The Gundam |OT2| Another 5 years of Gunpla, Origins, and GUNDAMUUUU!

Really cannot stand the legs and colors. Looks like two mechs grafted together in the worst way possible. The rest is alright.

Base Vidar is king.

Pretty much agree. The top and bottom don't really match, and this is on top of removing almost everything that made Vidar look slick as hell, like the leg blades and knee thrusters, and then replacing the rapiers with a katana.

Here's my almost complete RG Red Frame. It's my first build so it's got a lot of mistakes like scuff marks and crooked stickers, hahaha. It's been really fun though. I just need to finish off the weapons and shield now.

RG red frame kit looks good, i might have to get one =)

yeah, those tiny RG decals are tough to put on.

Providence Premium Edition boxart.

Between this generic action pose and the menacing final boss pose on the regular, I prefer the regular.

Edit: P-Bandai RG 00 Qan[T] Full Saber. Meh. Where's my P-Bandai Universe Booster/Star Build Strike part set, Bandai? The RG Build Strike was obviously designed with it in mind (easily removable leg armor, unused holes on the shield).

Speaking of my RG Build Strike, I've only got the Build Booster left to finish.

That Providence looks cool. Don't want it cause I'm too lazy to build all those funnels lol.

Also the RG Quan T reminded me... even as the biggest Gundam 00 fanboy here, I own exactly zero 00 items haha. Will have to change that 'eventually'

I hate the Providence for being such a waste of a cool idea. The backpack and weapons look great, but the main body and color scheme don't work for me.

The Red Frame looks pretty badass with all the detail throughout the body. It looks especially cool posing with the Gerbera Straight sword. I hope all RG's look this good.

Yeah they were! I'm glad they included extras for a really small one. I needed 2 but they included 6 and I used them all because I kept messing the sticker itself up.

nice! alot more gunpla posts these days =)

I want to post more in the FB group I'm in, but I'm still too intimidated because of how professional some of the the builds look. This feels way more casual, so I'm more inclined to post here. That and posting updates doesn't spam everyone, which bugs me especially since any updates I do aren't too significant sometimes.

free to post here, also don't be afraid to post on your FB group and ask for feedback. i do it all the time.

I ordered my first Gundam model kit. Pretty stoked.

I never realized how affordable they can be, amazon has a lot of them on sale right now.

I should be getting mine tomorrow, I got this one. Looking forward to putting it together.
oh the quan! definitely update us when you build it.

Mobile Suit Gundam The 08th MS Team Episode 1 (engdub)

Shiro Amada is a great lead, otherwise alight start, though it felt so much like that one Seed episode with Cagalli and Athrun in the island except with a bit more exploration and survival since space has different challenges than a lush island in in the ocean. Some akward moments with their random stare offs, was there more feelings going on or something especially during the bandage her arm scene and also the scene when they are trying to decide if he should go with here... Didnt realize this takes place during? First gundam, since it seemed the clip of Garma funeral speech was there.

Alright.

I agree, the RG Universal Booster needs to come.

There's a bigger and more important upgrade set that is much longer in the waiting, though.

Where are my MG V2 AB Parts, Bandai? I don't care if they're Premium only, just let me have them and finish one of my favorite mech designs on the planet.

Very nice! The lines look really clean. Did you use a wash? I want to eventually get a Nu Gundam as well.

Thanks. Nope, I just went over it with a cotton swab or rubbed over it with my thumb after I used the marker. The Nu Gundam is worth it, It's my favourite I've built.

I'm about halfway through my V2 that I have been putting off for forever so if there were ever a time to announce Assault/Buster parts it would be now.

So finally finished Zeta Gundam! About to start ZZ but I hear it's kinda shitty is this true? If so I'll just skip to Char's Counterattack.

I think ZZ is far better then Zeta.

It is different though and if you only want more Gundam in the vain of Zeta then the first 20 episodes you will hate.

To me ZZ is the best UC Gundam has to offer aside from Incorn it self.

Ah I see. I'm going to give panel lining a try on my next kit. Nice to see that marker can do a clean job like that :D

I actually just finished Zeta Gundam with my Dad. Overall he just couldn't get into it. He felt the overarching story was interesting, but execution often hampered his enjoyment, and the teen angst more often than not came off as unintentionally comical
How many times does Katz continue to steal the G-Defensor without anyone saying "you know, maybe he shouldn't be a pilot?"

We just started ZZ and while it's more squarely aimed at children, and intentionally comical he seems to be having more fun with it. It's just difficult for him to reconcile Zeta or ZZ with what he feels were the better executed Gundams he's seen prior.
I don't actually know though how much he thinks the Original Movie Trilogy was better than Zeta or ZZ. His favorite is still Origin by far.

My side cutters have grown too dull to use and are causing major stress marks on my parts. So for now I am unable to continue assembling my new kits.

Finished my first gundam!

I will post pics tomorrow but wow was that rewarding yet tougher than I thought. It would help if I get the right tools so that is something I am going to do before I build another one.

I do have a question... what is best for the stickers? They are so small and my sticker sheet got all fucked up, any tips in this regard would be awesome!

Nice, you joined the "built my first gunpla" club! I've seen gunpla builders on Youtube use the tip of their hobby knives to remove the sticker from the sheet and place it on the part, then use a Q-Tip to make sure it's secure. Personally I bent the tip of my knife and didn't want to just replace it so I used a set of small tweezers. Lift off the sticker via a tiny corner so it's just barely on the tweezers and place it.

Depends on the stickers! You bought an RG though, so you should have an easier set to work with. I haven't built the RG QanT, but I'm gonna assume it has a few chrome stickers (probably for the eyes and not much else) and a boatload of sticky, transparent ones with tons of warning labels and designations (this is the sheet with green backing).

The sticky ones are easy to work with and entirely optional as they only add to the design to create a distinctive look. The adhesive on the back of them allows you to pick them up easily with tweezers and reposition them until you're satisfied. and the risk of damaging them is pretty low. If your sheet's damaged, no real damage done. Just apply what you want using the guide on the back of the booklet and be done.

The chrome ones are trickier. Thankfully there are few on RGs, but these stickers are delicate to handle without damaging the surface - When they're bent too far, permanent creases and marks are left on the surface. You generally need to get these right the first time you put them on. I used to dread Gundam eyes as a novice builder too because if you don't put the sticker on just right, the face becomes assymetrical and looks all funky and then I'd have to carefully peel off the sticker to try again (and pray I don't lose it because the adhesive ain't the greatest).

Dry transfers are better and waterslides ideal but you've gotta special order that shit on most Bandai kits.

Watching Victory Gundam again... I'd probably put it above Zeta.

Don't get me wrong. Zeta is a fantastic series. But on an episode to episode basis, Victory beats it out.

Both are on the upper spectrum of gubdam shows.

Next Metal Build is apparently Astray Red Frame Kai.

How Wing Zero EW neo bird mode actually looks:

Test images for MG ZZ ver. Ka (that's the RE/100 Bawoo it's next to). More info March 24:
Holy shit that Wing Zero bird mode looks so fucking stupid.

This is the first time Glory has been nothing but a down grade in terms of quality compared to Wing and EW in my eyes.
