They tried one menu item? smh. Well the Lumpia looks good at least. Should be worth the trip when i go in August

Looks pretty awesome. Plenty of work was put into this section of the park for sure

I feel like avatar 2 is finally happening. Between the announcement of the video game by Massive (the division, world in conflict) and avatar land at Disney opening soon then surely Cameron is gonna start shooting to get the sequel out for December next year right?

I'm so sad I'm going to be there just a few weeks before the official opening and probably just a week or two ahead of soft opens

I missed the news about the game. That's uh interesting.

Speaking of sequels, the land itself is a sequel to ALL the movies, as it's set in the period after all of them, which I thought was pretty interesting

I know the first Avatar was a huge success, but you don't hear people talking much about the movie these days. Is the IP (or whatever you want to call it) still that popular?

There is no way Avatar 2 comes out next year.

We'll find out when the sequels hit. The reason no one talks about the IP is because there's been 0 content to talk about.

There's been no books, comics, games, moviss, etc. We shall see what happens when the sequels get here.

Yeah. I personally just didn't find the world/lore very interesting so I guess I'm extrapolating that to others.

Just watched The Chew clip and the guy just read off the exact first sentence from Wikipedia for his description of lumpia. Terrible.

Did Cameron seriously just tell us how the whole saga ends in that clip from The View?

Haha, wanted to comment the exact same thing after watching the clip. It makes sense I guess.

Btw, the park looks amazing. I wonder what it will look like at night.

After many generations, which goes beyond the movies' timeline, the Na'vi will eventually accept humans colonizing Pandora and they are living together peacefully.

Well
I'm ok with them saying that, it also makes sense for the park. Apparently Cameron also came up with a reasoning on why we don't need "masks" to breath while on Pandora while we are there. Apparently the world has become breathable for both us and the Na'vi after many generations.

That Nightline ABC video I linked though really shows how much love and care went into the theming. Joe Rhode really is special and a key part of Disney right now.

Joe Rhode is a national treasure. Animal Kingdom is a work of art (minus that dumb Dino section).

It's just too bad he was saddled with the Tower of Terror overlay in California :(

The media are being let in today to see Pandora. I thought I'd share some tweets from TheDIS. It's unbelievable how beautiful this new land is going to be. I didn't want to steal their images, so please just visit the links to see them :)

Honestly it looks and feels like you're in a different world just looking at these photos and seeing the level of detail. Disney has brought it big time.

Here's a POV ride-through of the Na'Vi River (it's loud be ready)

Also a video of how the Flight of Passage ride works, it looks pretty intense. You can see the safety restraints in the video also:

Flight of Passage is a bit intensive. Somewhere between Soarin' and Star Tours, but it feels completely realistic.

^^^^ someone's thoughts on Flight of Passage intensity.

Should be a lot more media coming out on Pandora throughout the weekend. If I find anything else I'll post it.

The animatronic at the end of the river journey video is insane.

So Soarin' is fine for me, but Star Tours is a big NOPE... curious to see more impressions on it. I guess I'd go on it once regardless though.

See a Single Rider line in the pics for Flight of Passage... nice.

From what I read it's not as jerky as Star Tours.

Thank you, Disney representative.

Man River Journey looks very meh. Definitely beautiful looking, but it seems like there isn't any story or explanation of what you're seeing. Lots of pretty colors but kind of soulless. That last animataronic is incredible though, unbelievable control of his arms. Hopefully the Banshee ride is a classic.

So basically Frozen Ever After: Avatar Edition.

I want James himself to come out on opening day and say "ever since the first film I've wanted to immerse audiences in a world that they've never seen before. But I've realized film is not the medium for this dream. So let me introduce you to AVATAR 2:ITS ACTUALLY A THEME PARK."
