COMICS!!! |OT| February 2017 All You Need is Love (and Rockets)

damn these look crazy

definitely gonna pick up manowar and divinity, maybe the valiant

any other recommendations?

oh fack, it looks like some of those were errors and they've corrected them. There are still good deals to be had, though.

I recommend Divinity I+II, The Valiant, Harbinger, Archer & Armstrong, Rai, Quantum & Woody, XO Manowar, and Unity. The deluxes of all those are very well-priced and give a lot of content.

honestly I have no idea the difference between deluxes and regular volumes

included one shots and stuff like that?

The deluxes collect somewhere between 10-15 issues, depending on the series. It's more economical than buying the individual volumes towards the bottom of the page.

Some artists are just such perfect fits for some books. I hit some parts of Shang-Chi Master of Kung Fu where some artists were filling in for Gulacy and the difference was very noticeable, even if they tried to imitate the style.

Also finished an arc called Snowbuster right after the fill-in issues and it was amazing! Glad they are expanding out of the constant daddy issues arcs with Fu Manchu. It was getting a bit samey.

Oh cool we're talking ROM in here. Is the new series good? I'm sorta interested in giving it a shot as long as it doesn't go the way of Action Man and Micronauts.

That's always a bummer.

I'm actually really bummed. I backed out to the note section to add two words to the character stuff and it sold out. I had done that 4-5 times while I was transferring money to my spending account. Would be the time that I actually go to buy it sells out. Oh well :(

Fucking sucks. She never takes commissions.

Sun Bakery

I was interested in this from being a fan of Manga before I was really interested in Comics. That being said I thought this was a piece of shit. One story is damn near lawsuit level of fan fiction and the other stories just seem like straight up surface level chick list attempts at shonen manga.

Book really ended up bothering me with how much I was going in interested knowing nothing of the creator before this.

Old Guard

I really liked this but felt like it didn't provide a very good hook. I got to the end and was a little surprised at the "twist" just because I thought it was so obvious that it'd be hilarious to be the twist.

Would like to Tom King's Vision and Omega Men.

Just want to clarify: is his run of Vision just Volume 1 and Volume 2? Nothing other than those two? Want to make sure I pick everything up before I start reading.

Similarly is Omega Men just the one volume?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, Omega Men is one volume, The Vision is two. Though they just announced "Director's Cut Editions" that may be collected at a later date.

Please be excited. We'll soon know what Fury whispered to Odinson.

“I always said we'd eventually find out just exactly what Nick Fury whispered to Thor Odinson that made him unworthy,” Aaron says. “The words have been scribbled in my trusty Thor notebook for years now. Words that speak to the overall story I've been telling with this character going back to Thor: God of Thunder #1. The next phase of that story begins now.”

“I remember when Jason told me what it was that Nick Fury whispered, it just felt so satisfying – like, it’s definitely a big curveball, but it feels so organic to Jason’s overall larger Thor story – it feels earned,” adds editor Wil Moss. “If you’re looking for some insight into who Thor Odinson is as a character and if you’re looking for a sense of where Jason is going to take things from here (both with Odinson and with Jane – and with all Ten Realms!), then brace yourself, ‘cause this secret hits harder than Mjolnir.”

It's gonna be something dumb. Would be better to leave it to the imagination.
This is too important to the character for that.
With it being this long, I kind of agree. It going this long without being answered automatically makes me think they didn't have something in mind when it happened.
I'm sure Aaron has had it planned out, but was saving it for the story of Thor's "redemption".
Yeah, should've been revealed when Jane's post-SW book started.
I don't think that would have worked with how the book started off.
