Lmaoooo what a league.

I guess laying down on the ice and not coming back for the rest of the game isn't an injury.

It's kind of amazing how blatantly fucking awful the DoPS is and how nothing changes ever with it. Bettman is the real thing that drags this league down, not symptomatic shitty attendance for medicore/bad teams. The most you can hope for with this league is that your team manages to at least be decent year after year because everything else surrounding the league is a total trash fire, and all of it lands on Bettman's doorstep. Try being a fan of a shit team in this league that also doesn't have to a real history to grasp onto and then get back to me about fanbase loyalty being a major problem when around every fucking turn the league is out to keep the marketable/successful teams marketable/successful above all else.

Montreal big in the Netherlands?

The Jets ran out Kane (ok he did some damage himself too and likely is on his way out of Buffalo as well). Isn't Winnipeg the most racist larger city in Canada?

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.

Since we traded Dutch Gretzky to the Habs, Montreal is the Netherland's team

Probably.

Edmonton and Calgary would be up there with Winnipeg I would think

Didn't Edmonton have Anson Carter and Mike Grier on their team though? And they didn't seem to want to escape from the cold confines of Edmonton at all costs. I'll give Edmonton a pass.

Calgary had Iginla, Fuhr, and Brathwaite (sp?). They get a pass too. Winnipeg wins the most racist team in the NHL. At least in Canada.

That's the stupidest line of fucking reasoning that I've ever heard. Judging a franchise's "racism" based on minority players? Get fucked.

Kane was traded because he's a piece of shit human being and was more trouble than he was worth. Not at all because he was black. Did you forget that Byfuglien is almost universally loved here in this city, because he's actually worth keeping and not a magnet for drama and bad publicity? Not like we've had other minority players here in the city before like Pokey Reddick, Ray Neufeld, Jason Doig... But yeah, that sure determines a team's "racism."

Nevermind that Astroturfing's comment about the Blackhawks was the logo, not anything to do with the players themselves.

Get the fuck out of here with that racism bullshit.

I'm just messing around. Heck I could say that with my logic the Red Wings are the most racist franchise ever. Can't remember any player that spent at least a short duration with the team who was not white.

Never heard of him. Of course I've only seen about 3 Oilers games this season. What's holding him back at the moment?
He was with the Oilers in January but got minimal ice time. Big guy with decent hands from what I saw. Oilers deep on LW so it would be better if he was RW.

I was hesitant to watch Lion, how is it

Very good, but a bit slow in parts.

My attempt at a vague and brief description of how the movie progresses. No actual spoilers (though...I mean, the story is out there lol), but I figured I'd be careful:

It may appear as the type of movie that jumps back and forth from past to "present day" as to how it deals with its narrative based on the trailers, but that's not the case and it makes you sit through Saroo's entire story in chronological order. While it is really slow, the payoff is well worth it.

Who was it who was shitting on him?? I assumed astroturfing for some reason but maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway they must be very upset about this news.

Yeah it was astroturfing when Zadorov legally murdered half of the Jets one night. You know, unlike Trouba's dirty hit on Stone, or Tyler Myers garbage head shot on Duchene earlier in the season.

Laich's a good dude, so I'm inclined to say that I wish him the absolute best, but at this point, I'm curious if anyone actually wants him at the NHL level.

Yeah if he could go somewhere and be given a chance I'd say give him away literally for free if that's what it takes, he deserves it. Unfortunately I just don't think he can keep up with the speed of the NHL anymore.

Laich has been putting up about 0.3 PPG in the AHL this season and his caphit is also 4.5M until it ends in July, tho if the Leafs wanted to they could retain up to half of that in a trade.

It's not a bold statement but I will say that he won't be going anywhere, and he'll retire before next season

Edit: This actually reminds me a bit of the Olli Jokinen situation 2 years ago, I don't know how leafs management got a team to take him on but they did.

The Blues also wanted to get rid of Lindstrom. Now that I think of it, I have no idea what happened to him.
