March Wrasslin' |OT| The March to Wrestlemania XXXIII!

Show should be better than last year. Maybe that's not saying much but I'll be watching at the end of the day.

lol yeah being better than WrestleMania 32 isn't that hard.

But man, I really think Goldberg/Brock could somehow find a way to be worse than HHH/Roman. There's no way they're ending WrestleMania with another Goldberg squash match

I don't get the mentality complaining about something before a show happens.

It happened at Wrestlemania 31, everyone fucking bitched and moaned about the build up, about the card and then after the fact those same people admitted it wasn't so bad afterall.

I get it that it is all frustrating and that things are not booked optimally but that isn't WWE's speciality but let them present you the show then decide whether it was justified to hate it. Or just don't watch, but expecting things to suddenly be perfect when the WWE have never shown the ability to be perfect is maddening.

Owens vs Jericho can be excellent regardless of card placement. It has had more build than any other match on the card by a long mile so instead of complaining that a fake belt is on the line let WWE conclude the story and then decide how much of your hate it deserves.

Or be angry all the time. You decide.
If the build up and card is bad leading up to the show then people have the right to shit on just because WM 31 turn out well doesn't mean this one will to.

I think SD is a better show than Raw, or is at least more consistently watchable.

But I will also say Raw now shits from great heights over even as recent as say 2014. With the big authority and Rollins angles. 20 minute HHH promos opening every show etc. It was fucking atrociously shit back then and is far better now. Despite what a lot of us consider to be dumb shit.

There are still a lot of unhappy making things and whatnot, but it is a lot better.

Saying that I am a lot happier with other promotions I follow and going to local shows etc.

Because a decent amount of the time, they're right.

Mania 31 also really wasn't that good of a show.

Then just don't watch...

I'll give you an example I stopped watching WWE for basically a year and a bit after the raw after Mania 28. Literally the last thing I saw was Lesnar return and F5 Cena in an A+ segment....

Why? Because I was losing interest at the time anyway and even though that moment was hot abd everything I wanted I figured it was downhill from there (and it was Lesnar lost to Cena for no real good reason at the next PPV and Lesnar would then feud with HHH till literally the next Mania...meh) so I just didn't watch. I didn't predict it was going to be shit and then watch to feel smug about how right I was about it being shit, I didn't go on podcasts and message boards and brag about how awful everything is and do so week in and week out, I simply just didn't watch.

Lol omg.

Takahashi literally just groped his valet it was something else to watch lol

It is his gimmick:

But this has been one of the better builds for Mania in ages.... At least in terms of planned out long term booking.

Bray/Orton been built since September
Owens/Jericho been built since Summer with threads since like what May?
Lesnar/Goldberg since Survivor Series
The Raw women since the brand split/Bayley's call up basically
Reigns/Taker started at the Rumble
Even Shane/AJ has good logic behind it
Ambrose/Corbin since Elimination Chamber

Like it's not like they haven't basically said look here's where we're going, everyone has had plenty of time to stay on board or get off, this is not a Mania 25 where you're strung along for months and months with no build to Mania until a month or so before. This is all been long term stories that fans have been given plenty of time to get into or tap out.

I don't think people feel smug when they predict a show is bad. I believe most just want it to be good.

Poking fun saying "I told you so" is not that big of a deal. It doesn't feel like someone trying to feel superior, at least to me.

I'm disappointed we're not getting Braun vs Taker.

Also, I get that it's Taker and he's the current God of wrestling, but why was Braun a bitch last night?

The Braun Strowman I know wouldn't have shit his pants and run to the back to check.

They at least did a decent job of Taker calling out Reigns, though I'm still not sold on that being a Mania match.

Personally I think there are just as many people who do it just because they don't want to be left out of the conversation. If other promotions got a day in day out discussion then there would be less hate-watching.

It depends if you think those builds are good cause for me there like one build I have any interest of seeing. And the AJ and Shane has no logic behind it at all. The Bayley has been booked so poorly.

It arrived, WrassleGAF :D

Played a wee bit of it before my brother gets in and I surprise him with it. Obviously far too early to make any bold claims about, but there is something about it.

Oh, and in addition to the cartridges tasting bad apparently (I didn't try because I'm not an idiot), they are also rather small. Seems weird that there's this huge game on them.

EDIT: Oh, for those that will know, are there any big wrasslin' events in Japan (specifically Tokyo) in June? Potentially going there at some point of that month.

I think so too. At least for me. I just want it to be actually good, because it is so good when it is good.

I intentionally made my words vague so that more people could watch the match and see for themselves (and so that I don't outright spoil the ending for anyone who's never watched the match)!

RBH marketing 101!

But for real though guys, watch that match for some great tag-team wrestling and a hot crowd to boot.

Spoiler it, you son of a gun! I ain't got time to go back right now!

I'm getting Nier Automata today.....the almost 7 year wait is nearly over.

