I really enjoyed this movie.
Don't read spoilers and ruin it for yourself. Go see it and experience one of the best movies this year.

Ah fuck dude, thats kind of a huge spoiler. I hope nobody who hasn't seen the movie yet reads it.

The acting, while nothing mind blowing, was so solid from everyone involved that the tension in each scene carried forward very well.

I thought the pacing hit a bit of a snag in the middle act, but good lord does the film recover well.

I'm going to ask a really, really, really stupid question.

The audiences at the theater for this movie...everyone's going to see this, right?

I had to drive 15 minutes to another theater because the last showing last night was sold out.

Movie was fantastic. SMART characters making smart decisions and when they do something stupid, you completely understand why. It's a movie where you don't have to scream at the screen because the characters are already saying and doing exactly what you're thinking.

Don't fall to the temptation and read spoilers. Go see it blind and experience one of the best movies this year.

The beautiful shiny spoiler!

The jolly candy-like spoiler!

Will they hold out, folks? Can they hold out?

It's very good.

I love how this film is out when usually, we get dreck like The Boy, The Forest, Rings, Unborn

I do think Lil Rel Howery stole the show and Stephen Root does have one of the best moments.

Everything else is spoilery so I'll save that for the Spoilers

You're thinking of January. Thats when studios dump all their horror movies which didn't make October and they know won't be great.

this movie was good though. Me and my GF saw it and she loved it, made her laugh a lot too. In the spoiler thread i'll explain why.

Running joke between me and her, I have only met her small town family once and never wanted to go back. She asked me after the movie if that's why. LOL yes she's white and im black, which made it hilarious.

Did Armond White get ejected from Rottenwatch for troling and clickbait?

I believe so; I remember it was heavily being pushed for around Toy Story 3, where even prior to its release everyone was worried he would be the lone dissenter to knock it down a few % points.

I actually thought he faded into obscurity but apparently he is still writing reviews

The quiet depravity conveyed by the Allison Williams eating dry fruit loops and drinking a glass of milk separately while she is browsing NCAA prospects is extremely good to me

this movie had a lot of touches that i enjoyed

He's writing reviews for the National Review. I enjoy reading what he has to say from time to time

Yeah that scene was a stand out. It told so much about her character

I feel like
there's an analogy for something in there somewhere.

Gonna have to see this. But i hope it's not a "MESSAAAAAAAAAGE" type film that spoonfeeds you a point of view, cause i hate that.

Saw this last night with my dad and brother-in-law. My brother-in-law is from Peru and he said this movie really reminded him of
the feeling of dread he had when he first came to America with my sister to meet my parents.

The audience was really into it, which made things that much more thrilling (
I also had an audience that erupted in applause when the girlfriend got shot
). I thought it struck an awesome balance of comedic elements, pitch-perfect horror, and cutting satire. The pacing was excellent throughout and the performances worked on pretty much every level. I am really picky about movies, and honestly I can't find anything bad to say about this film. It's no wonder it's gotten the reception it has so far.

It's a really well constructed thriller that happens to have a unique perspective and something to say. It doesn't force any of that down your throat though and can be enjoyed on its surface-level merits if you so desire.

Oh I just remembered that there was an interacial couple sat near me when I watched this film. I can't even imagine what they must have been thinking as the movie unfolded.

If you have the option, see this in a black theater.

Better experience by a mile.
I was gonna see it at the new Alamo drafthouse but you make a good point but seating reservation:/

Holy shit I just checked the price at Black theater, nah they bugging $20. When I can go to the AD for $15 and have rules against cell phone use.

Honestly,
It was easily the most powerful moment of the movie when the TSA car pulled up and the entire theater had the same exact thing in mind with thinking that it was going to be a cop who would shoot him. When it was revealed to be his friend, one guy threw his arms up and almost everyone gave a collective sigh of relief. Its unreal how telling that moment was of our culture's concepts of race and police are.

My theater started clapping like crazy at that moment. The most I have ever seen since the Hulk/Loki scene in the Avengers.

I really wish I never the saw the trailer for this. Kind of took a lot away from it.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Man, saw the movie today with the wife. Holy shit we both enjoyed the hell out of the movie.

Our theater was engaged as well,
the TSA rescue at the end got a lot of laughs and even some claps. As for the movie, I kinda had a hunch about the daughter being in on it but the execution was good. The whole small door being left open and the photo album being right there was too convenient.

Can we assume it was possibly the maid/grandma having some flashes of her older self and leaving those things there for Chris to find ?

If you think about it, its probably rather likely that's how some
modern slavery/trafficking rings are run on the darkweb, just a gallery of victims. Her Binging is played for laughs but also pretty dark.

Without spoilers, can someone answer if this movie is actual horror or if it is something like Tucker and Dale vs Evil? It just seems weird to me that Peele would do a horror film haha.

Any gore in this? If so, what is it comparable to?

Probably gonna see it tonight with a new girl and I'm not sure what her tolerance is. Haven't started her education yet, so I don't want to her to be traumatized.

No spoilers, please.
