I think it should be noted in the topic title of all review threads if Armond White liked the movie.
Yeah, I thought it was just okay. That RT score got me in the theater, so maybe I just set my expectations too high.
It was definitely fun though.

Scary part is, it isn't just Andre. They'd been successful in kidnapping quite a few niggas before Chris killed them all. Andre/Logan was just the only one to show up at the party. I don't know what Chris can really do. He has no way of knowing who or where all these folk are, and he's already gonna be in danger from any of the people that may wanna shut him up before he can squeal. They're gonna realize what happened when it's discovered the Armitages are dead, after all.

I agree with that in most cases, but it works to the advantage of some films.

This is definitely one of those films. People weren't being disruptive but their outbursts felt genuine and earned.
Awesome theater experience.

Yup. Same here in Ottawa, haha.
Same for my theater experience. No one was being disruptive, it was just a good audience reacting during the right moments and enjoying the movie in an appreciative way.

It's possible they didn't realize it was White. Their top critics aren't really connected to the critics, but to the outlet.

Agreed. I'm in Buffalo NY and had a 50% white 50% POC audience and it was great. Perfect amount of audience interaction.
I'm more surprised that Armond White is still reviewing movies!!!

I think there's no saving him. My understanding is once the procedure is done, most of your brain is removed so just a bit of you is left in "the sunken place" That's why the dude with the grandpa in him killed himself. There's no coming back from it. "

But overall good movie but the reviews really made me expect some grand twist. I was able to decipher most of the plot. Deserving of the acclaim but temper expectations. Now to find the spoiler thread.

I agree with the first part of your statement, though to the latter, this definitely isn't one of those times.

About White having interesting opinions? I would classify them more as controversial.
He likened the lead actor to Sambo because he has dark skin and was scared in the movie. There's nothing interesting about what he says.

White is relentless when it comes to race, especially when it comes from the political background of Peele. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with him here, haven't even seen the movie but it's good we have someone who can still write something like:
