I've heard some horror stories.

Thankfully , I'm still with the first women I met on OKC, 3 years later. Found her 3 months in and she pursued me .

Fuck online dating, it's full of fake profiles and people who aren't even on it to get dates. Fuck everything about online dating.

This is as dumb as saying all gamers are losers. Guess what you'll find online dating? People. They're all different. Some will be ok with gaming as a hobby, some won't.

Personally where I'm at in my life I don't get many 8 hour gaming sessions. But I did for years and years. Nothing really wrong with it if you have the time and are handling your business otherwise.

But yea, sometimes relationships require compromise. One of them might be not gaming for 8 hours a day, lol. Or only doing so when she's busy.

I met my wife via online dating. Been together nearly 8 years. Married with a kid. I personally wouldn't date or marry someone that shits on gaming as a hobby. I can play within reason but I'm gonna throw down sometimes.

Why does OP think people who play games that long are losers?

I took it as OP saying "Online dating is hard because people have views like [insert pic here]"

Kinda want to know as well. It's an oddly specific question for an online dating app or the OP to ask.

It's OKCupid. There's a ton of questions you can choose to answer, and other people can see your answers. It also factors into compatibility ratings.

Most women I saw on there did seem to answer negatively about any videogame questions.

OkCupid has a variety of questions that fit into different categories that you answer to build your profile and is used to gauge how good of a match someone is based on their answer. The questions are also weighed person answer for how important it is which affects the "match %" as well.

Yeah, I've pretty much given up entirely. I just don't have it in me.

OkCupid has a bunch of questions that you can answer. You also say what answers you'll accept from the other person. Using the questions that you've both answered, they build a compatibility percentage.

Both responses are red because they both chose an answer that the other person wouldn't accept.

I'm sure she has many varied and interesting hobbies that she chooses to invest her time in.
jk she sounds like the kind of girl that has no hobbies besides watching tv.
You're better off not wasting your time on judgmental losers anyways.

have you tried getting drunk at a new years eve party and chatting up the hottest blonde girl you can find?

thats how i met my wife but ymmv

I agree that online dating is hard, but that picture is a great example of online dating being easy. Girl is a jerk who is not worth your time. Boom, saved you the trouble of finding out the slow way.

This. Like guys that post "No fat chicks!" on their profile. Saves you time knowing who's a jerk and who's not.

That person isn't worth answering the question for. You'll find someone who respects your particular expensive hobby.
lol I'm sure she gets a lot of suitors with that attitude

I find people who obsessively play games for hours on end tend to be in the meme culture and thus sort of obnoxious. Like, I'm not gonna fault a woman for avoiding the gamer culture.

Dating is hard in general.

That said, when someone like me has had better luck meeting people IRL than online, that says a lot about how bad online dating is.

On OkCupid there are a bunch of questions that you can answer.

When you view someones profile you can view their answers to these questions, but only if you have answered the question as well.

When you answer these questions (You're given multiple choices), you indicate which of the answers you would want your ideal match to have (you can select all of them if you don't really care too much). As part of their matching algorithm you can also choose how important it is that your match responded favorably to what you selected.

In this case, the OP chose "yes", the match chose "People that do that are losers"... they both said that each other's answers were unacceptable.

Anyways, OP, outing yourself as a huge gamer can be a red flag to a lot of people. It's okay to kind of mention it in your profile but don't be like "omg yeah I'm a huge nerd!"... girls will flee from your profile.

Agreed but there's less obnoxious ways of going about it. The key to everything is moderation. I've known a few dudes lose their GF to MMO addiction for example.

Welp im a loser too T_T
I honestly don't blame her for being like that, the gamer culture can be pretty intimidating as I'm constantly reminded by my sister XD

I never have problems in the beginning phases.

But so many dates I get online end up like this for some reason.

Me: Hey, nice meeting you yesterday.
Her: (5 minutes later) Yes it was so much fun! We definitely have to do it again sometime ;)

Next week
Me: Let's get together this Friday if you have time :)
Her: (2 days later) SO SORRY BUSY FOREVER :(

It's a mindfuck. I seriously barely dated anyone for five months after the last time it happened to me. I had a great date earlier this week and I think it's happening again (don't wanna jump to conclusions since she just started a new job but given past experiences... :( )
