Holy shit both my joycons were desynching and resynching like hell at the beginning of Zelda. This is nuts, very rough experience so far.

I'm surprised because I expected I would play in TV mode 90% of the time but so far I've probably split 50/50 between it and handheld mode.

Something great about playing BoTW while laying in bed.

Anyone compared the sound quality between the headphone jack and the HDMI from the dock? I might have to buy a converter if the HDMI is significantly better.

...hate me...
I own the console for a few hours (didn't even play Zelda) and man is this thing great.

My gripe is really the lack of software, aside from Zelda.

I really have to get Fast RMX.

I wish there was a competitive local multiplayer traditional controlled game, like a sports game, to play with the Joy-cons sideways.

Didn't test the left joycon exhaustibly but it seemed to work well enough, and the wifi works great which was a relief! 2 or 3 bars always and it tested at about the same speeds as wired in the living room. Cool that the wired setup is completely automatic if you don't want to change any setting and it just "switches" from and to wifi quite fast when you dock it and undock it.

There is no doubt audio would be better from HDMI out so a better/bigger dac and amp can process it.

What kind of converter do you mean?

I think the reasons there's no 1,2 Switch demo is because 1) a demo would quickly show people that the retail package is not worth its asking price and 2) 1,2 Switch is selling HD rumble hard and they don't want people to download a free demo, experience HD rumble, say "that's cool" and then not buy the game. The game is a price gate for Nintendo's HD rumble showcase.

"playing" dumb? unpossible
I went to Bestbuy to get a screen protector to use, while the glass tempered one I ordered arrived. I left with no screen protector (ended up getting a mario case bundle to snag the screen protector from Toys R Us), and these lol.

The Pro Controller feels amazing in my hands.

Hdmi audio extractor to 3.5mm or optical (I have a headphone amp that takes optical).

Do Nintendo games even use uncompressed audio? Feel like the file sizes say otherwise.

So are anyone elses Switch speakers quiet? Max volume doesn't seem that loud, and at half or less it's quite hard to hear the music in a game like Zelda.

I asked once before on this but only got one reply.

Coming from the 3DS the speakers are actually better than I expected. The bigger issue is how pathetic the volume is on the headphone port. Absolutely useless for anything other than stock earbuds and even then it's soft.

Nah, still waiting. Won't be getting mine til late March/early April. I didn't care about the wait when I got them because I figured "eh, doubt I'll get a scratch that fast, I can wait."

Oh boy did I fuck up.

Yeah, picked up a 6 dollar official one at the store to get me by. The dock thread made me paranoid.

So in portable mode, pressed the power button and I was already in the 'home' section of the OS in zero seconds. How is this possible. This is going from a completely off state to on and ready in 0 seconds.

Starting to wonder when we might get the next round of info on ARMS. It's due out in "spring" so end of May really, and still not much is known outside of the 5 characters and online/offline multiplayer.

Some sort if direct in a few weeks would be nice. I know they're focusing on Mario Kart but they shouldn't wait for that to be out until they push Arms again.

I got the official Nintendo case and screen protector. Spent so long cleaning the screen and getting dust off, but so much dust still got under or on the screen protector :(

Accidentally put a JoyCon strap on wrong, chipped a nail trying to remove it. Fucking awful design, it feels like you're breaking it trying to get it out

Definitely can barely hear them if there's background noise going on.

Because it wasn't off, it was in sleep mode. To fully turn off the system you have to hold down the power button until a menu appears and shut it down from there.

Anyone going handheld only with the Switch? I haven't even unpacked the second tray and not planning on it either.

That's me. Mostly anyway. I finally unpacked the dock yesterday and that was because I bought a USB-C extension cable that I wanted to try so I could just plug with the cable rather than having to dock/undock. I'll probably go 80-20.

Japan shop doesn't like either of my CCs. I'm being told to check my input.

I just need about 1000, does anywhere do digital codes relatively quick? Or maybe somebody knows what's going on?

My CCs did not work either so the only way I was able to do it was buying yen eshop codes on Amazon Japan then redeeming them in the eshop.

No you're just waking it from sleep. To shut down the Switch requires a long button press and a menu selection. The Nintendo and Switch logos display during boot.

That said waking from completely powered down is still fast , I just tested it and it was around five seconds.

I'm familiar with shutting it down properly, but I thought it was turned off and not in sleep mode. Oh well. :)

Does anyone else's parental control app show wrong hour count for time played? It shows about 2 hours off unless it starts counting from when I started downloading the game, which sounds weird.

This is really a none issue for someone like me who uses the parental control app to track my own gaming stats (Oh, no! My, Zelda hour count!) but I guess it could be an issue for actual parental control uses.

Hmm, my B button on the right joy-con is suddenly less responsive for me. It'll click down but it won't respond, I have to have the thing pressed down pretty hard now for it to register.

Only used it for a dozen hours too, lame.

Had to send in my neon switch in for repair today... was playing the system in handheld mode last night and it was working fine, I take the system and dock it for the night so it can charge up again, Tried to play some Zelda this afternoon and my system wont turn on! I attempted to reset the system and it still wouldn't boot past the Nintendo logo. I noticed that the charger was working but the system itself wouldn't charge at all, regardless if the power was connected to the the dock or the system. Called Nintendo and they made me go through everything I had done to troubleshoot the system and it still doesn't work, I never had a launch day console stop working but I guess their is a first time for everything lol.

Did they mention anything about transferring your save games if they have to replace the unit?

Sorry if this is a question that has been answered before, but where is World of Goo and the other 2 games by the same guys? Weren't they supposed to be launch? Are they actually there and I'm doing eShop wrong?

damn, these type of problems should really not be happening for such an expensive device.

Guessing they missed the cut off. Suspect they will be on the Thursday eshop update

I had made a comment to the person on the phone that I was annoyed that I might lose my save files for Zelda because I was quite a few hours into the game, He pretty much said that if my unit were replaced that right now it wouldn't be a refurbished system but a brand new one and that I will most likely lose all my data including my save data.

I know it's been said by a lot of other people, but the Neon color really grew on me since January 12th. It looks very cool and unique.

Same. Though, the second I got it I bought the two joycon pack with opposite colours so that I could have a red Switch, and now I just leave it like that whenever it's in handheld mode.

Shit. While there is no user method to back up saves, I kind of hoped Nintendo CS would have an internal method to do it :(

Same here. I'm finding I play in table top mode mostly. Have it next to my computer screen and play while browsing.

Does the parental control app not record time by game? Is it just a total of that day?

I can't believe they didn't bring over the activity log from the Wii U. It was the best implementation of recording game time I have seen.

Just noticed this last night... is it normal for my Switch to pass a certain low level of 'interference' noise through my headphones? Like on Zelda loading screens, there's no sound, but there is this sort of static-y noise. It's not totally silent.

Love having the extra set of Joy-cons because I can leave 1 pair attached always charging so when the battery runs out I can swap them back and forth without waiting for a charge. Man I'd kill for ANY Souls game to be ported to Switch!

Sold my Switch, I was afraid no one would buy it! :( It took me 4 days to sell it. Hahah.
Next on my list Zelda: LE