The nature and structure of WWE programming intentionally encourages constant discussion like this: it's random, frustrating, constant and accessible. The talking points remain the same, making posting a rote, reactionary and reflexive task.

The endless feed of content means these talking points are constantly refreshed (I'm sure you don't need me to list them). Most people have a personal history with the company, mostly rooted in the AE so there is always a connection, a spark to say something about the product.

Then when they do something right, it energizes the average hatewatcher enough to knuckle down and continue watching for another however many months. Sometimes the gap between those moments is too long and they drop off.

This isn't possible with other feds - the only company that runs half as regularly with anything approaching the same production standard of WWE is Japanese, which is a massive style and language barrier. There is no effective competition, meaning WWE will always dominate discussion then, now and forever.

I dunno, I'd feel like less of an idiot wearing something with an American flag over a British one. I see t-shirts with American flag motiffs all the time and they look fine.

Well, the way I see it, if you wear the flag, it's because you are proud of the country or is related to it somehow. Don't get me wrong, it is tacky either way, but when you are related to the country it is at least comprehensible.

It might be just me though.

Then why do you want to watch it? That's my point all of these have been long term bookings, it's not like they are stringing you along with an unclear Mania card...

Shane/AJ has a ton of logic , he feels Cena and Smackdown disrespected him when he was Champ going into the Rumble (Cena on the today Show and Smackdown by how small his head was on the Rumble Poster), he was then denied his one on one rematch after the Rumble, Cena was initially just given his rematch (same way Cena was just given his title shot at the Rumble against AJ) on the Smackdown after EC and AJ was only put in because he demanded it, after that he still didn't get his one on one shot. Then the stuff with Orton happens and AJ has to go through the Battle Royal hoop, all while he's been asking Bryan for answers as to why he's not getting his promised one on one rematch and all Bryan can say is it's not in my power (aka it's all Shane's doing). Then after the fuck finish he's forced into a match with Luke (instead of just continuing the match at that moment like he'd have preferred) he wins but Shane forces the restart, AJ wins again but then Orton says fuck it I want my title shot after all and now AJ has to fight Orton to retain his title shot that he's rightfully earned and of course he won't and he'll be rightfully pissed at Shane for putting him through a freaking circus only to have nothing to show for it, and he'll be 100% justified because he's done everything they've asked of him.

Look I still wish they were doing something else with AJ but there is a good story build for this match with Shane.

Wasn't going to bother with Mass Effect until I could pick it out of the bargain bin, but I realised I still have Origin Access, so I may as well give it a fair shot.

Still deciding what to get after Zelda. Leaning towards Nier, but maybe Horizon.

I don't particularly watch much WWE these day outside of ppv but as people said to be apart of WrassleGAF you gotta watch atleast some WWE

Here where the Shane vs AJ logic falls apart, Shane isn't a wreslter AJ is. That like Dana white challenging Conor McGregor or Roger Goodell challenging Tom Brady to quarterback contest it just doesn't make any sense.

To me it's just that I like wrestling and Wrestlemania is this huge event/celebration. Watching it is tradition, basically.

I WILL skip it this year, but it'll be the first time (except for the period when I just gave up on all likes and hobbies for a while). And, right now, even though I'm unhappy with the buildup and card, part of me still wants to watch it. So I can understand when someone who's very unhappy hate-watches it.

That's a tough one. If you loved the original Nier, from all I'm hearing get the new one. However, Horizon is an amazing game in of itself. It's getting ratings near what Zelda has been getting.

Now that would be sad if it was true since they only had about a 2 week build. The screwjob/heel turn wasn't built. It just came out of nowhere and made no sense. So they only started working towards this match about 2 weeks ago.

so instead of complaining that a fake belt is on the line let WWE conclude the story and then decide how much of your hate it deserves.

So you don't think it's important than this match is being centered around a nothing belt that's far beneath both guys? Feuding over garbage makes the feud garbage.

I truly believe that Goldberg doesn't want to let us down. Whether his body always him to give us a good match I don't know. Luckily expectations are so low I think anything lasting more than 1 minute will wow us.

Shane shouldn't be wrestling fullstop, I don't care how good the story is between him and AJ he's not a wrestler, he shouldn't be wrestling. AJ having to get in the ring with the bosses' son because he has ideas above his station is an insult.

Oh come on

Shane had a match with Undertaker last year, he was part of the Survivor series team this year...

Like come on the dude isn't a day in day out wrestler but he's not Dana White or Roger Goodell... And the WWE isn't the NFL or or even UFC....

Shit the Attitude Era was all about fighting your boss....

But now it doesn't make sense?

You don't have to like it, but you can't just say there's no logic behind it.

Honest question, is there any Goldberg match that is actually good? I don't remember any any it's not because I dislike the character, I just can't think of any. I'd love to watch one though.

Yeah, the other knock against Horizon is that I'd have been hunting stuff in an open world with a bow for 50 hours before that, so it might be worth waiting on a little while.

Either way, I need to smash out the next game before Persona 5.
