky but I haven't too many problems with the community. I have been team killed less than 5 times my entire time playing and haven't had too many rude people. Ranked was definitely better but also can attract people who have higher expectations. Ranked fort me mainly had people wanting to work together or appreciated me having a mic to help.

But those few times when I did have those a holes were the worst I've ever had in a game aside from Rocket League. It hurts way more in this game because it stops your opportunity to actually play.

That's now the reflex site. With how they changed how sites are handled, that triangle is too big and you can't see if your bullets are going at the top of the triangle or middle or what.

I like the red dot for certain guns on defense.

If you are an attacker then acog is almost always the best choice for sights since it's so much easier to see defenders because they are often immobile. It's a bit worse when it comes to close range but it's not something you can't get used to and the overall benefits are higher than negatives.

This. I bought red dot for almost all operators and I regret it so much cause most gunfights are medium to long range and the red dot is useless for that.

Honestly, if you're not using ACOG where possible then you're at a disadvantage.

Hi Siege GAF,

I was thinking about getting into this game again but I wanted to see if I could get some insight from the GAF community first.

How do you recommend jumping into this game with people who have been playing since launch? Is the matchmaking okay or can I expect to get stomped for awhile.

I used to play Raven Shield nearly ever night back in the day and loved it. However, when Siege introduced the Operators/Heroes, I was a bit turned off and confused by it since I enjoyed selecting my load outs. Perhaps it's not has bad as I think, can someone tell me if having Operators is better or worse than building load outs?

Lastly, any "pro tips" that could help me out as I try jumping in again?

dave is ok

aztek is ok
What's better on Jackal, his rifle or SMG?

Rifle without a doubt, it's one of the best primaries in the game. High damage like Thermite's primary but much less recoil and fast reload.

That's why you use jackal. ACOG on the rifle and the shotgun side arm. That thing has little range but up close it will ruin someone's day. It's also great when you grab the hostage and get to blast some fools with it.

Also here's some various clips I've strung together including a very surprised Mira on the first day she came out I think.

I dont like equipping the shotgun because the ready time is a lot longer and the fire rate is very low. I tell myself I won't find myself in a situation where I have to use a secondary and feel like I'd rather have a shotgun instead of pistol.

You will get stomped for awhile. Perhaps, longer than awhile. Try to find folks on here to play with who are patient and can help you understand the game.

Learning the maps is probably the #1 best thing you can do for yourself. Understanding angles, flanks, what room is above/below what other room is extremely vital information.

The matchmaking in Casual is luck of the draw and varies wildly game to game. Best hope again is to find a group, play together, get up to level 20, then go into Ranked and pray that the system finds you people of similar skill.

If it tells you anything, their Ranked system is still marked as "Beta"

Aiming and shooting is only half of the game in Siege, probably less than half. Majority of the game is about knowing where the enemy is and traversing the map safely. The biggest tips is to play an easy operator that the team doesn't really rely on like Rook for offense and Buck for offense and then follow others until you learn the basics.

The biggest tip I'll give is to play in a squad of people who are better than you as much as possible...and talk to them while playing, it's the best way to improve. I spent close to 50-60 hours combined on PC/PS4 but I was still just a basic player because I wouldn't really think about strategies and all but rather just rely on my aiming skills. Until recently when I started playing with some of my old mates on Xbox and I immediately noticed massive improvements because they would all try advanced tactics and mind games and I played placement matches and got placed at Gold 1 which is as high as you can get via placement from what I can remember and needed one win to get to Platinum.

Been playing for 26 hours and still getting stomped. I'm stuck at Silver I and Gold IV at this moment.
But it's fun, in a way. I like a challenge.

Shit I wish I was at silver. I'm stuck at bronze due to trolls who team kill or afk the whole round

Well the beginning of the night started off with TKers but the end of the night it mellowed out. I was killed several times for no real reason at all. People being assholes.

Mira is basically unplayable at the moment with everyone knowing they can bash the window out. People just keep exploiting the glitch. She's almost a hazard on the team at the moment.
